Akira Miike, part I.

Akira is a man of goals and achievements. 

a highly respected man like him spend the second half of his life devoted to a single cause. he knew what was needed of him. he couldn't waste a second.

now Akira sits down calmly in front of a desk. he receives a call from Outback. he wasn't too sure about answering. then after questioning the ideal actions for some time. he finally answers with a calming voice. 

"Hey, old sports. how ya doing?" yields Outback.

"You never learned proper etiquette. what you want Beau? I have no time for unconventional conversations about weather and politics." said Akira drinking tea.

"I am just checking on my old pals. too many had crossed the bridge. I can count with a hand the friends that are good. and you're one of them." said Outback smiling.

"If you call because you feel fear. you don't have to worry. I also feel fear. it is natural. we are humans and the things that feel foreign to us are scary for our immature and cowardly human hearts. come here to Puebla, I had created the perfect institute to fabricate saviors. the government is willingly to help as long as I pay good." said Akira out of concern.

"I have my healthy number of projects. since those days I haven't return home. I may sound more American than an actual Amercian now days." said Outback joking around.

"Sir. we have an issue." said Akira's secretary.

a muscular man wearing a businessman uniform approaches Akira. he informs his boss about Unit Seven's incident. Akira personally goes seek the survivors. he needs to know more about his son's whereabouts. every taken step creates echo.

Akira searches on his pockets. he takes a salty candy. he swallows the candy. he looks around the corridor at people. he is told that the people they rescued were sent to four different locations. Akira asks if there is any member of unit 7 there.

there are too many things for Akira to do. so little time to act. his secretary Samuel Miller walks behind him informing him about many issues related to the base. Akira feels like he is about breakdown with too many things falling on his shoulders. 

to explain the structure of the base better. it stands on top of a mountain. there is a small village nearby. the base is long. it is divided into seven sections. each section is its own building only connected to other sections by a tunnel. the size and form of the section is different from one another. there is the cafeteria, the training area, the armory, the laboratory, the central royal garden, the main office, and the landing.

the smallest building is the armory, as it is only big enough to safeguard all weapons. it is about the size of a small house with two floors. the second floor is used to keep all the fire weapons. on the other hand, the first floor is used to keep prototype weapons.

the cafeteria is huge. it has three floors. there are some natural trees as decorations. the third floor is the kitchen. only authorize personal can enter. the second floor is spacious. all walls are white and there are enough tables and seats to sustain around of one thousand-five hundred-and four people. on the first floor you can find a coffee shop, an ice cream shop, and other smaller shops that sell sweets. even a bakery.

the training area is large. divided in four. in the southwest is the archery and target shooting. northwest is use for horse riding and driving. northeast for aquatic activities and training. southeast is used to train on physical combat.

the laboratory is a mid-size building divided in two floors. the second floor is used as an institute in which scientist search and study the Sins and anything related from a scientific view. they also work on the creation of weapons. the first floor is a hospital.

the Central Royal Garden stands at the heart of the station connected to all sections. it is big enough to contain all kinds of plants. the vegetables are use as medicine and food. there are some animals kept in there too. among the animals there are cows, pigs, horses, and even some sheep. there are also birds in a secluded area. and some aquatic animals.

then there is the main office where Akira spends most of his time working. the area that is occupied more often is the main office. here is the main form of communication with the outside world. there are also monitors that the security team uses to observe the surrounding area with a radar. the most crucial and protected area in the whole base.

and finally, there is the landing area. where all vehicles are stationed. constantly there are transportation vehicles leaving and returning. 

right now, Akira is using a tunnel to go from the main office towards the landing. he usually sends his secretary. but things had been messy as of late. he needs to make contact with the survivors of the first wave. he needs to know how bad is out there.

only two members of unit 7 and Franco Castillo came to this base. the others were sent to a base on Quintana Roo. so, it would be hard to contact them. the members who made it here are named Kai Hori and Yuji Sato. 

in the meanwhile, 

in the laboratory's first floor. an old lady is helped by a nurse to walk freely. the old lady's name is Akemi Kamada, and she is Doctor Kamada's mom. she is all lost and confuse as she asks the nurse to take her to the cafeteria. she wants to eat some ice cream with her son. she smiles thinking about her son. she is like a child trapped in a wrinkle body. the nurse tries to keep up with her. all the time the nurse smiles feeling sorry for the old lady.

the nurse knows that Doctor Kamada is doing something dangerous. the nurse feels bad knowing that the old lady is all lost and sad. in a way the nurse has affection for the old lady like a daughter who looks up after her mother. 

the youngest member of the security team, Kobe has developed feelings for the kind and beautiful nurse. whenever he finds the opportunity. he offers himself to guide her. he is there asking her with a silly smile if she needs a strong guard. 

"Ms. Furukawa. if you need taking care of Mrs. Kamada. I am here. I don't want you to struggle all by yourself." said Kobe blushing and looking away.

"It is okay Mr. Watanabe. she is like a mother to me. she took care of me in my darkest days. so is right for me to pay back her kindness." said the nurse with a genuine smile.

the two of them keep walking and talking. there is some flirting here and there. the nurse is a widow in her late thirties. she is youthful and gorgeous. and she does have feelings for the young security guard. she finds him adorable. but she doesn't dare to date him because there is a difference of fifteen years between them.

Kobe knows the reason why she keeps rejecting him. but he refuses to give up. he will keep trying to win over her love. he can't give up when he knows his feelings are real. he wants to build a future at her side. he sees the rest of his days at her side.

and just like them there are many more living in the constant safety of the base. but no one in there could predict the fall of the fortress. after all nothing last forever. everything falls especially on times of war and dread. a fortress won't be any different. not even the mighty Akira could had ever saved the fortress. not even him.

this was just another peaceful day for them. just one more. but while everyone was distracted on their tasks. the Sins were getting closer. they came to destroy.

Akira loved that base more than anything. we could argue that he loved the base even more than his own son. a father would never let a son die. and the struggles he will suffer trying to stop the unavoidable will be truly tragic.
