Chapter 1:

Welcome To Utopia

The Revelation of Utopia

After what seemed like an eternity-long rest, I woke up in a completely different environment. The room was humungous; it was filled with expensive-looking decorations and furniture. Even the walls were trimmed with golden accents. The bed I woke up in was definitely king-sized and had a red canopy over the top. I had no clue where I was, but I could a hundred percent guarantee this was not the Nurse's office. It was not my bedroom either, in fact my room is about twenty times smaller than the mysterious room that I'm currently in. I didn't want to get up and start wandering around as I'm not sure where I am or who brought me here, but I have to figure out where I am otherwise I'll be late.
"Late?" I murmured to myself, "Late for what?"
I pondered deeply as I tried to remember what happened before passing out. No thought came to mind. After a moment or so, I came to the conclusion that it didn't really matter and that my top priority should be finding out where I am.
Cautiously, I climbed out of the bed and walked over to the window to the right of me. I took in the scenery and instantly became puzzled. There was a town below which looked incredibly old-fashioned, nothing like you would see nowadays. It had the appearance like it was taken straight out of a history textbook or fantasy novel. However, this wasn't the only odd sighting. Scattered around the town, were trees with glowing, purple leaves. The sun was beaming down incandescently on the village, leaving no dim spots of shade. As I was trying to process all of this new information and scenery, there was a politely-toned knock at the door.
"Come in" I responded in a confused manner. The door opened slowly and stood there was a female maid with long, light-blue hair and eyes of matching colour.
"Please excuse my interruption, sir" the maid apologised in an elegant and very soothing tone whilst bowing slightly, "Chancellor Reinald has asked to see you immediately."
"Chancellor Reinald?" I questioned.
"I know you must have a lot of questions, and I assure you they will all be answered if you follow me to his office" the maid answered.
"May I at least ask what your name is?"
"It is Ela."
After that short response, I didn't have the social capabilities to ask any further questions or discuss any topics. Instead we walked to his office in silence. Whilst on our journey though, I was using this time to take in my surroundings. The building I was in was palace-like from the inside. It was gigantic compared to a normal house and the interior was extremely posh. Whilst this was a very new environment for me, I could make one guaranteed deduction that I was in a place that was foreign to my memory.
"Am I even on earth anymore?" I wondered to myself, but I completely erased that thought from my mind. It was impractical to even think something like that happened. How could you even begin to start explaining that whilst following the laws of science and nature. Nevertheless, I continued following Ela so I could figure out where I was and whose custody I was in.

After a few minutes of walking, we arrived at a set of towering double-doors, tall enough to fit a giant through them. Ela knocked on the door lightly and excused herself for entering. As I walked through I noticed one buff-looking guy with no hair sat at his desk at the end of the room, with a guy standing next to him. The person standing next to him having green hair, wearing glasses, and looking a lot thinner than the bodybuilder sat beside him. Stood opposite to the pair were three people: a prideful-looking, tall chap with purple hair, a man who looked average height with brown hair, and then fina-
"Sora?!" I exclaimed, "Is that you?"
"Yoru? So you're here too, huh?" Sora replied, looking just as confused as I am about this whole situation. Although I must admit, the weight of tension on my shoulders definitely felt a lot lighter when I learned a good friend of mine was accompanying me.
"Welcome, Chihara Yoru." said the bald bodybuilder with a stern voice. This man definitely meant business. In fact, it totally wouldn't surprise me if this man's next words were I've been expecting you. "Please join us, we don't have a lot of time."
It seems my prediction was wrong, but this conversation still seems very important, so I remained composed as I walked over to join the other three Japanese men side-by-side.
"Sakaguchi Ryoichi. Nakajima Morimasa. Morishita Sora. Chihara Yoru. My name is Chancellor Reinald, and beside me is Vice-Chancellor Gylbart. It is a pleasure to meet you all" Chancellor Reinald started the discussion.
"Likewise" the brown-haired dude, Nakajima Morimasa, responded whilst acting very spacey. It was like he was living in his own world.
"Enough with the greetings and shit! Where are we and why are we here?" the purple haired man, Sakaguchi Ryoichi, perked up, demanding answers.
"Very well. You are now in the country of Medrea. You would not have heard of our country, as you have been summoned from your world into our one" the Chancellor responded, "As for the reason why, you four have been summoned here as our country's Heroes because of the upcoming apocalypse about to hit us."
"Apocalypse? And why have we been selected?" questioned Sora, clearly taken aback just like the rest of us after hearing that we are in a completely different world.
"It is known as the Revelation" this time the Vice-Chancellor answered, "it happens once every one-hundred years. The reason for this event is unknown, but it causes mass destruction and genocide as horrific creatures and ghouls that we call Xukugites are summoned. These Xukugites are brainless, but lust for blood and destruction."
"Only very strong individuals can kill and repel multiple of these creatures at once, at this point in time, it would be myself, Vice-Chancellor Gylbart, you four, and a couple other strong knights from our country who could individually fend off these fiends. We then bulk up on numbers, weak or strong, to fight any that may slip through the cracks." Chancellor Reinald chimed in. "Now for the reason why you four specifically were summoned, we can only half-answer this. For you to properly understand, we must first explain how magic in our world works and how we utilise its usage in the country."
The Chancellor laid out a large sheet of paper across his desk, filled with lists, pictures and diagrams. I began to read the different sections on the knowledge map in front of me.

Magic Rankings
Every person in the country is assigned one of five ranks based on their magical abilities. The way these rankings are decided are based on three key segments: the potency of one's magic, how well one can use their magic, and the beauty of one's magic. Below are the rankings from most to least adept magic users:
1. Bastion
2. Grandmaster
3. Archmage
4. Wizard
5. Mage

Magic Types
There are ten types of magic that exist in our world. The basic elements are Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth. There are the rare elements Light and Dark, that only very few in this world are wielders of. The Hero elements are Gravity, Shadow, Spatial, and Cryo. The last element is Blood, although this is a taboo magic that has not been seen or reported in the last five-hundred years.

Magic Deities
Each magical element has its own deity, who are the ones who bless us with magical power. Your affinity with your magic will be decided by the deity that represents your magic type. We are only aware of the identities of four of the deities: Agni of the Flame, Hydros of the Seas, Zephyr of the Wind, and Nerthus of the Earth. We are yet to discover and interact with the other deities.

This knowledge seemed very useful and simple enough to remember. There are still so many unanswered questions, but where would I even begin?
"I hope you all understand the information presented to you well. Now as to why you are here, the magic deities of the hero types would have elected one person each from your world with the highest affinity to their magic type" the Vice-Chancellor followed up, "That's all we know regarding your summoning. As to why you have the highest affinity, we do not know this."
"So what happens now?" I asked on behalf of the group.
"Firstly, we need to find out which type of magic each of you possess, then we begin training you ready for the Revelation which is prophesised to start in exactly a month's time" the Chancellor replied, "Of course, you will all be extremely rewarded with money, power, women, and whatever else your hearts may desire. In other words, we will set you for life as compensation for defending our country."
"Question, is there any way back to our original world?" Sora chirped in with a very reasonable query.
"Unfortunately, not that we're aware of, Morishita" remorsefully replied the Chancellor, "you four are our only hope. We also promise to prioritise helping you find a way back home once the Revelation is over if that is your wish."
We all agreed, some of us reluctantly given the risks, and some of us eagerly, ready for a new chapter of our lives. Is my wish of an easy life finally coming true?
