Chapter 13:

Againts The Pyron

The Creature Hunter: Soul Of The Wind

After hitting the wall, Orano slowed his fall down and stood up again.

He was taking heavy breaths and was looking around.

Then he said to himself,

*I'll have to move it to make the potion work. But because I lost my sword, it became more difficult for me to do so. I have to find another way.*

Right when he was thinking, Caitrin shouted from above,

"I heard a very loud sound! Are you okay!?"

"I am alright! Did you find any exit?" Orano shouted back.

"Yes, I did! It's the third hole we have to go in! It's like it's opened a hole there before!"

"All right! We can use it on the way out! You stay there and don't go anywhere!"

"What are you gonna do? What happened to the snake?"

"I'm taking ca-"

While he was talking, he realized something. The snake was gone, and it had just disappeared like before. He knew something was odd, so he immediately shouted at Caitrin, with slight panic at his voice tone,

"It got away again! Be on guard and don't move!"

Caitrin became nervous like him and said,

"What do you mean by it got away again? Didn't you take care of it!?"

While they were shouting, they felt the vibration once more.

It was crawling through the walls, slowly and steady. And Its huge size made the walls shake while it was moving. It moved towards the upper sides of the cave and continued to move there.

Caitrin looked at the walls scared and said to herself,

*Is it coming here?*

But after a couple of seconds, the vibration and the moving sound disappeared. There was silence, again.

*Did the potion made its job?* Orano said to himself.

But right when he was thinking like that, the snake got out of the wall once more and hissed very strongly.

Caitrin jumped back with fear.

*It really is here!*

"Caitrin! Are you alright?" Orano shouted at her,

"I am not! What am I suppose to do without a sword?"

"There is a sword!"

"Where?"

"It's going to be a little hard to get it, but it's in the creature's mouth!"

"In the creature's mouth!?"

When the creature opened its mouth, she was able to see the sword that was stuck on the snake's tongue.

She then said to herself,

"How did that get there?"

Orano shouted again,

"You have no choice! You must get it and protect yourself!"

"But what are you going to do?"

"I will come there as fast I can. Just hold on till I get there and make sure your Zon device is opened."

Caitrin looked at the snake's hungry eyes and shouted once more,

"Be quick!"

Orano nodded and quickly made his way to one of the holes.

Caitrin was now all alone with the giant snake and there was a tense atmosphere in the air. The time felt like it was frozen. So she then stood up, opened her Zon device, and started thinking about the situation.

*I have to find a way to distract it. Until he gets here.*

Then she said while looking around,

*But what should I do?*

While she was nervously thinking about what to do, she finally saw something behind the snake. It was a very big rock on the ceiling that looked like it was about to fall.

This made her think again,

*What If I use that? Maybe I can make it fall?*

But the snake hissed and made her come out of her thoughts.

She again said to herself,

*I must try it.*

So she started shouting,

"Hey! I am here, follow me!"

And after getting the attention of the snake, she immediately started running and made her way to the wall close to the rock.

*Now all I have to do is to lead it there until it hits the wall.*

But unlike she thought, the snake made its move just like her and tried to attack her. So Caitrin jumped and got away from the attack, making the snake hit the ground. And she stood up and started to run again.

*That was too close!* She said scared.

And after running for a couple of seconds, she finally reached the wall with the big rock and shouted at the snake again,

"Right here!"

The snake got very angry and attacked her again. But this time it hit the wall and made the big rock above it fall to its head.

*I did it!* She said with excitement.

The rock finally fell on its head and made the snake hiss in pain. And that made the sword fell from its mouth.

*Tatsumi's sword!* She said.

And she immediately ran towards it and grabbed it.

*It is good that I have the sword now. But I have to hold on for a while since Tatsumi comes here too.*

And as she said that, the voice of Orano started came from the Zon Device,

"Caitrin, Are you there?"

"Yes, I am here. But where are you?"

"I'm in one of the tunnels that the snake has dug before. Can you hold on a little longer?"

"I can do that, but you didn't tell me anything on how to take care of it while you come here."

"Okay now, listen closely."

He then started explaining,

"The one you see in front of you is a "Pyron". It's the first of the giant world's snakes. While it being quite dangerous, there are two other species called "Citrus" and "Atranoch". Although it is not as strong as Citrus, or as fast as Atranoch, it is quite powerful.

Its skin is quite thick from the inside and out. And it is the type of snake that can best observe its surroundings. But still, its weakest point is its eyes and its head. So If you can attack the snake before it figures out your movements, it might be easier for us to deal with it."

"Okay, I understand. Is there anything I can do?"

"Just don't let it get behind you. They often try to finish their prey by attacking them from behind."

She sighed and said,

"It is easy for you to say."

She then held the sword and said to herself,

*But he is right. I must do something.*

The snake was in front of her, looking at her in a strange way. It was angry because of Orano and Caitrin for hurting him, so it hissed angrily and slowly approached her.

But at that moment Caitrin started running at it once more. The snake hissed and tried to attack her but she jumped and tried to stab the snake. Unfortunately, the snake moved its body and she ended up hitting the snake in the forehead.

The sword was now stuck deeply into its head and made the creature make a sound while it shook its head around. Now Caitrin was trying to hold on to the sword and was trying not to fall.

But the snake hissed loudly and threw her, making her hit the wall at a high speed.

Caitrin then said to herself as she tried to get up after the hit she took,

*Didn't hit it, huh?*

She gripped the sword strongly and added,

*Let's try again.*

She then started running again. But this time she dodged its attack, jumped into its head, and stuck the sword right into its eye. And as she tried to push the sword deeper, The creature was hissing in pain. It was like it was crying.

And at that moment, the creature once again threw her. But this time when she fell to the ground, the sword fell far away from her.

She tried to get up and tried to approach the sword, but it was too late. The creature was furious and looked at her in a deadly way. It was slowly approaching and hissing.

Caitrin held her device and said loudly,

"Hey! Tatsumi! Where are you?"

And right at that moment, Orano came running and kicked the snake hard right in the head.

He said while breathing rapidly,

"It looks like I made it just in time."

He then turned to Caitrin and said,

"Are you alright?"

She said, confused and exhausted,

"Yeah, I'm alright. But I almost died of fear."

Orano had just arrived in time and nobody was hurt.

"The snake will not hold on any longer."

He then picked up his sword from the ground and said,

"That means we have no time to lose."
