Chapter 31:

Mr. Warm's Funeral and Estimated Launch Date of Witch’s Broom

The Quietus Cloud, The Witch Curve, and The Five - A mathematical, historical, and philosophical tale set in a world where the sun is about to end and a cloud covers the entire earth in eternal twilight

Mid-January. On a hill with neatly cut green grass. The Quietus Cloud is still watching up there, and this time, the Quietus Cloud seems to be calling its other cloud friends.

The Quietus Cloud's friends are nimbus stratus clouds. The cloud at that time came and presented small clumps of snow. The cloud seemed to be saying to the grass on this hill, "You're not the only one who can appear now, oh green grass. My snow also has the right to show its existence."

Speaking of rights, the members of the Five have many rights, from high salaries and various facilities to ownership of AZ guns, and so on. But on the other hand, of course, the members of the Five also have many obligations. The most important obligation of the Die Funf members is to conduct research and scientific activities for the sake of CRESCAT SCIENTIA VITA EXCOLATUR.

Today, there is another obligation that several members of the Five seem to be doing. The obligation is to wear a full dress uniform, or what can also be called a ceremonial dress uniform. This uniform is the most formal uniform of the Five that is used for certain events, one of which is a funeral like this.

The Five members who wear full dress uniforms are currently attending Mr. Warm's funeral. I am currently sitting on the left side of Otto Bravmann Schellhahn and on the right side of Ather Lana Schneegeist. My closest fellow Five member, Gaetano Glanzrad Ragunanzu, cannot attend this event.

Nanzu is currently carrying out the Five's main obligation. He is conducting research for which the schedule has been planned for a long time. Nanzu and the Five other members who cannot attend Mr. Warm's funeral at this time have agreed to make a pilgrimage to Mr. Warm's grave as soon as possible if their time permits.

The Five members who cannot attend this event are not the Big Five. The five crème de la crème of the Five were all present at this mourning event. They also wore their uniforms complete with their own personal insignia.

All members of the Big Five, like everyone else there, looked emotional. Ms. Szyschulz, who was usually confident, seemed to have gone into low-profile mode. Mrs. Zeusleben, "The Angel," looked like an angel of death who was sad and didn't like to see someone die.

Mr. Wernherluft seemed to be someone who had lost his 'fighting spirit' and was longing for a peaceful atmosphere. Mr. Iyilipmann "The Clown" seemed to have lost all his humorous aura. Meanwhile, Mr. Starkgeist, "The Norms," as a person full of norms, was appointed as the representative of the Five to deliver the speech at the funeral.

Mr. Starkgeist began his eulogy, "Let me spell his name: F-E-R-M-I I-S-A-I H-E-R-Z-W-A-R-M. That name, my friends, we will all remember...."

I think the selection of Mr. Starkgeist as the representative of the Five to deliver the eulogy was the right thing to do. From his choice of words and his choice of words, the man was able to convey a speech tone that was still formal but at the same time full of emotion. All the attendees who came to this funeral listened solemnly to Mr. Starkgeist's funeral speech.

In addition to the members of the Five, many important people came in person as a symbol of their condolences. There were government officials, including Chancellor Angela Fritzie Weisskross and Defense Minister Huttereich Blitzkaper Waldwuff. Also present was the head of the Bavarian state police, Agnesia Ange Aalart.

In addition, there were also VVIPs from various backgrounds. Aria Sunna Heissvogel appeared to come with her father, her mother, and her older brother. I noticed that almost all of the wealthy families of Deutschtonia sent their representatives. Almost all, because I didn't see any representatives of the Felsenmann family present at this event.

As one of the wealthy families, it seemed that all of the core members of the Herzwarm family were present. Mr. Warm's younger brother, Marco Kosa Herzwarm, sat in the front row. As a representative of the Herzwarm family, he was the first person to get the chance to deliver his eulogy.

Mr. Starkgeist's eulogy continued, "... Warm and I have collaborated for a long time. I have known him very well. I am confident with my colleague, a fellow energy architect who built the IJK reactor; even though he has passed away, his energy and spirit will continue to be felt accompanying me...."

"...some people may feel that there are certain people who deserve such a fate. That is understandable, because perhaps those who feel that way are people who consider something they do not understand as magic. It's okay; this is a democratic country. It's okay to have different opinions. I, too, often have different opinions, for example, when I disagree with the official statement of the state administrators ..."

I felt that hearing Mr. Starkgeist's string of sentences just now, the members of the Five would think the same thing as I". Mr. Starkgeist said it! In his eulogy, he mentioned the Fates and implied that he still did not believe that Mr. Warm's death was due to suicide."

The funeral procession was over. Now I was walking to meet someone who was also present at this funeral. When I was near the person who promised me, it seemed that he was talking to someone.

Princess Heissvogel was talking to Agnesia Ange Alaart at that time. I could hear a little of what the police chief said: "Excuse me. Excuse us."

After I heard the policewoman's words, it seemed that she immediately noticed my presence. Alaart turned and looked at me. Without asking me or the princess, he had already read the situation that I wanted to talk to the princess.

Seeing someone in the Five uniform coming, Aalart immediately said, "Oh, excuse me, Wissnmeister, it seems you want to talk to Ms. Heissvogel."

After Aalart left, I asked the princess to confirm my suspicion, "Did she apologize for the police's performance?"

The princess replied, "That's how it is. That woman is aware that the majority of the public does not believe that Mr. Herzwarm died by suicide—and that public opinion includes the opinion of our Heissvogel family. That puts pressure on her institution."

I commented, "But it can't be helped; there are only signs that point to Mr. Herzwarm committing suicide. There is no evidence whatsoever of murder."

"That's how it is," said the princess. She then turned to the topic that had led us to meet here for a while, asking, "So what about the wizard hat dungeon thing? What are your calculations?"

I replied, "I've calculated everything and estimated it. The broomsticks will most likely be airborne in about three and a half months, on the night of April 30th or the early morning of May 1st."

The princess commented, "You know, Polyops, I also estimated that date. I also thought it was a coincidence that it was on that date..."

I knew what the princess was thinking and said, "That's right. The broomsticks will most likely break through the Quietus Cloud on Walpurgis Night."
