The day I died

I didn't know what had happened as the world turned from it's colorful shades to black and white, then to red before everything finally started fading to black.
'You will be safe' I heard echoing through the narrow passage I had gotten myself stuck in. A hole had been punctured through my stomach, I knew there was no way I could ever come out alive. It didn't take long for the pain to fade away with my consciousness, 'This is the end.' was the final thought I was able to produce before my consciousness had completely faded away.
I was done for, and there was no coming back.
