Chapter 2:

A Prince Going to a Human Academy

The Prince of the Otherworld becomes a Highschool Student

A loud thud echoed throughout the entire apartment room, as the groggy body of Kaus met the ground, “W-what is it, your Majesty?” he tiredly asked. Standing tall next to him was the tipped-off Iscodaya, whose gaze was paralyzing.

“What is it?” He repeated, “I’ll tell you what is it, you and me, HAVE SCHOOL!! IN TWENTY MINUTES!!” He yelled, and as Kaus heard this, he quickly got up, grabbed a towel, and went to their shower. Iscodaya sighed as he continued to prepare his bag.

It had been two days since Iscodaya and Kaus arrived in the new world. Tasked by his father to learn more about the new realm, the young Prince, with the help of spies who infiltrated the realm, and a lot of personal research. Finding out that just like in his world, the academy was the place to learn.

He stood by the mirror, making sure he had everything. His uniform was a white button-up shirt with a tie and gray pants. On his face were circle-framed glasses that partly hid his scarlet eyes. He carefully assessed that everything was perfect.

“You’re looking fine your Majesty, why put in so much effort on the uniform? Do you want to bring any princesses back home?” Teased Kaus, hair still wet, but pants on. At his comment, Iscodaya’s cheeks turned slightly red as he scoffed.

“As if,” he sassily replied, combing his hair downward. His bangs reached right below his eyes, as the hair behind his head descended to the bottom of his neck.

Kaus had noticed Iscodaya’s new hairstyle, so as he finished putting on his shirt, he asked, “What’s up with your hair?” He asked, putting books into his bag.

Not turning to him, Iscodaya replied, “A lot of youth of his world have this hair, it’s also just very convenient.” As Kaus finished getting ready, they exited their apartment.

On the street, Iscodaya noticed that they were getting a lot more attention than they wanted, and he knew the exact reason. Turning around, he looked at Kaus, his bright blue medium-length hair, slicked back, stood out like a droplet of blue in a canvas of black. His tall body didn’t help, along with his admittedly handsome face.

“I knew we should’ve dyed your hair,” Iscodaya murmured, as the entire walk became very embarrassing for him.

But as they approached their destination, Iscodaya checked a physical clock he had brought in his bag, they were doing good on time. So as to remind Kaus, they hid behind a nearby bush, as Iscodaya retold his servant the plan.

“Listen to me, Irom,” the prince stated, his voice very serious, causing Kaus to actually start to pay attention. “We are here to learn about this world, their academy here is called, school, and we will go in as students. Never, ever ever, tell anyone where we came from, what we do, or who we truly are. As students, here are our identities, we are still Iscodaya Kousa and Kaus Irom, and we are still sixteen years old. But our country of origin is the Philippines, you and I are cousins, and we are international students living in an apartment due to our family’s support, got it?”

Kaus nodded at his Prince’s question, but had one question, “May I ask, why am I with you? Wouldn't it be better if you went alone?” Iscodaya’s eyes rolled as he heard this.

“You and your ten-minute attention span,” Iscodaya jabbed, “You’re here, as always, to defend me, if, let’s say, other nations from Eon manage to create interdimensional portals like Uncle Serioth’s. But you are also here to learn and be my immediate second opinion.” Iscodaya slightly tilted his head, something he did to ask someone if they had gotten what he was trying to say.

Kaus’ eye contact wandered off as he stood up, “Yes your Majesty, I get it now.” Iscodaya nodded, as he also stood up and left the bush. But as they continued their walk, there was another question Kaus had in mind, “Say, your Majesty? Why are we from Philippines, is it becau-”

“It’s because its name is the closest to Phirines,” Iscodaya immediately responded, earning a dry smile from Kaus.

“...I see~ it must’ve been a tough day at the laboratory when they made that decision.”

When the two had made it to their school, as Iscodaya expected, Kaus’ appearance was already catching a lot of eyes. But as leaves started to fall from the trees around them, and the bright sun shone all around them, Iscodaya couldn’t help but marvel at them, even in this world, life was beautiful.

As the two made it to the buildings of their school, they began to locate their classroom. With pattern recognition and knowing numbers, Iscodaya had figured out where their class was. Seeing that the door was already open, he turned to Kaus, “Remember, don’t speak Phirinian unless it’s important.”

“Alright,” Kaus replied seriously, and then, with a deep breath, the two went inside. Like a beacon, every student’s head turned as the two made their appearance, but Iscodaya knew mostly all of it was because of Kaus.

Without saying more, Iscodaya turned to find a seat, as Kaus followed him. As the two sat next to each other, Iscodaya pulled out a book while Kaus stared blankly off to the end of the classroom, leaning on his hand. “Your Majesty,” he spoke in the language the two had been studying for the past four months.

“What is it?” Iscodaya replied, half dismissively as he was fully focused on his book.

Kaus saw this, and decided to grab the book, “This is serious,” he whispered, his gaze pointing at a few students walking up towards them.

Iscodaya’s heart readied just as if he was planning a war back home, “Remember what we studied Kaus.”

The students consisted of two girls and one boy, clearly talking about the two new students. As the girl leading the charge approached Kaus, the young boy focused. Kaus Irom, the Winter, a Phirines Captain, known for being the youngest to get the position. A feared, and respected warrior one who had battled in countless wars.

And next to him, Prince Iscodaya Kousa, his master, and mastermind. The Demon Prince, a name more feared than Kings, a true monster who had never lost a battle he was planning.

Throughout all their battles, the two knew this one was one of their most important, talking to a human girl.

But as a girl in the group walked up to the two, Iscodaya fully got to see her face. His blood flowed as his temperature rose, soon the young boy had rosy cheeks as he took in the sight of one of the most beautiful women he had ever seen, “Hey, are you guys new here?” The girl asked, her voice sounding as sweet as honey to the smitten Prince.

Kaus, ever the composed warrior, invitingly grinned, causing the girl behind and those spectating to blush red, “Why yes, we are still quite unfamiliar with this land, for it had been only two days since we’d gotten here.”

The group was a little taken back by Kaus’ way of speaking, but they continued to talk, “I see, well, to get to know each other, can I ask what is your name?” The front girl asked, leaning a bit forward to Kaus.

“Certainly, my name is Kaus Irom,” he responded, “And over here is my cousin.” As Kaus turned to Iscodaya, he saw a sight he never thought he would see. Ever since Kaus was six, he had served as Iscodaya’s sword and personal servant, and for all the years they had known each other, he had never blushed this hard in his entire life.

When the friend group turned towards Iscodaya, the front girl’s eyes narrowed a bit, a smile coming over her face. She walked directly to Iscodaya’s desk, leaning forward, she asked, “Hello, I’m Kei Inoue, what’s your name?”

Taken aback, Iscodaya stuttered, “I-Iscodaya Kousa.” The girl known as Kei’s smile grew.

“Iscodaya, that’s a unique name? Say, I you’re cute, you wanna go out?” As Kei said those words, hushed whispers started to sound all around the classroom. Kei and her friends waited for Iscodaya to say something, so when he opened his mouth, he uttered.

“What? No.”
