Recollection + The Way Forward

 “You were not summoned but was transported because you were able to meet the conditions of our selection.” ———-

I remember this line echoed in my mind when I was trying to gather information during my first arrival in this world, but until now, I had completely forgotten about it.

Thinking back, everything began seven days ago, around 11pm while I was browsing anime in the dark on my smartphone, I was startled by a silhouette of strange animal which was either a young cat which was the size of a mongoose or some other animal, making scratching or rubbing noises in front of me at the windowsill situated on the side of my right hand. I was not sure what was creating that strange noise due to low visibility in the dark. At that time, while I shooed it away but could not ascertain its kind as it left in the blink of an eye, just as it had appeared out of nowhere. Next morning, I found out that it had left its two claw marks on the window sill. This had never happened before because nowhere such strange scratch marks on the window sill could be found.

Then for two days, unexpectedly, I had pleasant dreams for two consecutive days, then, a nightmare and then, again, pleasant dreams at night followed by unpleasant days which continued for three days. On the seventh day, when I was working on my research proposal, organizing and preparing ideas for my interview, then, a glowing magic circle inscribed with ineligible words and patterns appeared out of nowhere and then in a single moment, I was suddenly transported to this world. I had so much to do, so much work piled up. So many wishes to be fulfilled.

I am Hitomi Hope Daiho, an anime lover, loves gaining knowledge about various fields, currently in search of employment, aspiring for a PhD, studying for government exams. That was the plan for my future but now I have an unknown future filled with mortal danger because not counting the times, I will have to suffer physically and mentally in this journey if I am able to survive this journey without losing any limbs at all, then, it will be a blessing for me.

                       PRESENT MOMENT — THE WAY FORWARD

“As the saying goes, there is no point in crying over spilt milk, so, I should be optimistic and look forward to my journey and think of ways to find all the unexpected dangers and return home quickly”.

While muttering to herself, Hitomi was lying on the bed in the room assigned to her yesterday after her meeting with the spirits ended. This room also had nothing else except the bed as if this room had been hastily prepared for sleeping.

“Looking at the positive side, I will be able to travel to various lands and collect plenty of information which will increase my stock of knowledge. Though it will be filled with danger, the yellow light ball Mr. Supervisor had given a doll which will be responsible for answering my questions. He also said that in due time, the doll will show its other functions.”

Hitomi got up from the bed and took out the doll from the side drawer attached to the bed.

“A doll will be my travel companion, is it AI powered or magic?

Looking at it, it seems kind of interesting.”

While she was looking at it by turning it all over from all sides, then suddenly the doll spoke— “Stop turning me around over and over, I am Jilki Tdkikyyysfigey, an spirit. Stop toying with me”

Just as it said that, it grew wings and flew to a higher spot.

“ in this journey, I will be your guide to provide information about the various regions. And I will even assist you in various scenarios, if absolutely necessary. So start working. Your rest period is over. Its time to enter the first region”.
