Chapter 5:

How Is it possible?

Revenge in another world

The sun shone high over the village, I walked alongside Aria through the markets filled with people and merchants offering all kinds of magical objects and potions. After the monster attack, the village had regained some normalcy, but the tension could still be felt in the air.
Aria explained to me as we walked: "This world has very different rules. Magic is not just brute force; it's control, strategy... and knowledge. If you want to survive, you must learn to master it too."
I nodded, my gaze fixed on a small stall where an old man sold ancient scrolls. Something about the scrolls caught my attention: symbols that seemed to pulse with their own energy. Without knowing how, I understood them. I could read the enchantments, comprehend their effects, and, surprisingly, even feel how a part of that energy could be channeled through me.
"How is it possible...?" I murmured with eyes shining with a mix of surprise and ambition. Aria looked at me, curious and a bit concerned. "Kaoru... I think you have a unique talent. That... that doesn't happen every day. But you need to be careful; many might see you as a threat."
I took a deep breath, remembering Kiseki and the dark man who had taken everything from me. "I don't care how they see me. This power... I'll use it to avenge myself and protect those who matter to me," I said with a firm voice.
As we explored more streets, a young apprentice adventurer approached us, nervous but determined. "Excuse me... I heard you defeated the monsters yesterday. If you're looking for information, I know where you can find records of the enemies that attack this region."
Aria and I looked at each other. This was exactly what we needed: information about the enemies and possible clues about the dark man. I nodded, and the young man guided us to an ancient building, filled with maps and magical documents.
There, I spent hours studying the information. I learned about the different types of monsters, their weaknesses, the rival guilds, and rumors about a dark man who had appeared in distant regions, leaving destruction in his wake.
The anger reignited, more intense than ever. As I reviewed the documents, Piko appeared beside me, emitting a faint glow that pointed to certain scrolls with latent magical energy. I smiled slightly: I not only had human allies, but also magical ones that would help me grow.
At the end of the day, as the village prepared for the night, I sat on a rooftop, looking at the horizon. My fingers touched an ancient scroll, and my mind worked tirelessly. Every piece of information, every spell, and every clue brought me closer to my vengeance.
"This world... is just beginning to show me its power. And I... am just beginning to understand what I can do," I thought, with a cold and determined smile.
The night fell, and with it, a deep silence. But I knew that the real danger was out there, waiting for me, and that every step I took brought me closer to facing the darkness that had taken everything from me again.
