Chapter 5:

A Strange Girl!

He Turned into a She!

Luna and Ethan stepped out of the principal’s office, walking quietly toward the dorms.
Ethan gave Luna a playful smack on the shoulder and flashed a mischievous grin.
“You’ve gotten really good at charming people, haven’t you, little trickster?”

Luna blushed—then instantly kicked Ethan straight in the groin.
“For the thousandth time, stop making those jokes, you idiot!”

Ethan collapsed to the ground, groaning in pain.
“Luna… we’ve got a big problem,” he gasped.

Luna’s heart skipped. She looked at him, suddenly nervous.
“What is it? Tell me already!”

Ethan sat up a bit, still wincing.
“This time… it hurt way more than usual.”

Luna blinked at him, confused—then suddenly a bunch of thoughts came rushing in.
“Ethan…” she said slowly. Ethan glanced up at her.
“I can’t go to the boys’ dorm anymore. Which means... I’ve got no clothes. No stuff.”

Her voice dropped into a terrifying tone.
“And even if I did find my old clothes, everyone would figure out I’m the same Leo from before…”

She let out a stressed chuckle—and slammed her forehead into the ground for the fifth time.

Now Luna was sitting cross-legged on the ground, visibly stressed and deep in thought.
Suddenly, Ethan’s eyes lit up.

“I’ve got it! I can call Nina—we’ll go shopping for all the stuff a girl needs. How’s that sound?”

Luna looked absolutely disgusted... but after a moment of silent horror, she nodded in agreement.

A few minutes later, Nina arrived. She was as cheerful and energetic as ever. Ethan wasted no time striking up conversation.

“Ninaaaaa! What’s up? Sorry for dragging you all the way out here—hope we didn’t interrupt anything.”

Nina beamed at him with her usual sweet and sunny smile.
“Heeey! Don’t worry about it! What else would a student like me be doing other than hanging out at the mall?”

She turned to Luna.
“And this… this…—” she leaned in until her face was nearly touching Luna’s “—who is this gorgeous girl?!”

She fluttered around Luna like a butterfly.
“Where’d you get your hair done? Do you work out every day? What shampoo do you use?!”

Luna stood frozen with a poker face, silently begging Ethan to interrupt.
He cleared his throat, and Nina finally turned back to him.

“Nina, this is Luna. She’s a relative of mine. Just arrived in town today, but her suitcase was stolen. She needed to go shopping, and I thought you’d be the perfect person to help.”

Nina’s eyes sparkled.
“We’re going shopping? The three of us?!”

Then she gave Ethan a devilish smirk.
“You just wanna see your cute cousin try on outfits, don’t you, you little perv?”

Ethan glanced nervously at Luna’s terrifying expression and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
“I—I’m not going inside! I’ll just… stay with you in the common areas!”

They arrived at the shopping center near their school. Unfortunately, Luna was still wearing just a short pair of shorts and a tank top.

Nina found a clothing store and dragged Luna in, giggling.
“Okay, Luna! First, let’s get you out of that outfit. We’ll buy something comfy for now and then grab a couple extra sets so you’re not left without clothes again.”

She handed Luna an outfit and practically shoved her into the fitting room.
While Luna was changing, Nina brought Ethan to stand by the dressing room door.

“Nina, wait—what are you doing? Luna’s gonna lose it if I—”

She clamped her hand over Ethan’s mouth.
“Shhh. Just watch and enjoy.”

Luna opened the door. She was wearing a long pink t-shirt and tight denim shorts. Nina practically fainted from the cuteness.

But in the next moment, Luna karate-chopped Ethan in the neck and hurled him out of the store.
“Perv! Get out—and don’t come back unless we call you!”

Luna bought two more sets in different colors, and they left the shop.

Nina was still bursting with energy, while Luna and Ethan looked like they were about to pass out.

Nina walked ahead, then slowed down to match their pace.
“Alright, Luna sweetie, next stop—underwear shopping!”

Luna stopped dead in her tracks and bolted toward the exit.
“Thanks for the help, Nina, but I think I’ll be heading out now!”

Nina caught her from behind and smiled sweetly.
“No way you’re leaving without buying those! Now get back in there and help me find a lingerie shop!”

Eventually, they found one (though Ethan got a swift kick to the stomach when he tried to follow them in).

Nina was practically skipping around like a kid at an amusement park.
“Okay Luna! Time to start picking stuff out!”

Luna was sweating bullets, pale with panic, and silently nodded.
In her mind:
“I used to be a proud 20-year-old guy… Now I have to buy women’s underwear for myself?! Are you kidding me?!”

She glanced around.
No wall to slam her head against this time.

Nina returned with a yellow set that matched Luna’s hair and held it up.
“Hey Luna! What do you think? Like it?”

Luna’s face went beet red as she nodded awkwardly.
They stared at each other for a moment… then Nina made a goofy face.

“Why are you staring at me like that?”

Luna, still flushed and sweating:
“Because you were staring first… Is something wrong?”

Nina, deadpan, smacked Luna in the face with the underwear set.
“I’m not the one who’s supposed to wear this—you are! Now go try it on!”

Luna nearly had a mental breakdown.
“There’s no way I’m putting that on in front of all these people—especially Ethan, that jerk!!”

With a forced smile and cold sweat on her face, she turned to Nina.
“You know what? Maybe I’ll just buy a few and try them on later… What do you think?”

Nina gave her a blank, unreadable look—
Then grabbed her and dragged her into the changing room, ripping her clothes off as Luna’s scream echoed through the store.

By the time they left the mall, it was already dark outside.
Luna looked like she’d been emotionally shredded, while Nina was still cheerful and lively.

As they walked, Nina turned to Luna and asked,
“By the way, did you find a dorm room to stay in?”

Both Luna and Ethan froze.
Luna blinked.
“What do you mean ‘find’ one?”

“Well, you’re supposed to get assigned a room at the dorms. Didn’t you know?”

Inside her head, Luna was screaming:
“Damn it!! Since Ethan and I used to be the school bullies, no one ever dared question us… But now what? Where am I supposed to go?!”

It was obvious from her panicked face that she had no clue.

Nina smiled warmly, her eyes sparkling.
“Lunaaa~!” She dashed forward and hugged her tight.
“You can be my roommate, cutie!!!”

Luna’s eyes went wide.
“Whaaaaat?!”

Ethan stood behind them, watching. …Maybe he was a little jealous. That ten-year friendship with his old buddy was starting to feel just a bit more distant.
