"Shit, shit, shit, shit!" Ophelia fuddled around in the dark of the night in the middle of a dense jungle. "I'm fucking doomed," she hissed through her teeth.
Ophelia quickly looked around her surroundings and perked up her ears, hoping to pick up any sound. She cursed again under her breath when she can hear footsteps on the dry grass a few meters away from her.
Her eyes darted around, desperately looking for a way out of the situation. She doesn't want to face this. She needs to go,
now.
Ophelia took off her shoes and took out a stick from her pocket. She turned her head and found a ledge beside a huge tree. Her mind was quickly thinking of ways to escape. They're already catching up to her.
"Lia! Where are you?!" A voice shouted from a distance. Ophelia clicked her tongue and turned around, and started to run.
She started by getting momentum, and sprinting towards the ledge. The moment she stepped on it, Ophelia used her momentum and her body's strength to leap towards the branch of the huge tree. She continued to run along the branch and leaped onto another branch of a tree.
"I can hear her," the voice from before said. "She's up the trees! Hurry, stop her!"
"Fuck..." Ophelia muttered under her breath, and quickly glanced behind her and saw that they were nearing where she was. She looked around and saw an opening, where the jungle would start to disappear. Ophelia started to run faster. She must get there in time, or else, everything she ever did would go to waste.
The group of people running after her were almost there, but Ophelia stopped and pulled a vine from a huge tree. All of a sudden, several branches, small pieces of dirt, and a few snakes and snails fell off from the huge canopy above, which slowed down the chase after her. Ophelia threw a glare at them and started to run off, and getting away from the jungle. After running for another few minutes, Ophelia finally got out. Now, in front of Ophelia, was a wide field that never seemed to end.
Ophelia looked at the sky. There were several clouds brooding over them.
