Chapter 50:

Famine (2)

Rockstar Isekai: fighting against Silence

Natsuo fell on the ground and the sound waves hit the Vassal, releasing the sound of the guitar’s strings and stunning him.

They were enough to make the stun last a while.

Beatrice immediately got up. She couldn’t waste Natsuo’s sacrifice to give them that chance.

She shot arrows enlightened by sunlight in a flurry and they got stuck into the horse’s throat. They started burning the creature’s skin, as they were incandescent.

Tristan had her same thought and got up. He ran toward the Vassal and touched the horse with his rod, freezing the animal.

Gregory rushed up and hit the ice statue with his club, shattering it into pieces.

Natsuo grinned satisfied. They made it, the horse was gone.

Suddenly, a violent wind began to blow. A storm of dust forced the five guys to cover their eyes.

When they could open them again, Famine was standing on the ground with his scale hanging on his right hand.

“At least this one doesn’t put up a show like War” commented Natsuo.

In the meanwhile, his leg and arms had regenerated.

This time Beatrice took the initiative. She stretched her bow’s string and charged an incandescent arrow. She took aim and shot it.

The arrow hit Famine in his neck and started burning his skin.

Famine pulled out the arrow and his scales shifted.

Suddenly, Beatrice started screaming in pain. She brought her hands on her neck, where there was a deep wound and her skin was burning. She fell on the ground, writhing in pain.

Tristan’s eyes widened. “Beatrice!”

Natsuo’s healing song had an immediate effect: her wound started regenerating and the burning effect was vanishing.

“What’s happening? Why was she hurt?” asked Olive, shocked.

Natsuo turned to the Vassal, irked.

“His power might have changed.”

Gregory rushed toward Famine and tried to hit him with his club. The impact pushed them both back.

“Maybe he reflects the damage he takes to the person who inflicted it” suggested Tristan. “We can’t do anything against him, in these conditions” he said, resigned.

“Tch, it’s too convenient as a power!” commented Gregory.

Famine moved the scale with balanced plates in front of him and, suddenly, an extremely strong force pushed all the five of them on the ground.

They tried to get up, but it was like they were holding boulders on their back.

“Damn, this is gravity force. That wasn’t needed” said Natsuo.

The Vassal walked slowly, watching them fight against the gravity that pushed them on the ground.

He reached Natsuo and stared at him, giving off a negative aura. He hated him the most, as he was the only one with a system that he couldn’t fight.

Famine trampled on his head with malice.

Beatrice’s eyes widened.

“How dare you treat him like this?” she said, troubled by the gravity. “Don’t touch my Natsuo ever again!”

She used her system and emanated a bright light that burnt Famine’s skin.

The scales shifted and Beatrice’s skin started burning, too. She screamed in pain.

“Beatrice, stop it! You’re just hurting yourself!” exclaimed Olive.

Beatrice did as she was told and the music healed her quickly.

They stared at Famine, helpless. They couldn’t do anything against him, his power was unfairly strong.

The Vassal towered over them and seemed to glance at them with superiority. Even if the music was bothering him and he got stunned every time a song changed, it wasn’t enough to stop him.

The gravity force got stronger as time went by. If they didn’t do something, they would have died in a short time.

Natsuo tried to reflect. There was something he could do for sure. He had always managed to get himself out of every situation, he would have made it this time too.

If only he could be more resistant, he would be able to fight against gravity.

Processing new attribute…

He smirked. The Rockstar System was truly a blessing.

New attribute created: RESISTANCE.

He created a new playlist with the new attribute and pondered on what other attribute he could put.

The thought of Gregory hitting Famine came to his mind: he had received the blow too, but physical damage was more bearable than wounds.

He smirked. Maybe, he found a solution. He put STRENGTH as the second attribute and changed the playlist.

“Guys, be careful, I don’t have a healing playlist on right now” he said.

Everyone turned to him. Suddenly, moving was much easier.

Natsuo tried to get up and, thanks to the new attribute, he was able to stand again.

Famine seemed to be surprised.

Natsuo charged a punch and hit the Vassal on his chest. Thanks to the strength attribute, Famine was pushed back.

The scales shifted and Natsuo felt the impact of his punch on his own chest, but he didn’t move an inch.

He smirked. “My punches are strong, but if I’m resistant enough, it’s useless to reflect them on me.”

The Vassal seemed to be really annoyed.

Natsuo rushed up to him and punched him in the face.

Famine tried to reflect the hit, but Natsuo remained unbothered. The Vassal backed up, sensing the imminent danger.

“What is it? Are you scared?” Natsuo provoked him.

He let go of his scythe and leapt forward. He punched Famine again in the face and continued to hit him in rapid succession.

The Vassal suffered the blows without doing anything.

Natsuo did a spinning hook kick and his incredible force threw the Vassal on the ground.

Despite wearing armour, Famine was very weakened by the hits. The strength the Rockstar System gave to Natsuo was inhuman.

“Good job! These are the fights that I like!” Gregory cheered.

Natsuo glanced at the Vassal collapsed on the ground.

“However, we need to find a way to defeat him. I doubt only punches will be enough to kill him.”

To confirm his words, Natsuo was crushed to the ground by a heavy force.

Famine got up, rising over him. He kicked the boy on his stomach out of spite.

Natsuo tried to fight against the gravity force, but it was drastically stronger than before.

The situation wasn’t good.
