The world outside had evolved into a high-tech marvel, yet World Slasher remained frozen in time—a game that felt more like stepping into a myth than a virtual battlefield. While other games boasted cutting-edge mechanics, World Slasher stuck to its roots, embracing swords, bows, spears, and magic instead of guns and explosives. This historical essence was what made it legendary, even after a decade.
Karan, known in-game as "God Slayer," logged in, greeted by the familiar hum of the virtual world. Beside him, his trusted teammate "Miss Goddess" was already online. The two were among the elite, the God-ranked players of the game. Their reputation preceded them, though their real identities remained a secret.
As the match lobby filled up, a familiar name appeared on the screen—"God Jordi." The number one player.
The moment his name popped up, the chat exploded with excitement. A battle between "God Slayer" and "God Jordi" was a spectacle no one wanted to miss. But this wasn't just about them. Several other high-ranking players had joined the match, making it one of the most competitive lobbies in recent times.
The countdown hit zero.
Teleportation initiated.
Karan found himself in a dimly lit underground passage, an eerie silence settling around him. The cold air carried the faint echo of distant growls. He took a deep breath and unsheathed his sword—his level 2 Silver Edge—the weapon he had carried since the beginning of his journey.
A shadow moved.
From the darkness emerged a One-Eyed Ape, a level 5 beast with razor-sharp claws and a single glowing red eye that locked onto him. With a guttural roar, it lunged.
Karan sidestepped the attack, countering with a precise slash across its torso. The ape screeched, retaliating with a wild swipe that barely grazed him. Karan didn't hesitate. He struck again—one, two, three swift strikes. The beast fell, dissolving into fragments of light, leaving behind a red gem.
Karan picked it up, already planning his next move.
Deeper into the passage, a Monster Wolf prowled—a level 6 opponent. Stronger. Faster. Karan, still at level 4, knew he had to be strategic. He crouched behind a rock, inspecting the red gem in his hand. If he could fuse it with his sword…
He accessed the crafting menu, combining the gem with his weapon. The transformation was instant.
His Silver Edge darkened into Crimson Fang, its silver sheen replaced by a deep red hue. The blade grew longer, sharper, and its hilt now bore small spikes for a firmer grip.
[Weapon Upgraded: Crimson Fang – Level 5]
Karan grinned. Now we’re talking.
He stepped out, facing the Monster Wolf head-on. This time, it wasn’t a struggle. The enhanced blade cut through its defenses, and within moments, the wolf collapsed, vanishing into digital particles.
Rewards dropped:
Grey Gem
Sharp Claw
Karan collected them quickly. Time was running out—only four minutes left before the teleportation phase.
He needed healing.
Rushing through the passage, he stumbled upon something rare—a Sage Toad.
Unlike normal beasts, this creature wasn’t an enemy. It was a legendary Amph, an ancient, wise creature known for its ability to trade items and lead players to a hidden hot spring that fully restored health.
Karan didn’t hesitate.
He handed over the grey gem, sharp claw, and all the scrap items he had found. In return, the Toad offered him:
A Cape (for agility boost)
Gloves (for better grip and attack speed)
Rebirth Stone (a one-time revival item)
Not entirely satisfied with the trade, Karan made a bold move—he followed the Toad.
The path led him to the hidden hot spring.
Wasting no time, he stepped into the water. Immediately, a golden glow surrounded him. His health fully restored, and his weapon stats increased by +3.
Just then, an idea struck him.
He pulled out Crimson Fang and handed it to the Toad.
The creature examined the blade, croaking in deep thought before swallowing it whole.
Karan blinked. Wait… what?
A tense moment passed.
Then, the Toad spat out a newly forged sword. The moment Karan touched it, a system notification flashed—
[Weapon Upgraded: Crimson Fang → Abyss Fang (Level 7)]
Karan barely had time to analyze the weapon before teleportation initiated.
Match Phase: Combat Zone
The underground faded away, replaced by a vast battlefield where teams were finally reunited. Karan spotted Miss Goddess, who had also geared up significantly. She gave him a nod, her sharp eyes scanning the battlefield.
“Solo play?” she asked.
He smirked. “As always.”
They quickly mapped out their routes, choosing different paths to maximize their survival chances. The final battlefield awaited, and with it, an inevitable clash with God Jordi.
The hunt was on.
