Chapter 7:

Eileen Hawkeen: Harpy Learning How to be A Human

Harpy x Harpie: Switcharoo

"It's been 5 hours, and I still have no clue how to operate this big screen. How do I turn this on?" I was struggling with what humans called monitor. I don't know what this monitor is specifically for, but it was attached to a big box.
"Why does this person not have a manual for this thing? How will people or harpy like me figure out if I don't know what the thing should be?"

I was so distracted with the monitor that I didn't hear footsteps or someone knocking on the door. The door opened, and the thirteen-year-old girl came in. I should've locked the door to be fair, but it had already happened. The sister asked, "Brother, you blah sleep bab blab. Are you okay?"
Thank goodness I learned human language in a night. Hopefully, I can still keep up with her, though.
"Ah, haha, don't worry about me... sister. I'm okay."
The sister widened her eyes and gasped, "Har... harpie."
Eeehh? I did hear her say harpy to me yesterday. Did she really figure out who I am? Oh no, I'm doomed.
"You... call me sister?"
"Eh?"
"Who are you? You're not Harpie. My big bro would never call me sister", she said while pointing her finger at me.
With a confused face, I looked at her with such a pose, then I said, "I... I can explain."

Without further chit-chat, I explained to her what happened with broken human language. I wasn't so sure how she would react, but after I explained to her, her reaction was unexpected.
"No... no way. So, you are a hundred and ninety-nine years old woman inside my big bro's body."
"Ehm... pretty much."
"No wonder, you said you had cooties yesterday."
How the hell did you say that so casually?
"Eh... please, forget about that. I said it without knowing the language that you speak."
"Wait! You already understand what that means?"
"Yeah, from these books that your brother has." I quickly showed her all of the books that I gathered. "This is, like, the first time I ever fell in love reading something. It's amazing how pictures can change someone's views of a book. And... and..."
I wasn't really paying much attention to the girl, but when I did, I realized that her face turned red."
"Are you alright?"
She came close to me and patted my shoulders.
"I think... you need much time to learn."
Oh no. What did I do wrong?

This was one of, if not, the wildest mornings I have ever experienced. This person's parents weren't home because of work, so his sister came in to help me figure things out, and the most embarrassing thing was she helped me with cleaning my body.
Uweeee, doesn't this scenario feel like the story that was told in the book titled, "Wanna Bath"?
I kept spacing out, too, because I felt like a baby dragged by a thirteen-year-old. She explained a lot of things, even the monitor that I tried to figure out at dawn.

"You got that all?"
"No... and... yes."
"Hmm? Which one you don't get and which one you understand?" She asked with sparkling eyes.
"Wait! Hold on! Why are you so excited to do these things? Don't you... at least... feel embaress?"
She immediately changed her expression into a sad face and said, "I... I... I just like to spend time with my big bro."
Huh?
"It's been such a long time since he even wanted to talk to me normally. He even gave me a nickname that I don't like. He... changed so much ever since he started university. His tone, his behaviour, and his motivation in life just... I don't even know what to say."
At that moment, I felt this body shivering and wanted to hug her. And I did just that. This body gave a sense of remorse and regret all over. It felt like this guy wanted to say sorry.
"I'm sorry", I said without even thinking.
"Huh? Brother?"
Soon after, I realized what I had done and let go of the hug.
"You... did you just say sorry? Why?"
"I... I don't know. It just feels... the right thing to do."
"But you're not my brother right now. Why?"
"This body... he felt remorse and regret then out of nowhere send a signal to the brain and made me hug you. That was a weird sensation to have."

We shared a moment of silence for a couple of minutes to gather our thoughts. But then the sister broke the silence and said, "Sorry for making this awkward for the both of us. Let's continue learning together."
"Yeah, sure."
"Before that, though, sorry for not introducing myself. My name is Hermani, Hermani Holland."
"I'm Eileen Hawkeen. Nice to know you."
"Likewise." Somehow, that brought her smile back, and I was happy to see her smile again.

We spent hours getting to know each other after this. Without we realized it, it was already noon and the mother of this person has arrived home.
"KIIIIIDSS, Momma bring some chickens. If you guys are hungry, just get it at the dinner table."
We heard it from the second floor, and let me tell you, her voice was louder than my mom's voice. Like, holy hell, that was like the mountain siren.

"Alright, mom. Thanks", Hermani shouted back.
"I understand the basic of... this thing now. Thanks, Hermani."
"Hehe, your welcome. And let me write down the name of this thing."
Then she grabbed a pen and paper to wrote "Computer"
"Here! Can you read it?"
"Computer?"
"Yes! That's it! I still can't believe that bird language and human language are similar. I would never even guess that."
"Me neither. I never even knew that learning new stuff could be this fun. Technology, huh?"
"True!"
We continued surfing the computer, I got introduced to what people called the internet. Hermani taught me memes, video calls, and more. Suddenly, we heard a loud rumbling from Hermani's belly.
"Oops! Hehe, sorry about that."
"Don't mention it. We should get something to eat."
"Oh yeah, I get that chickens that my mom bought. You can continue searching the internet; don't wait for me."

She ran to grab the chickens. When she did that, I had something in mind. Something that I should do.
"She explained that... I can search anything on the internet, right?"
I typed "Harpy" into the search bar, and my whole world that I knew would forever change in a moment.
