Chapter 12:
Making of a Goddess
The massive dinosaur-like beast tore through the forest, desperately trying to escape.
Trees splintered in its path. The ground shook with every step.
It was the undisputed king of these woods. The apex predator. The biggest, meanest monster around.
But right now?
It was running for its life.
Because Rin was chasing it.
"COME BACK HERE, YOU OVERGROWN LIZARD!" she shouted, sprinting after it.
Normally, a beast of this size could outrun anything. But unfortunately for it-
Rin's Speed: 589.
She was faster.
The monster roared in panic.
DING!
---
[NOTICE: YOU ARE CHASING THE LAST SURVIVING APEX PREDATOR OF THIS REGION]
Killing it will officially end the local food chain.
Nearby creatures have already declared you an extinction-level threat.
Would you like to proceed?
[YES] [NO]
---
Rin cackled.
"OH, I'M PROCEEDING."
She leapt into the air, reeled back her fist, and-
BOOM!
One punch.
That's all it took.
The once-feared apex predator cratered into the ground, motionless.
Silence.
Rin landed, brushing dust off her shoulder.
She barely even broke a sweat.
"Whew. That was fun."
DING!
---
[NEW TITLE ACQUIRED!]
[ECOLOGICAL MENACE]
The entire forest fears you.
Monsters will either run or play dead on sight.
No one will ever see you as 'human' again.
---
Rin sighed.
"...Well, that's just rude."
She checked her INFINITE INVENTORY.
The monster's loot had already been stored.
Apex Beast Meat x 50
Dragon-Scale Hide x 10
Fang of the Last Predator x 1
Rin's stomach rumbled.
She perked up.
"Wait. I have actual food now."
She looked around the empty, monster-free forest.
Then at her ridiculous pile of ingredients.
And grinned.
"Time for my first good meal in centuries!"
The Greatest Barbecue in Isekai History
With her absurd strength, gathering firewood took less than a second.
One punch, and entire trees fell.
She stacked them neatly, snapped her fingers, and-
FWOOOSH.
Thanks to her fire resistance, she could set a campfire with a flick.
Then came the cooking.
She pulled out a massive slab of Apex Beast Meat, skewered it on a spear, and slow-roasted it over the flames.
Sizzling fat dripped into the fire, sending up a mouthwatering aroma.
The entire forest was dead silent.
No monster dared to move.
Even the wind seemed scared.
Rin happily hummed as she flipped the meat.
It had been so long since she last cooked anything decent.
After a few minutes-
She took a bite.
And her soul left her body.
"Holy crap. This is the best thing I've ever eaten."
Her eyes sparkled as she tore into the meat, completely forgetting about her recent exile, monster rampage, and destruction of an entire ecosystem.
She had food.
She had infinite inventory.
And best of all-
She had time.
Time to figure out what to do next.
Rin leaned back, staring at the starry night sky.
"...Alright. First step? Find a town that won't exile me."
She glanced at the burning remains of the once-great monster kingdom.
"...Maybe a different region."
