The day dawned with a tense air in the village. Aria and I walked through the streets when suddenly we heard screams coming from the market. The merchants and citizens ran in all directions, and a huge beast was in the midst of all the chaos: a monster with black scales, sharp fangs, and claws capable of destroying structures with ease.
"Another attack! This is a simulation!" Aria shouted, taking position in front of me. I looked at the monster calmly, although my heart was pounding strongly inside. It wasn't just any attack: my instinct told me that this creature was a high-level enemy, capable of putting everything I had learned so far to the test.
"Remember what we trained... analyze its movements, look for patterns and weaknesses," Aria whispered. I nodded with my gaze, and for the first time, I began to combine body, magic, and strategy completely.
Moving with precision, I dodged the monster's claws and, with a gesture, launched an elemental spell that exploded everything around, creating an impact that destabilized the enemy. The beast roared and attacked with greater ferocity, but I had already learned to anticipate each movement.
Every attack I executed seemed faster and more powerful than the human eye could follow. The villagers and adventurers from the guild watched open-mouthed: "That... That young man is defeating a high-level monster as if it were a simple obstacle?" they exclaimed in surprise.
Aria ran towards me, surprised and concerned. "Kaoru, calm down! If you destroy it like that... the village could suffer serious damage."
I lowered the intensity of the magic, but still maintained an intimidating presence. With shining eyes and a cold determination: I would never again feel powerless in the face of destruction.
With a final combined attack of sword and magic, I knocked down the beast, which fell heavily in the middle of the market, leaving an absolute silence.
At first, everyone looked with amazement and fear. Some approached slowly, not knowing whether to fear or admire. Aria sighed, placing herself beside me.
"Kaoru... this is... too much. No one should have power like this so quickly... but... I'm glad you're on our side."
When I turned to look at the fallen creature, I remembered my past, the dark man, and the girl I had lost. The anger I felt mixed with a clear resolution.
"This is just the beginning... and any enemy that gets in my way... will fall just like this one."
As the city began to recover from the attack, I felt a small change within me. It wasn't just brute force that I possessed, but a capacity to evaluate, plan, and overcome any challenge, something that made me a threat that even the strongest would begin to fear.
That night, as the sky darkened, I watched the village from the top of a rooftop, with Piko floating beside me. I had my gaze fixed on the horizon, and a firm thought crossed my mind: "If I want to avenge myself... I must be unstoppable. And no one... no one will stand in my way."
