Chapter 6:

Apostle 7, part I.

The crimson planet

2025, May 21sth.

it was a night like any other. a group of friends goes to a bar to have some drinks. they all are having fun and talking to some ladies. the environment was ideal. there was nothing that could had gone wrong. and then there was a light earthquake. it was barely felt. then the ground and buildings around started to break and fall into pieces.

one of the guys was crushed to death by parts of the wall. the rest of the guys and ladies leave the bar running. some people who were in the bathroom didn't make it alive. then in the outside the survivors were welcome by a deep pit. and creatures coming out of the pit. there are all kinds of creatures out of a nightmare.

levitating on top of the pit was a person wearing something similar to ritualistic robes. the clothe was of white color with golden and silver details around. the person was wearing a mask covering their face. the person in question raises their arms in a way imitating a hug.

"Hello mortals. I am but an Apostle presenting in front of you, divine retribution. for eons we had waited for the time for your species to face its righteous extinction. there will be no further excuses. no further second chances. humans are to be annihilated. the Apocalypses started almost twenty years ago. all nine gates had taken physical form in the earth. now, let the earth be swallow by your sins. and hear me out and clear. you of humankind may survive tonight. but your whole species should cease to exist in around a year. no more forgiveness. no more empty excuses. your death will be just one of many." said the Apostle.

the friends who were in the bar lose their life in front of the whole ordeal. there is one person left alive inside the bar. the person in question keeps drinking.

he is wearing black boots. leather jacket. a blue shirt with white stripes. he has messy hair. he wears some white jeans with chains. there is some facial hair. a gold left earring. the man in question is Miguel Mendoza. an older man approaches him.

you can barely notice by the appearance, but that is tequila. the brave strong man he was, is now no more than an old man. Tequila climbing on his late sixties is a step or two closer to hitting his seventies. those years had done an improvement on his character. he is no longer the weak easily scare man he once was. he now behaves with no fear for death. he has lived long enough to no longer bend in front of those creatures.

"Where is your sister?" said the old Tequila.

"She went out with some friends and some boy. don't worry she is strong enough to protect the both of us. she is going to be fine by herself. you worry too much old man." said Miguel as he keeps drinking with no care in the world.

"I remember the old days when you used to call me papa. what happened then? since when you became such a rebellious asshole? bring back the cute boy who called me papa." said Tequila as he thinks about the old good days.

there is noise coming from outside. the bar's door falls. then comes a person in an iron suit with mechanical gloves and boots. there are some military badges on his uniform. the man is question is in his mid-twenties. he is smoking.

there is a scar that goes from his forehead to his eye, then it falls from the eye to an ear. the scar looks deep. he has a bright charming smile. he has an attractive manly appearance. a mole under his lips. bushy eyebrows. orange lips. a military haircut, he has black hair with the tips dyed white. his eyes look like honey. he has a masculine endearing voice.

"Officer Singh. officer Angus. Angus Singh." someone calls for him.

the man looks at the old man. it was until the second time that someone called for his name that the agent turns around to face the person who was calling for him.

Angus Singh is the name he goes by. he is part of the United Sin Cleansers or USC for short. they are a group created by Outback to fight back. them along with smaller groups are the last line to save humanity. there are multiple bases stationed in key countries that had stablished an open friendly relationship with Outback.

the creatures came around the same time all over the world. they all came from pits that are created after an earthquake. most of the pits only sustain a small number of monsters. the most monsters that exit from those pits goes slightly over one hundred monsters. but the nine main gates sustain an endless supply of monsters. not just that. but there are seven extremely dangerous monsters protecting seven out of nine gates. plus, there are some Apostles protecting the other two gates.

in few words it would be suicidal trying to close the nine gates as things are now. they should wait to have a greater force to then go after the nine gates. there are multiple classes and types of monsters.

"Tell me boy. what can an old man do to get an interview with a former ally?" said Tequila.

"I am not sure if I follow sir. do you happened to know the commander?" asks Angus.

"I don't just know that old fox. I am a dear friend of his. we go way back. now, be a dear and guide me to that punk. there is some talking to do over some drinks." said Tequila smiling.

"Dad. we agree that no more drinks after six pm. you should hold your liquor." said Miguel smirking as he drinks as much liquor as humanly possible.

Tequila grabs a sword that he uses as a cane. he follows Angus outside. they walk around chaos and destruction. some monsters being hunted down by Angu's compatriots. there are all kinds of gore and guts out there. and the moon is as bright as ever.

they finally arrive in front of a barbershop. Angus stays by the door. Tequila nods and gets inside with careful solid steps. he looks at his old friend Outback sitting on a chair.

all the years since the last time they met had been kind to Outback. he aged nicely. he has more wrinkles than before. he has a long thick white beard. he keeps shaving his head. one of his eyes was replace by a glass eye. his body looks as muscular as back in the younger days. the man is a little over seventy and has the strength of a man half his age.

"You are looking good like always Outback. or should I say Beau Singh. who would guess that those muscles belong to a boring scientist." said Tequila as he remembers the old good days.

"You moody old bastard. good to see you still kicking, even if you need help to kick. Helen was an excellent help with the development of my little project. sadly, she didn't make it. it has been quite long since I heard anything from any of you guys. I heard that the swordsman was training his clan. so how can I help you, old pal." said Outback smirking.

"About that. I am curious of what you know about those things. I hold an important clue. but not enough to finish the puzzle by myself." said Tequila looking down.

"Those monsters are literal sins. sins had taken physical form thanks to the nine gates. our only choice is to close down those gates and kill the sins." said Outback calmly.

"Anything you can share on those fanatics out there?" asks Tequila looking at the floor.

"Well. those are the Apostles, about twelve of those freaks sided with the sins. they apparently adore a Deity that brought the gates of the end of times to earth." said Outback nervously.

"It's my turn then to drop the soup. I have a boy, a son under my wing. the boy is the key to our salvation. I am only asking one thing from you. just in case I don't make it. I want you to take care of my boy. he is precious to me." said Tequila calmly.

someone knocks the door. then Paul Smith gets inside holding two monster heads. one head in each hand. he drops the heads in the floor. he looks almost the same, just slightly older. he looks at Tequila. he asks about Miguel. after a small argument Paul leaves.

"I envy you old friend. I am here dropping double the effort. here breaking my back to get the ideal future right. and you who faces the same ordeal. you had managed to get a wife. a son. I don't even have kids of my own. there are some kids, but not is mine." said Outback drowning in depression as there is nothing like a friendly ear to listen to all his issues.

Tequila thanks his old friend. he then leaves. Angus is escorting him. if he is friends with Outback, then he has to be a big figure. or that is what Angus assumes.

Tequila noticed that Outback has changed. in the outside he seems fine. but something about him felt off. he starts to question if he can trust in anyone. all the members of their old society died almost thirty years ago. Texas went missing. the swordsman became a reclusive. and Outback doesn't seem so fine. for once Tequila feels truly alone.

he returns to the bar with Paul Smith at his side. Miguel seems happy to see Paul. they have a little conversation. Tequila sits down in a corner. he is too old to be moving like that. he is out of breath as he looks at the shape the world has taken.

"Paul, I trust you with my boy's protection. I feel like I need to search for his sister. that girl always finds new ways to stressed me." said Tequila with a bitter smile.

"Yes sir. this big troublemaker is in good hands like always." said Paul in a monotone tone of voice as he stands firmly behind Miguel.
