Chapter 12: Zeth and Sasha vs Heaven and Hell

Zeth and Sasha are surrounded by the forces of Heaven and Hell. Those on each side give hateful stares to each other.

A male angel points at the demons of Hell, gritting his teeth. “What are you assholes doing here?”

“We could ask you the same thing,” replies an angry male demon.

Zeth and Sasha look at the forces surrounding them with determination.

“Soul Power,” Zeth and Sasha say in unison.

They activate their Soul Power, surrounding their bodies with a soul-powered aura that comes off like a smoky substance.

Zeth looks over at Heaven’s forces. “I really don’t want to hurt you guys. Just let us through.”

“You already hurt us by becoming a heretic!” a female angel shouts.

Zeth lowers his gaze to the ground in disappointment, but then he looks back up with determination. “Just don’t say I didn’t give you an option.”

Many of the lower-ranking soldiers of Heaven and Hell rush in to attack Zeth and Sasha, who look ready to fight. The lower-ranking soldiers are no match for Zeth and Sasha, who easily defeat all of them with just punches and kicks.

With a new opening, Zeth and Sasha start running as the remaining forces of Heaven and Hell chase after them. The forces of Heaven and Hell release projectile magic attacks at them, but Zeth releases a Soul Shine Blast down at the ground in front of them, causing a blast that blows them all away, including Sapphire.

With those forces dealt with, Zeth and Sasha continue running once more.

Four Miles Left.

Before they can go any further, a barrage of fireballs heads toward them. They dive out of the way to dodge. The one who threw the fireballs was Hamura.

“You can’t leave just yet,” Hamura says playfully.

“We’ll go through you too if we have to,” Sasha replies.

Zaydra and Zenfaro also show up from behind.

Zeth furrows his brows. “And now they’re back.”

“There will be no more running for you,” Zaydra states.

“Just turn yourself in already,” Zenfaro commands.

Hamura eyes Zaydra and Zenfaro with disgust. “Back away from my prey. I will deal with you two afterwards.”

Hamura releases her red energy scarf, expanding forward until it wraps around Zeth and Sasha. She then flings them in the air, where the scarf explodes.

Zaydra and Zenfaro look directly at Hamura, their eyes narrowed, teeth and fists clenched.

“How dare you use a fake explosion to cover for their escape!” Zaydra yells.

Hamura raises an eyebrow in confusion. “Huh?”

A Soul Shine Blast and a Demon Soul Beam both come out from the smoke of the explosion and hit the ground near the three of them, causing a large explosion. Zeth and Sasha land on the ground and run again. They did take some damage from Hamura’s attack. However, Zaydra, Zenfaro, and Hamura all launch out from the smoke, damaged from the attacks. They quickly catch up, allowing Hamura to tackle Sasha while Zaydra and Zenfaro tackle Zeth.

“You’re coming with us, heretic!” Zaydra demands.

“Hell no!” Zeth replies, still determined.

Zenfaro punches Zeth in the face, upset with Zeth’s reply.

Zaydra further loses her cool and yells, “So, you are siding with hell based on that reply!!”

Meanwhile, Hamura questions Sasha.

“How did you fall for him so easily?” Hamura asks.

“I’ve come to love him. There is no further explanation.” Sasha replies.

Hamura punches Sasha in the face, unaccepting of her response.

Zeth and Sasha state in unison, “You can’t stop us.”

They both break free and unleash a barrage of punches against their tacklers. Zeth then blows Zaydra and Zenfaro away with a Soul Shooting Star while Sasha blows Hamura away using a Demon Soul Beam.

“All right! Let’s get back to it!” Zeth shouts.

Zeth and Sasha continue running toward the cliffside.

Three Miles Left.

“Not much farther!” Zeth says with determination.

“We can make it!” Sasha says with a combination of excitement and determination.

However, they are stopped again when they encounter more forces of Heaven and Hell. Notable members of Heaven include the generals, Grinton and Zentano, as well as the rest of Zaydra’s team, Kren, Bonetru, Kerdon, and Ruby. Notable members of Hell include Korobu, Gentorious, Sherra, Zepto, Vollmond, and Misha.

Zeth rubs the back of his head, becoming increasingly annoyed. “This is just great.”

“They are determined to stop us, and they’re not even working together,” Sasha responds.

With no other options, Zeth and Sasha rush toward their enemies.

Zeth and Sasha went into battle massively outnumbered. But they were confident in their Soul Power. It wasn’t easy, but they were able to blow through their enemies and get within one mile of their destination.

Zeth and Sasha are now close to the cliffside. They have suffered a lot more wounds from their battle. As they get closer, two figures walk up to the cliff edge. Zeth and Sasha can see them from down below, and open their eyes wide. The two figures are Harmona and Dakame, who are not right next to each other. Rather, they are a decent distance apart.

Zeth’s eyes tremble, and he clenches his teeth, the nerves surfacing. “I can’t believe…”

Unease setting in, Sasha clenches her fist. “Are they really this desperate?”

Harmona and Dakame both look down disapprovingly at their children.

Harmona narrows her eyes. “Zeth…”

Dakame narrows her eyes. “Sasha…”

Narrator: Zeth and Sasha are so close. But now they must go up against the Light Goddess and Dark Goddess to obtain their freedom! To be concluded in the next chapter!
