Chapter 32:

Comics, Going Steady, and the Rock That Must Be Lifted

The Quietus Cloud, The Witch Curve, and The Five - A mathematical, historical, and philosophical tale set in a world where the sun is about to end and a cloud covers the entire earth in eternal twilight

Today is the end of January, about a week after Mr. Warm's funeral.

"Yes, yes, that's it, Mr. Fujio," I confirmed.

"Okay, then, I hope the new Wissenmeister Schonewolken project is a success," said Mr. Fujio.

At this moment, the man I was talking to was on a video call. Mr. Fujio is an editor at the publisher Shakukan. The core of our international communication was a discussion about the second volume of my comic.

The first volume of my manga-style comic, titled "Tiered Ties," was able to attract the interest of readers in a certain niche. Because of that, the publisher communicated with me whether or not there would be a next volume. Shakukan, as a publisher outside my country, was the most active publisher in the discussion.

Shakukan even offered me if I wanted to become a story writer to lighten my load. They stated that they had many mangaka —manga-style comic creators— contacts whom they could contact to discuss cooperation in making the second volume of Tiered Ties.

I had stated that I would not rule out the possibility of continuing the Tiered Ties manga. However, I also informed them that I was currently busy with another project, which would delay the creation of the manga. I asked to hold incentive talks about this in about six months.

Mr. Fujio, as the representative of Shakukan, agreed to this. Mr. Fujio also said that he wished me success with my current project. Of course, I did not say that the project I was currently working on was making a rocket that could penetrate the Quietus Cloud.

It was now mid-February.

"Hey, Polyops," the Princess invited me to talk.

"What's wrong, Princess?" I asked.

At this time, we were continuing the Witch's Broom project in the Witch's Hat Dungeon court. We were still busy making the Gegen-Kuki Shield. While we were working, as usual, we talked about various things. Of course, our chat did not disturb or slow down our tasks.

Some of the topics we talked about were: the anagram "Magic Women hatred", soki-OSHI-kosa from the Kana sequence matrix, postal code 10230 and ship-plane 1023-0, password 0.13021 and the height of our earth's atmosphere, and 0.13021 which seems to be a constant for many things in our Witches Broom creation work.

Magic women hatred is a term that emerged from Mr. Warm's message to our e-mail. I discussed with the Princess that the term was an anagram of each of our passwords when taking the Jonquil Magic Ball, namely Ideogram and Watchmen. After that, ideogram and watchmen became anagrams of "A Comrade, New Might" and "Magic Wand Theorem". We suspected that from the beginning, Mr. Warm already had a certain intention when he included the term "magic women hatred" in his e-mail message.

Soki, Osshi, and Kosa are three words that appear if we ignore the last column of the kana order matrix. The kana that are ignored in the last column of the matrix are ku, su, and ke.

so ki ku
o shi su
ko sa ke

Soki are two words that have the same sound but have different meanings that are written in -allegedly- Mr. Warm's suicide letter. Oshi is a brand of sake created by Mr. Warm. Kosa is the middle name of Mr. Warm's younger brother. Could these three - or all four - be related? We don't know the exact answer.

The postal code 10230 that appears from the Hexeneinmaleins matrix has similarities with the name of the ship-plane designed by Mr. Wernherluft, named 1023-O. Mr. Warm has been known as someone who has openly expressed his dislike of Mr. Wernherlufft's closeness to military personnel. But is it possible that Mr. Warm and Mr. Wernherluft, behind the scenes, have a closer bond? We don't know the exact answer.

Password 0.13021 is a password that we get from the result of dividing the first 5 numbers by the last 5 numbers of the Hexeneinmaleins matrix. We casually did a mathematical operation with the equation "the height of our Earth's atmosphere divided by the password number". The result is: 10230 kilometers * 0.13021 = 1332. This result is the same as the thickness of the Quietus Cloud, which reaches 1332 kilometers. Could Mr. Warm and the Quietus Cloud - for this, there are so many questions, and we don't know the exact answer.

0.13021 seems to be a constant in many things related to making Witch Brooms. The main room of the Witch Hat dungeon is 65 meters high and 130 meters in diameter. The witch's staff, as our dungeon key, is 26,042 centimeters long. All of that can be calculated with the constant 0.13021. Not only those things, there are many other aspects that can be calculated with that constant.

"What's wrong, princess?" I asked again because the princess seemed not to continue the conversation.

This time, the princess responded, "You know, Polyops, it seems my family has started talking about you."

"Oh?" I only reacted with one word.

The princess explained, “It seems that Sisy was the main source. Then there were also my three bodyguards who came to the Republic of Poland at that time.”

“Then?” I asked to get the princess to continue her story.

The princess continued, “Then my brother asked about you. Then my mother and father did the same.”

I asked, “In general, what did you tell them?”

The princess stated, “It seems that my family suspected that I was doing business with you.”

I said, “Yes, that’s actually true, isn’t it?”

The princess replied, “Yes.”

I stated the conclusion, “So, there’s no problem, right?”

The princess said. “Yes, there’s no problem at all.”

The princess then changed the topic to something more serious, to our current business, “Oh, look, this is going to be steady, isn't it?”

Nanzu, who was standing beside me, seemed to be looking at me from head to toe. At that time, I, who was closing my eyes, sat on the lounge chair provided by the Dome Hessestadt laboratory. It was indeed lunch break time. Even though I didn’t open my eyes, I could feel Nanzu’s presence and what he was doing. Without opening my eyes, I asked, “What’s wrong, Nanzu?”

Nanzu honestly answered, “You seem more tired lately.”

I didn’t try to deny what Nanzu said, “Yes. That’s probably true. I won’t argue about it.”

By then, I had opened my eyes and found Nanzu sitting on the bean bag next to the lounge chair. He said, “Well. Maybe you really should work more. Maybe you’re making something interesting outside of the Five.”

“That’s it,” I answered briefly.

Nanzu commented, “However, you should also pay attention to your body. Don’t push yourself too hard if you feel like the burden is too heavy.”

I smiled at Nanzu’s advice and replied, “Yes, that’s it. Even though I prefer to finish things as quickly as possible, I can’t forget about myself.”

Nanzu smiled and gave another piece of advice, “Well, that’s it. No matter how big the rock we have to lift, take a break if you feel really tired.”
