Chapter 14:

Break-Up Talk - Desecration Arc

Engulfed in Darkness - Becoming a Villain in Another World (Part II)

Kage turned his back on the group and walked away. He would have liked to have been surprised, but he wasn't. All four of the friends had completely different ideals of life that made them quarrel a lot. The love was there, sometimes they just struggled to show it. He knew eventually that they would come together once again for the threat at hand.

They just needed a good kick in the right direction.

Wisteria led Hiroshi into the forest. Deeper and deeper, right past the treeline. Hiroshi began to get nervous. What did she want to talk to him about? And why the secrecy? Was it that private?

Did she want to break up with him? Anything but that. It couldn't be that...could it?

Without warning, Wisteria stopped dead in her tracks. They had walked over two hundred paces into the forest from their training ground. Her body began to shake. Hiroshi became even more nervous. She was shaking in anger.

"She can't stand me anymore," he thought to himself, sweat beading nonstop off his forehead. Crap. Crap. Crap!

Wisteria finally turned to face Hiroshi after what seemed like forever. The man expected to see his partner with a red face full of rage, barely able to contain her anger, before lashing out and giving him a mouthful over his actions. He expected her to say that Bibi should leave and never return, and if they couldn't agree, she would leave herself.

However, the look on Wisteria's face wasn't anger, not full of rage, not even a small bit of annoyed was eteched into her face.

Wisteria was crying.

"Woah! Wisteria what's wrong, babe?!" Hiroshi blurted out in shock. It was the exact opposite reaction of what he had expected. She ran into his arms, forcing him into a tight hug. Hiroshi struggled to breath. He could feel her ice cold hands on his lower back, getting slightly warmer by the second with his body heat.

"I'm so sorry Oshi! I really don't know what I'm doing! I thought that Bibi really hurt you, and I didn't want to see you be hurt again! I don't know why I went to punch you! Tomokazu had it in my head that she was a treat...and...and..."

She was hardly audible through her nonstop sobbing. Hiroshi decided to rub her hair softly, which she accepted with grace. Hiroshi was beginning to get angry himself. He knew that Tomokazu had put something in her head. There was no way that she would ever attack him, even if provoked to. Which he wouldn't anyway.

He wasn't Grant.

"It's alright, Wisteria. I promise," he looked down at her, a warm smile on his face. "I understand you're scared. Just make sure you run things by me first, alright? Bibi is going to be totally fine on this mission. Trust me. Communication is important in a relationship. I want us to be even closer. Would you like that too?"

Wisteria looked up at him with her bright emerald green eyes. Her tears were the color of the ocean, like soft waves on a low tide. Her face went from upset to hopeful in an instant.

"So, you don't want to break up with me? Even after all that?"

"What?! No, Wisteria! I love you so much. It was just a bad judgement call. That's what being a couple is all about. No matter our differences or arguments, we will love one another until the end. We get over our differences, and come together and agree. That's what love is about," Hiroshi smiled, and leaned down, pulling Wisteria into a soft kiss. Wisteria accepted it without hesitation, closing her eyes and allowing the moment to happen.

Hiroshi was surprised Wisteria thought the same thing as him. A break-up talk. Well, it still kind of was. Just a more positive one than Hiroshi hoped. They parted from the kiss, and Hiroshi's heart jumped. It was at that moment he realized that he loved Wisteria more than he thought. Prehaps even more than he loved Blossom. With another tight hug, the two headed back into the village.

Meanwhile, Zetsubo Onuki was in his lab, talking to his number two in command, Anwir. The Ardor of Hope sat down at his desk, his feet up, nice and relaxed. He used to fear the young man called Hiroshi Akuma. Now, he didn't even interest him. The Desecrators would simply dispose of him. Then, he would destroy those clones with his own hand, balancing peace once more.

The public would favour him.

"Did you evenly distribute the other seven Desecrators, Anwir?" He asked his friend, who gave a raised eyebrow look that said 'of course I did'. Zetsubo laughed, and sat back in his chair. "Well done. It's all just a matter of time now."

"Are you not nervous about the fact they have already destroyed one of them?" Anwir asked his boss, both men unaware that they took the body home with them to study. The broadcast ended after Hiroshi dealt the killing blow.

"Nope not at all. He was so much weaker than the rest of them anyway. You should be impressed though. That daughter of yours has really grown. See how she blasted Hiroshi away?! That had me laughing my socks off!" The man leaned back in his chair, clutching his stomach in laughter.

Anwir narrowed his eyes. His predictions told him that there was a ninety percent chance that Zetsubo had gotten cocky and stubborn after beating him so badly at the Tournament last year.

"No. Aiai would have done that too, and worse," Anwir sighed. "She is and will always be a failure in my eyes."

"Harsh much? Sometimes I think you are more corrupt than me!" Zetsubo replied with another chuckle, and Anwir smirked to himself.

"That's because I am."
