A Sudden Company Order

Out of the blue, Shota received an order from his company: a two-week business trip to Singapore.

For Shota, it was a golden opportunity to gain overseas work experience. But for Ryoko—it was a total nightmare.

“What!? Two weeks!? No way!!”

The moment he got home, Ryoko screamed.

“Well, it’s a great opportunity, and I want to test my abilities.”

Seeing Shota’s serious expression, Ryoko clenched her teeth. She understood he was trying to grow through his job. But that didn’t mean she could handle being apart for two whole weeks.

So naturally—Ryoko began plotting.

Strategy ①: Convince the Company to Let Her Go Too

“Fine. I’ll talk to the company and go with you to Singapore.”

“No way! If you come, you’ll take care of everything and I won’t learn anything!”

“And that’s… a problem why?”

“Because it would stunt my personal growth!!”

Ryoko groaned in frustration. Shota, who usually loved being pampered by her, could be stubborn at the worst times.

Strategy ②: Use His English Weakness Against Him

“Shota-kun, you’re bad at English, right? Singapore’s an English-speaking country. You’ll totally struggle without me.”

“I’ll just have to be brave and push through it!”

“Whoa… that’s some serious growth energy you’re channeling…”

“Exactly! And come on, Ryoko-senpai—graduating med school, studying abroad—why are you even working at the same company as me!? You’re ridiculously overqualified!”

Ryoko murmured quietly:

“Because… I just want to be near you.”

It was way too cute. Totally cheating.

Strategy ③: Use Her Powers to Instill Anxiety

“If you’re dead set on going, maybe you should feel a little more nervous.”

Ryoko stepped closer, activating her hormone control ability. A subtle anxiety bloomed in Shota’s chest… but—

“Hm? This feels like Ryoko-senpai’s doing! Yep, this is definitely some ability messing with me!”

Shota shuddered, resisting the sensation. Thanks to regular exposure, he had grown immune to her subtle emotional manipulations.

“Ugh… Adaptation is terrifying…”

Final Strategy ④: Forceful Interference

“That’s it!! I’m stopping this by force!!”

Bang! The table levitated.

And then—so did the rest of the furniture.

“Shota! I’m not letting you go alone!! You’re taking me with you!!”

With fury in her voice, Ryoko launched cushions and small items toward him.

But just before they hit—everything dropped harmlessly to the floor.

No matter how angry she was, she could never bring herself to hurt him.

“...Ugh. Why did I have to fall for you this hard…?”

Eyes downcast, Ryoko muttered in frustration. Shota gently patted her head.

“Thanks, Ryoko-senpai. But this is something I need to do. Will you wait for me?”

She was quiet for a moment, then gave a small nod.

“…Fine. But you’d better message me every day, okay?”

“Of course!”

“…And if you don’t, I’m coming to get you.”

“Okay that’s a little scary!”

Thus, the battle over Shota’s business trip came to a close.

But whether Ryoko would truly wait patiently for his return…

No one could say for sure.
