Chapter 8:

Even gods have troubles

I Never Asked To Be Isekai'd!

The room was a porcelain white, so was the furniture within it. The only items that seemed to be other colors were the fruit bowl sitting on the table, and the window giving a view to the blue sky. Soon enough, one of the doors in the room starts to open. A golden ball of light enters the porcelain room, and suddenly starts to expand. Within ten seconds the ball is replaced by a beautiful woman with gold hair and light red eyes. The woman takes a short glance at the window leading outside, after that she looks away and sighed. She wants a breather more than anyone else, but she won’t allow herself any respite.

****

*Sigh*

I can’t believe it, another victim, how much more people will be taken before those monsters are satisfied. No, I shouldn’t call them monsters, I’m the one to blame for this. Afterall, I’m the goddess who created Fantasia in the first place and yet for the paradise I created to turn into the state it is today.

“How could I be so reckless…”

I got side tracked with watching over my other worlds, and now my first world is in peril. Not only that, but that poor man, because of my reluctance another victim has been added to the list. I call myself a goddess, but how can I be a goddess when I can’t even save one man. No, I have to stop being pessimistic, beating myself up won’t save anyone. I decided to grab an apple from my fruit bowl, maybe a quick bite will get my mind in order.

*Bite*

“*Blargh* Why is it so sour!?!”

I’m usually not one to waste food, but it was a knee jerk reaction. Why did an apple I freshly picked just yesterday taste so-Wait a minute! I decided to test my theory, I grabbed one of my bananas and took a bite. It was sweet! Too sweet, I decided to pop one of my grapes into my mouth. The flavor was intoxicating, a human could get drunk of these! If the flavor of this fruit is getting stronger-

*Scratch*

I looked towards the window where the sound was emanating from. I spotted wild vines growing rapidly off the tree I planted, along with the fruit this can only mean one thing.

“Uh oh, she came faster than I expected.”

Right after I said that, I could hear footsteps in the distance. They became louder the closer they got, leading to a loud *thud* at my front door. Great she must’ve tried that kick from that series she likes, what’s worse is that based on the sounds she’s not done. Does it still count as knocking when someone’s kicking the door? As if right on cue, my door went flying off the hinges and the culprit walked straight in. She wore a indigo dress, with an emerald colored veil attached. Her hair was the same sapphire blue it always was and her eyes were a menacing dark green. It’s amazing to think such a beautiful woman could stare daggers at me. After a while she moved her gaze and began walking towards-Wait, where is she going? Wait a moment that’s my-

*Crack*

She broke the lock on my wine cabinet and immediately grabbed my finest vintage, hey I was saving that for the next time I had a me day! She then walked up to my couch and plopped herself down on it. You know what fine! Make yourself at home, I guess that’s the least I could do. I summoned a chair and sat across from her at the table where my fruit bowl was. She summoned out a chalice and poured some of the wine in it, oh so she just wanted-

*GULP GULP GULP GULP*

Nah, she’s drinking from the bottle. Who’s the cup for then? She burps after finishing the leftover contents, and pushes the chalice to me. Oh, so I only deserve a little taste. At this point I couldn’t help but address her.

“Listen Mythra, I get that you’re upset but-”

“Bite me doll face! Now drink from the hollowed chalice!”

“Alright then, help yourself to my house why don’t you!”

“Gladly!”

She immediately leaned back on my couch and crossed her legs, so I decided to sip some of my ale. The flavor is divine, I really wished I saved this for my personal time. I glanced at Mythra and she was helping herself to my fruit bowl.

“You know those were my babies right?”

“Yeah, and I altered the flavor to my liking. Considering that I ran from my pseudo-realm to yours, a snack is the least you could do. It’s a win-win situation.”

“I’ll take that considering you’ve suffered the most from my dilemma.”

“Exactly, now then tell me about the poor human that just got abducted!”

Mythra slammed down my now empty fruit bowl, it makes sense she’s angry. She’s the Goddess of Nature, and Earth is under her jurisdiction. The constant world summons as of late have been a constant headache for her. She’s mainly taking this easy on me because we’re friends, but still-

“I’m sorry Mythra, because of me everything has been so awful.”

“*Sigh* You have no idea, sure the amount isn’t noticeable yet but the humans on Earth might start catching on soon. Especially with all those isekai novels that are all the rage now!”

“Not to say I told you so, but you really should’ve stopped her from-”

“Huh?”

“NOPE! I said nothing, absolutely nothing!”

“That’s what I thought.”

She gets pissed anytime someone mentions “her”, besides that there’s another reason Mythra is upset.

“Does he know about-”

“OF COURSE NOT FIFI! WHAT AM SUPPOSED TO TELL HIM, THAT THE LAND HE TRUSTED ME WITH HAS GONE TO CRAP!”

Mythra looked at me again, but she wasn’t glaring this time. My friends eyes were on the brink of tears, I got up from my chair and hugged her.

“I’m sorry Myth, my actions have hurt you so much.”

“*sniff* It’s fine Fifi, I know you’re trying but still. Everytime a human dies over there, I can feel it.”

We gods have a connection to our people, when one of them dies we can see it in our spirit chronicle. However, in severe cases like these, a god can feel it when something bad happens to one of their people. When a summoned person dies, Mythra can sense it and it’s starting to take a toll on her. Mythra begins breaking down in my arms, after a while I start crying too. I really am the worst friend ever aren’t I.

****

“Sorry Fifi *sniff*, I knew you really wanted to drink that ale.”

“It’s okay Myth, spirits are meant to be shared with friends.”

Mythra summoned a towel to wipe her face, and then we both took a collective sigh. What the heck are we going to do about this? Mythra however had an answer to that.

“Sorry Fifi, I jumped the gun and asked for some aid.”

“That’s probably for the best, is it you know who. She’ll probably bonk me with her staff again and tell me I need more training.”

“No, it’s “him” Fianna, “he’s” coming here. I can actually feel “him” now.”

“...Girl, I know you didn’t do what I think you did.”

I immediately heard a rumbling from outside my house, I glanced towards the window and saw a massive title wave coming this way. I begun to stare at Mythra, my eyes looking like an annoyed cats.

“Mythra, you didn’t…”

“...Please forgive me!”

“YOU TRAITOR!!!!”

Mythra hid her face in her hands, I began softfully pummeling her with my hands. Why did she have to summon this annoying guy here! Suddenly the wave hit my house, the force sent me and Mythra flying. When I opened my eyes again, my living room was destroyed and my clothes were soaked. Mythra lifted herself up and then gagged a river out her mouth, with fish included. The perpetrator of operation water park waltzed in, as expected he wore the same jersey he always does and along with his favorite swimming pants. His lightly tanned skin and white hair stood out as usual, but not more than his sky blue eyes. Then with that usual charming smile, he spoke with a charismatic tone.

“Ladies! I heard you’re in need of some assistance!”

I stared at Mythra, her response was looking down in shame. Why do I need to deal with this, but first things first.

“Neptune...YOU DESTROYED MY HOUSE AGAIN!”
