Chapter 21:

The Battle of Opalis: Part II

Re:Admin

Eyrie's face was etched with sorrow as she held her mom's body. The final words her mom spoke, confessing a lifetime of sacrifices, hit Admin hard. This wasn't just about getting even with someone; it was about making sure no god could ever mess with people's lives again.

Admin squeezed the motorcycle's handles, the engine roared as he sped toward Aeriys. Lady Reyus held on tight, eyes glowing with dark energy, ready to use all her power.

As they got closer, Aeriys shot out one last burst of divine power. Lady Reyus made a see-through shield to block the blasts. The motorcycle swerved through the broken city, a risky move against such strong power.

Reyus, now! Give it everything you've got! Admin yelled over the noise.

Lady Reyus let loose her power, a wave of dark energy hitting Aeriys. The goddess stumbled, her bright form flickering. Admin knew they had to act fast.

Admin jumped off the motorcycle, aiming his gun at Aeriys's glowing wings. He breathed deeply, putting all his focus into one shot.

Crack! Crack! Two bullets, filled with Lady Reyus's energy, flew through the air, hitting Aeriys's wings. She screamed in pain as the wings broke apart, feathers falling like snow.

Aeriys, unable to fly, fell to the ground. A bright yellow doorway suddenly appeared below her, swirling with strange energy. It sucked her in, her scream echoing as she disappeared.

The doorway vanished, leaving only a faint smell and the echoes of Aeriys's anger. The danger was gone. The other angels, no longer connected to the goddess, faded away, their light disappearing.

Lady Reyus collapsed, tired but happy. They had won. They had defeated a goddess, even if it wasn't how they planned. They had lived through it.

The city of Opalis was wrecked. The people were few, and the land was damaged. But the people who made it, inspired by their victory, wouldn't give up.

They worked hard, clearing rubble, helping those who were hurt, and burying the dead. They shared what little they had, helping each other through the sadness and hardship.

Slowly, Opalis started to get better. New homes were built, old landmarks were fixed, and life came back to the streets. The scars of the battle would always be there, reminding them of their courage.

Eyrie, surrounded by her new family – Admin, Lady Reyus, Mirai, and Tundra – found comfort in their love and support. She would never forget her parents or what they did for her. But she would also start a new life, getting strength and purpose from helping to rebuild her broken world.

As Admin and Lady Reyus looked at the city coming back to life, they felt something was wrong. The victory felt empty. A low growl broke the silence, seeming to come from the ground itself.

This isn't over… a voice said, filled with dark power. She was only the beginning. The yellow doorway, they realized, wasn't a prison, but a way in. And something much worse was about to come out. The world had been saved, but now it faced a bigger threat.

The rebuilding of Opalis had started, showing how strong the people were. Admin and Lady Reyus found themselves drawn together, their shared experiences making a bond that went beyond the chaos and destruction.

Lady Reyus looked at Admin, her eyes softened, showing the strong feelings inside her. The mask of dark power was gone, revealing a soul wanting something more.

She reached out and gently touched Admin's cheek. Then, giving in to the feelings between them, she leaned in and kissed him.

It had been building for a long time, she appreciated him.

At first, the kiss was unsure. But as Admin kissed her back, it became a passionate expression of thanks, relief, and a longing that had been kept hidden. The stress of the battle, the uncertainty of the future, disappeared in their embrace.

When they stopped, Lady Reyus looked at Admin with a new sense of vulnerability.

Admin, she said softly, I've been thinking… I don't feel like Lady Reyus anymore, and Mishanter doesn't feel like me either. Those names belong to a past I'm leaving behind. I want a new name, one that shows who I am now, the person I'm trying to become.

Admin looked closely at her, seeing her strong desire to change. He knew how much a name could shape someone's identity. He knew he had to suggest something better.

He thought for a moment, trying to find a name that would include her past, present, and future. Then, he had an idea.

What about… Reyus Lazurai? he said, confidently. It stands for your strength, your spirit, and the hope you can always represent, even in the darkest times. It symbolizes hope and your inner light that you've always possessed. It’s both your power and beauty that you can always represent.

She smiled brightly as she tasted the name. Reyus Lazurai… I love it, she whispered. It feels like… me. Thank you, Admin.

Their moment was interrupted by a sudden chill that ran through the city. The wind howled, carrying a smell and a sense of dread. The shadows grew longer, and the air felt heavy.

Admin and Reyus Lazurai stepped away from each other, their senses alert, their hearts pounding with a shared feeling of dread. They knew that the peace they had fought for was about to be shattered.

They didn't know that their kiss, their moment of vulnerability, had been seen. Mirai watched from the shadows with anger, her fists clenched, her red and black sword buzzing with energy. Tundra, always watching, noticed Mirai's distress, her TV-head showing data and analysis. Even Eyrie, despite her sadness, felt a pang of jealousy as she saw Admin and Reyus Lazurai's romance. The group's unity was being tested, and darkness was closing in. The new enemy would do anything to take over.
