Karan moved swiftly through the game’s terrain when a name flashed on his screen—Miss Goddess’s rival. His expression hardened as he immediately contacted her.
"Tell me your location. I’m coming to you," Karan said.
Miss Goddess hesitated before responding, "I know I'll be safe with you, but for how long? Someday, I have to handle things on my own."
Karan fell silent, understanding her words but not willing to take chances. She finally shared her coordinates, and without wasting a second, he sprinted toward her.
But then, her voice crackled through their communication link—urgency in her tone.
"I’m surrounded. There’s a team in front of me, and she’s with them."
Karan’s pace quickened. "Don’t fight her. Keep her distracted until I get there. Just one minute—"
"I can’t," she interrupted. "She’s already attacking."
Karan gritted his teeth. "Damn it! How many are in her team?"
"Four. None of them look weak."
"Hold on, I'm almost—" Karan's words trailed off as he heard her final, frustrated sigh.
Miss Goddess had fallen.
When he arrived, her opponents were already scavenging her items, strengthening themselves. Karan clenched his fists.
"I'm challenging them," he declared.
"But you still have to face Jordi," Miss Goddess reminded him.
"Your revenge comes first."
Karan scanned his inventory, his eyes locking onto a crucial item. A smirk played on his lips. He stepped forward and issued his challenge.
The Battle Begins
His opponents had anticipated his arrival and were prepared. The attacker of the opposing team wasted no time, launching a relentless barrage of strikes. Karan quickly realized this player wasn’t a mere Pawn—their speed suggested they were at least Knight or Prince rank. But they weren’t King or God level either, or Karan would already be struggling more.
For now, he was at a disadvantage. His sword was still unanalyzed, and the opponent’s flurry of attacks left no openings.
Then, suddenly, the attacks ceased. The opponent had stepped out of their team’s attack range, pausing momentarily.
Karan took that moment to draw his sword for the first time. The battlefield stilled.
His weapon was unlike anything they had seen before—a Crimson Red Katana.
With a quick analysis, Karan noted its abilities:
Sharpness: 0.3 (incredibly high)
Additional Weapon: An 8 cm hidden knife embedded in the handle for dual attacks
Requirement: Exceptional speed to wield effectively
His opponent hesitated. They turned to retreat, but Karan wasn’t about to let them. His cape, which had reduced his weight, made him even faster.
But there was a problem—Karan couldn’t afford to focus on just one enemy. The other three were ready to intervene.
The team’s supporter stepped forward, wielding a Magical Lotus—a powerful artifact capable of putting every player in a 3-meter radius to sleep for 20 seconds, except the user.
Karan’s instincts screamed at him to move.
As the lotus activated, he acted instantly, hurling his katana toward the supporter.
The spell took effect. Karan’s vision blurred. Darkness swallowed him.
But before he lost consciousness, he saw it—his sword piercing the supporter’s chest.
Kill secured.
A 20-Second Strategy
Now, both Karan and the remaining enemies were paralyzed for 20 seconds—the perfect time for strategy.
The opposing team still had three members:
Attacker (injured but still dangerous)
Defender (focused on reviving the supporter)
Queen (yet to make a move)
Karan noticed the defender reaching for a Rebirth Stone—they planned to bring the supporter back.
Not happening.
The 20 seconds passed. As the match resumed, the attacker charged at Karan, keeping him distracted while the defender continued the revival process.
Karan feinted toward the attacker but suddenly changed direction, dashing toward the defender.
The defender panicked, abandoning the revival process to throw up multiple barriers. But Karan was relentless, slicing through one after another.
Before he could land the final blow, the attacker struck from behind, forcing Karan back. His health dropped, but he refused to slow down.
This time, Karan attacked head-on. The attacker parried his blows, but Karan’s katana was relentless—its strikes so powerful that, after 6-7 clashes, the opponent’s hands began to tremble.
Karan saw his chance.
A triple strike—one to the attacker’s arm, another to the leg, and finally, he went for the core—
But the Queen struck first.
A powerful blow from behind sent Karan staggering, and in that moment, the defender hurled 15 barriers at him in succession, knocking him away.
Now, Karan stood alone on one side, facing the three remaining players.
His health: 80%The attacker’s health: 40%The defender’s health: 70%The Queen’s health: 100%
For the first time, Karan truly looked at the Queen—the opponent who hadn’t lifted a finger until now.
She had been watching. Studying him.
Now, the battlefield was at a standstill. Everyone stood in place, waiting. Thinking.
Then, without warning, Karan charged.
