Chapter 2:

Be Cautious

Loneliness is a Concept

One move. One wrong move, or word, is all it takes. It’s open. Out there for all to see. If you mess up, you mess up. And people can barely forgive, you see. It’s just how it is. Especially if you’ve been alone most of the time, it hits you the hardest. You can try so so hard to gain someone’s trust. For them to - finally be with you. A friend. A real friend. And one wrong move - even if it’s out of purely good intentions - everything shatters.

Human behaviour is... interesting. Their thoughts, emotions. How they react. Is there a pattern to it, perhaps? People might end up reacting the same way as each other. Although, you hear the phrase ‘everyone is unique’ a lot. Perhaps, the pattern lies in the person themselves? To feel - lonely. Can loneliness be a concept? An idea? What is loneliness meant to be like? Being alone, with no one next to you? Or being alone, with no one to support you?She shattered it. She wanted to help, even if it meant just - isolating herself for that moment. And it hurt her friend, and that friendship was broken. There seems to be quite the pattern. How often has this type of event occurred? Quite a lot, it seems. Maybe it is time for her to block people off. To - live a life of loneliness, because that is what truly protects her and the people around her.

...

Lilin couldn't sleep. Her bed - felt cold. Her hands and feet were freezing and felt numb. The ticking of the clock - as every second passes by - she could hear it.
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
She stared at the ceiling. It was filled with - nothing. Just a white, plain ceiling, with nothing. At least, the light was out of her sight. The only comfort she had in this suffocating room was her bunny plush - her first gift every. A pink and soft bunny plushie, which she always cuddled in bed. A friend, perhaps? No.

It was late. A week ago, around this time, she would've been headed home from the orphanage after that event happened. She couldn't stop repeating it in her mind - the names they called her, the horrified face before death took them. It... was scarring.

The teen had heard stories from people who have killed - or was on the very edge of the cliff.
