‘So, Davos. I’ve been tending your friend's wound. Take a look at your friend’s thigh. Stitched these lacerate wounds right here. This one’s quite troublesome to heal, but with proper treatment, your friend will be fine, I assure you.’

‘Uh, thanks, Doc. How long do you think until my friend wakes up?’

‘About that, I’m not so sure. By the way, you haven’t told me the story yet.’

‘Well, it was my fault. We didn’t quite get where we wanted to go. We were surprised by a bunch of Undeaths, sucked the hell out of our light, then we desperately ran away like crazy, until my friend here collapsed on its own, fell down while we climbed down the ladder.’

‘And you didn’t stop at the northwest beacon?’

‘Beacon? I didn’t see it. Damn rubbles everywhere. Plus I was carrying my friend.’

‘You aren’t kidding.’

‘We are idiots. We look for goodies like we try to find a forongi inside a shaper. I thought we could be well hunting treasures and such, but it was a stupid idea.’

‘At least you’re alive. Your friend here? Not so fortunate.’

‘I suppose so. If I weren’t lucky, then we’re done for.’

‘You see, I’ve been in the travel business for some time, and have been watching how these lightbringer do. I can’t really study in person because the group I’m travelling with is well organized, but the side effects of being in prolonged darkness, they exist.’

‘We didn’t even stay that long.’

‘I know right? But both of them are the same. You won’t notice at first, but their psyche will slowly worsen over time.’

‘Like what? You think my friend suddenly went insane when my friend fell off the ladder?’

‘No, I’m saying during your encounter with Undeaths. Your friend must’ve felt spooked, exerted too much light. Without enough light to support a person, the connection between the body and the soul widens. The paper here mentions hallucinations are the main symptoms. I’m not kidding.’

‘T-that ain’t right! What could’ve my friend’s saw?’

‘Try touching your friend. Have you noticed the change in their ‘heat’?’

‘Er, yes. Actually my friend’s arm is kinda cold.’

‘Those hallucinations I assume pulls your friend away from reality. When the soul and the body connection is severed, their body will grow cold, and it will be difficult for them to heal their wounds.’

‘No… Please, Doc! I’ll do anything! Tell me what I should do.’

‘I want you to give your friend this.’

‘What? You sure this is all I need?’

‘In the meantime, I want you to think carefully about what you do next. By the way, you’re looking for treasures, huh?’

‘Uh, right. They sound lucrative though.’

‘Then you should’ve not got lost out there. Fervil knows everything.’

‘But the guy’s scary. I always take bottles.’

‘Better than dead. I’m sure Fervil will warm up’

‘I can’t count on that, but thank you. I think I should leave for now.’

‘Alright, take care.’

‘I heard that they’ll visit soon… hihi… Where do you plan to go?’

‘I don’t know. I just follow them where they go. Didn’t know travelling with nice people was really that fun.’

‘Will you visit the other sector?’

‘I might? Heard there’s many smart people there.’

‘I’ll be lonely… huhu…’

‘Ah don’t worry much about it! When I get back, I’ll tell you wonderful stories!’

‘You will… hihi…’

‘Now then, my belongings are ready, robe, hat… check. Bottles, check. Oh, that’s right! My new boots haven’t come yet. I wonder when the next shipment will arrive.’
