Episode 47: Enemies from this world and beyond

A few days had passed since The Team arrived on planet Earth. They flew all around finding nothing but deserted and destroyed towns and cities. To make the most of their time, the girls learned the language from Taro and Shizuka while they ate the endless supplies of snacks from abandoned shops

Ari: -hause, trree, rroade, foode-

Taro: yes, very good

Nagye: -carr, waderr, skai-

Shizuka: good job, you guys learn quickly

Taro: maybe we talk to them only in our language, for learn faster, like school

Shizuka: -ooh true, maybe we should that hehe-

Ari: huh? no! I was just starting to feel confident, don’t do that

Sidra: hmm, we haven’t seen anything resembling a church, have we? I wonder what gods do the people in this world pray to

Taro: many uhh churches, for many gods, but here, not many

Shizuka: not many clues either, shall we go to the next town?

they flew leaving that town behind, it didn’t take long to see actual human activity, military cars, checkpoints, barricades, all protecting the perimeter of a small city

Ari: more warriors, but I don’t see the ones that fly

Sidra: they do have those creatures with such a long noses though

Taro: Maybe we ask them for help?

Shizuka: Wait, what if they’re looking for who defeated their friend in the mountains?

Nagye: th-they haven’t seen us, perhaps we can fly over

the bruo dashed at top speed, avoiding the potential anti-air fire and attention of the soldiers. They landed on top of a building, the view felt familiar to Shizuka

Nagye: I wonder if this is an important city, it lo-looks bigger than the other places

Ari: I would be surprised if this was the capital of the kingdom, the capital city of Asarana is bigger than this

Shizuka: I recognize those buildings… That's the commercial plaza!. This city is where I used to live!!

Sidra: most fortunate!, now we must find your family

Shizuka: yes!, hopefully they still live here

This city, unlike the other places they had been before, finally had people. Everyone looked busy and stressed, packing their things. The team tried asking for help and directions, but their clothes and weapons were strange and intimidating, people fled and avoid them

Shizuka: Perhaps we should disguise ourselves with clothes from this world? We have some pretty cute stuff to wear.

Ari: But how do we hide the weapons?

bald gangster: -you guys don't look like you’re from around here, this is our city, doncha know?, you gotta pay the tax if you wanna be around here-

a group of gangsters approached The Team, they also had no care in hiding their weapons; rifles, bats, katanas, holstered pistols, and lazily worn body armor

Ari: are they friendly or enemy?

Taro: they dont look good, prepare

katana gangster: –ha?! What did you say?! What stupid language is that? speak clearly! -

bald gangster: -give us all your stuff if you know what's good for you, oh, and we’re also taking the girls, we got some questions to ask them heh heh-

the gangster grabbed Sidra by the arm, he leered at her, and she sent him flying with a punch to the face

Sidra: goddess gracious that was a lot of blood, I forgot the people here don’t use mana

katana gangster: -what was that?!, rattle them boys!!-

The gangsters started blasting their firearms of respectable power. The Team could not dodge in time, so they were impacted by the hot lead, burning their skin on contact, but it couldn’t penetrate their mana enhanced bodies

Shizuka: eek!, ow ow!!, wait, I'm not dead?

Taro: mana protects us, dont worry!

Nagye: it still hurts so bad, its g-gonna leave a mark

Ari: don’t let the mouth of their weapons see you, that’s how they aim their attacks!. they hurt, but I've been hit worse!

the gangsters kept shooting in disbelief that their almighty weapons were not decimating them while The Team struck them down one by one

radio gangster: -we need support!, come quickly!, bring the big guns!!-

Not much time passed before 3 trucks pulled up to the scene, stacked with armed gangsters, one of the trucks even had an anti-tank rifle mounted on it, which fired at the Team with no hesitation. Shizuka and Nagye barely blocked the shots with mana shields cracking under the firepower, and Nagye sent bird constructs to smash some riflemen. Ari rushed in, ripped the anti-tank rifle out of its emplacement, and bent the barrel with her enhanced strength, to then use it for smacking the rifle operator

Ari: their big weapon is out! time to counterattack!

the gangsters started jumping away from the trucks terrified at what they were witnessing, then another truck rushed in with the intent of running The Team over, but Shizuka fired an explosive shot, lifting the truck into the air before falling to one of the other trucks

Shizuka: oops, did I overdo it again?

Ari: don't let anyone escape or they’ll report to their lord!

Taro, Sidra, and Nagye’s bird constructs knocked out and captured the remaining goons, gathered them, and stripped them of their equipment. just when The Team was wondering what to do with them, the people came out from hiding, celebrating and cheering

town lady: -how did you do that?! You're like super heroes! -

town man: -you saved us! The mad gang has been defeated!!-

Ari: are they friendly or enemy?

Sidra: I’d rather not hurt more people that don’t know how to use mana

Taro: they good, don’t worry

town lady: -thank you so much!, can you understand what I’m saying? -

Shizuka: -yes!, we are umm heroes from another world!, we are searching for someone, please help us-

The people were delighted with the super heroes. The Team were taken to the local shelter, where many other people were preparing their things, and were briefed on the situation. Shizuka gave the name of her parents, and nobody knew who they were, but some promised to help find them. By the end, they had most of their questions answered

Shizuka: So the Horde is here, and that's why we saw all those abandoned towns…

Taro: it been 3 years since transported, I dont know so much time passed (I wonder if my family will still recognize me)

Sidra: do not falter. despite the troubles that had found us, we are in Shizuka’s town, soon we will find her family

Nagye: The warriors of this world are not that strong, b-but their weapons are very loud and a-angry, they scare me. but I won’t let them get in our way

Shizuka: you guys are right, soon we’ll find them, and Taro’s family too

Ari: I just hope we don’t have to fight more flying soldiers; those are hard to hit

Sidra: if it is true that the bandits we captured are connected to the warriors, we unfortunately might have to

speakers all across the city started repeating the same message: “attention all citizens, the alien invaders have been detected, they will arrive to the city in less than 72 hours, please prepare for evacuation and do so as fast as possible”

Ari: as always, the Horde is arriving earlier than we thought

Nagye: now I feel bad for the warriors of this world, to th-think m-most of their weapons have not worked

Taro: the Horde armor, is special (that one lanky monster was taking my hits to the face and was just brushing them off, their armor must definitely have some special quality)

Shizuka: in that case, we should do what we can to help the people escape

Ari: protect the caravan while they advance for the capital? Where have I seen this before?

Nagye: if the Horde is too s-strong, we can just fly away

Taro: we’ll go, to protect people, and Shizuka’s family

The Team talked to the authorities organizing the shelters and escape routes and helped the people prepare their things and join the caravan. The road was congested with cars trying to get away from there as fast as possible and the black flying creatures zoomed across the sky the next morning, announcing that the Horde was ready for the assault
