Chapter 2:
CyberRock!!!
Every time something strange happens, I find myself in a situation where I can't move. First, the machine lady thingy, I still don't know what to call that, next, the bed where I was too weak to even get out of, but this time was different. Regaining consciousness this time, I was pleasantly surprised to be able to see where I was. It's a nice wooden room, not too big but not too small either. Besides the bed I'm on, there's nothing else inside here except for a window with curtains covering it. Oh, and there was a weird person just standing there, but I guess that's not important.
Right, all the things a normal room has, bed, window, curtains, and a strange blue-haired lady standing by my window..... no, that's not right. It's the same woman who was with me in the air, but this time I'm not even surprised by their appearance. The same rough edges plague their entire body like fingernails growing for way too long. The diamond edges are clearly pointy enough to be classified as a weapon. Her body is far too rigid to even be considered a "body" at this point.
"Hey, who are you?" I asked while sitting up straight. However, she doesn't even acknowledge my existence; it's like I'm completely invisible. Now I'm annoyed, if it's one thing I hate more than anything, it's being ignored; it's like being reduced to less than a bug in my eyes, so I'm about to speak my mind!
"YOU! WHO ARE YOU?" I screamed again, but once again, there was no response. But instead of thinking she's treating me like a bug, I'm starting to think that I'm just speaking to a brick wall. That's when I get the sudden shock of my situation. I literally fell out of an elevator into the sky, got grabbed by a...whatever she is, fell to my death, yet woke up in a bed, and now I'm in another bed, with that same girl who is now next to me. That's not even going over that being I saw in the void.
I finally stand up from my bed and go to get her attention by placing my hand on her shoulder, 5 steps away, 4 steps away, 3 steps away. I get closer and closer, but the closer I get, the more scared I get. The sharp edges on her body aren't welcoming at all, and almost as if it were on cue, the door to the room slams open, welcoming a voice that I didn't want to hear again.
"Knock knock, Kent!" that voice...you gotta be kidding me, not this guy again. I take a look at the source of what I'm now claiming to be the most annoying possible sound to be produced by a human.
"Heard ya asking - "Ohhh who are youuuu" so I'll tell you who I am!" the big figure said while pointing at himself, smiling the entire time, every word that comes out of this guys mouth makes me want to see if I'm in a tall building and take a quick `look` outside the window.
"The names Rogers, they also call me Roger, Rog, Rock, Rocks- blah blah blah wom blah blah" He just keeps talking! All I can hear is blah blah now. Giving him an annoyed look, I just came out and asked him, "Where am I? What's going on?"
He continues smirking and responds, "Welcome to CyberRock, and we put a bomb in your chest!!!"
"What?" I said
"Welcome to CyberRock, and we put a bomb in yo-!" he starts to say before putting my hand up and quickly responding with "Stop." Alright then, my situation has gone from bad to worse; they want me for some reason, but I can't think of a single reason why.
"As far as what's going on!" Rogers starts to say, "We want you to help us take down the Machinist!!!" Oh my god..... "We ran the scans on your body. We've been looking for someone like you for a long time, someone who has connections to him, so come on, let's go to the meeting room!" Rogers grabs me by the arm with his freakishly large hand and brings me to whatever room he was talking about.
"Where are we going!? Cmon, at least answer some more questions!" I yell, but I'm ignored yet again. Rogers lets me go and simply signals me to follow him.
The "meeting room" was practically just down the hall from where I was, behind two large double doors, the hulk that's dragging me opens the door and I'm greeted to a large metal desk it looks like it can seat around 7 people but if I assume that Rogers sits there then it'd be more made for 5 people. Then I see a really familiar face, yeah, that's her, it's the same girl I saw while I was in bed last time I was awake.
She's still wearing the same black suit that I witnessed her wearing while I was half-conscious.
"Welcome, Kent. I am Captain Orange, and welcome to CyberRock. By the way, I put a bomb in your chest." Despite her saying basically what Rogers said, it sounded 50 times less annoying; there was no grind or joking tone, and what she said was completely serious.
"Sit," she points towards one of the seats that are directly across from where she is. If there is a bomb in my chest, then the last thing I want to do is make her mad, so I walk towards the chair she pointed to and sit down.
"I'll cut to the chase, the bomb in your chest also acts as a lie detector, if you lie, you'll die, answer all the questions truthfully, and I'll remove the bomb from your chest," she says. I almost want to ask a question myself, but I'm way too terrified to ask anything else; this woman gives off an aura way more dangerous than that of Rogers. "Question 1, when were you born?"
A simple question, I know I just thought about it all I have to do is answer it, the day I was born, the day I was born...I don't remember, I search my thoughts, I think as hard as I can, but I don't remember my birthday. What am I supposed to say? I don't remember!? Even if I don't blow up, how am I supposed to say something as ignorant as that
"So you've already noticed that it doesn't exactly do anything if you don't say anything, fine." She stands up and looks directly behind her, and after that, I feel something cold on my left temple. Doesn't take a genius to know what was happening"You have 5 seconds, if you don't say anything, you will die." the captain said.
No, no, no, this can't be happening, would it really be a lie to say I don't remember?? No, I feel like she'll still have me killed if I say something like I don't know, but I'm going to have to, I have to! But even then, something doesn't feel right. I feel like I do know the answer, but something is stopping me from saying it. It's like something is reaching into my very soul, stopping me from even remembering the date.
"Four, three, two..."
Say something! I keep thinking to myself, no choice, I have to say it
"One..." then I yell out, "I don't remember!"
Beep beep beep, I don't know if it's in my head or if it's the bomb in my chest, but it's ringing in my ears, it's even more annoying than Rogers talking, it's driving me mad, I don't know what's happening.
"Beep beep." It's the same mechanical voice I heard earlier.
