Aurelans

I was freaking out, didn't know what to say. Taera was standing there, his brown hair shining in the sun and his blue eyes faced towards me.

"Hey, Domino."  Taera waved at me, he wanted me to come closer. "Can we talk?"

"Um, sure." I walked closer to him. "This is about yesterday, right?"

"Yes, I'm sorry for answering now." I was really scared, what would he say?

"It's okay, you needed time to think right?" My voice was shaking.

"I am really sorry, I just don't think I'm ready for those kind of relationships yet, don't mistake me, you are an amazing friend and I'd love to get closer to you, I'm just not in love." I felt the cry coming up my throat. "I need to get my life sorted out first"

"No, i-it's okay" I was stuttering and already felt the tears in my eyes. "I just remembered that I have to w-walk my dog"

I started running, I didn't want him to see me cry, I was embarrassed enough.

"Domino!" Taera grabbed my hand. I tried to get him off me when that silver light came, the same shimmering light I saw when I read that book.
But this time it didn't take only me, it took Taera too!

"No!" I screamed. 
Huh, where am I, this isn't home. Wait I can smell the sea! No, that's right Taera and I were taken by that light again!

"Are you okay?!" It was that guy again, the one they called sir.

"You sure are loud today." I said. "But I'm okay, it was only a nightmare." I knew it wasn't but my eyes could have tricked me although I'm sure it swallowed him too.

"I'm glad, I should call Sylphia over, she might need to check up on you." The guy said, I hadn't thought about it much but I realize I didn't know his name.

"Thank you... erm, what is your name?" That was smooth enough right?

"Oh, I'm sorry, the name's Leon, I'm the captain on this ship." He answered. "May I ask who you are m'lady?"

"Right, I'm Domino." I answered, At least now I know why they call him sir. "But what's with those ears" Oh shit, I said that out loud.

"That is an odd question, have you never seen an aurelan before?" An aurelan huh, I shaked my head. "Well, I can tell you about this as soon as Sylphia has looked at you."

Sylphia came over and it seemed like she was all rested up now, although I don't know I long I was out.
She walked closer to me, she didn't seem like the talkative person, she just helped me up on my feet since I was still in that bed.
I didn't realize at first but I was taller than before, it felt really weird.

"The curse is gone" Sylphia said.

"Gone, is that why I'm taller now?" I answered, I was probably not a lot taller but I could still feel it.

"Yes" Just one single word from her, and that was all.

Not that I understood much about what was going on but to sum it up; I'm in another world, where there are people with animal ears and those who can use magic, flying fires and I was cursed but now I'm not?
This is way too much for me!

"I' guess I can tell you about us aurelans now..." 

It was a pretty long story but basically aurelans are people who are born as part animal, sometimes a mage and a human can get aurelans and they can be born as part any animal and most of the time be magic users too. If two different aurelans gets children it is almost certain that they will be aurelans too, and they are almost always the same animal as either of his or hers parents. 
It is very unusual that an aurelan is born from only humans but it can happen, although the child will be very weak.
