Chapter 23:

Love Against Destiny

From High School Senior - To Fantasy Card Game Slayer

"Who are you? How did you know that I live here?"

Kana said with a sense of unease and a heightened awareness, her memories of Kimi and all that they'd gone through were still gone.

"Kana, you're Kana Watanabe - and my name is Kimi, Kimi Tanaka - we've met before, but you don't remember. I'll prove it: what do you remember about being the Sorceress Queen?"

Kimi asked as she looked at Kana, noticing that there wasn't anyone else in the condo with her. Maybe her parents worked elsewhere and she lived alone most of the time? Maybe her parents wrecked divorced? Kimi didn't know, but she soon refocused on Kana, taking a breath and then waiting for Kana to answer.

"Wait - how did you.......I actually don't remember anything. The last thing that I remember is the Cosplay and Card Competition that was put on my Imagination and Illusions Inc. - but after that, it's just that I've been here for the past handful of days - but I can't recall any particular details. But seriously, why are you asking me this!?"

Kana said as she then took a breath, looking nervous and staring at Kimi as she waited to hear what she had to say? Kana felt that there was something more here - sensing that Kimi wasn't there to rob her or otherwise implicate her in some kind of a crime or conflict.

"I - here, you just have to trust me, look at this."

Kimi said as she simultaneously pushed Kana inside the condo and into the shoe area, then going into her school bag and grabbing the special Sorcerers and Slayers card that was partially formed from her tears - and holding it up in front of Kana.

"What!? That's a Sorcerers and Slayers card - !"

Kana let out as she looked at the card that Kimi held up before her, whilst a whirlwind of pink and white energy engulfed Kana, before her eyes shined with a white light - the same light that was in her eyes when she was the Sorceress Queen. It was clear that the effect of the card had worked, as expected.

"I - KIMI! WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED!? MY MEMORIES - THEY'RE FLOODING BACK, I REMEMBER EVERYTHING! WAIT - YOU WON THE WAR OF THE REALM, HOW - !?"

Kana said as this time, Kimi gently placed to fingers over Kana's mouth as she then stroked Kana's hair, nodding to her gently as she ensured that Kana was as clam as she could be. As a natural response, Kana was shaking and cried as Kimi held her, rocking her gently as Kana clung to her.

"Shhhhhh - it's going to be ok, I promise it will - but I need your help."

Kimi said as Kana looked at her, nodding as she waited - wanting to make sure that she gave Kana enough space as to not overwhelm her anymore than Kana already was.

"I need your help as both Kana, the girl that I love, and as the Sorceress Queen of the fiefdom of Endless Sunlight and Golden Fields. I'm asking you this because I'm going to unite everyone else who's going to be transported to the Primordial Elemental Elder Realm on December 25, in exactly two weeks, in a war against Haruto, Akio, Aoto, and Sota. I - I can't allow for this cycle to continue on any longer - as none of us asked for this."

Kimi said as she looked into Kana's eyes, pleading to her with both her words and her body language. As the snow fell outside, she couldn't help but feel a warmth being with Kana once more, especially now that her memories were restored. Even so, Kimi was nervous as she waited to hear what Kana was going to say, as Kimi knew that she'd use asked so much of Kana not even five minutes after restoring her memories with the same magic that they now sought to defeat once and for all.

"I'll do it. I'm with you until the end."

Kana said as she pulled Kimi in for a deep kiss. This kiss was like their first - as passion and their mutual belief in each other coursed through them, with Kimi pulling back first this time, nodding to Kana as she stroked Kana's hair, while feeling a newfound and all the same, familiar, sense of confidence due to being with Kana once more, with her memories restored.

"Then we don't have any time to waste. I have to go back to the other world for now - but promise me that you'll be ready, alright? I'll make sure that I find a way to summon you when the time comes."

Kimi said as she blushed and smiled warmly to Kana, as the latter nodded, looking equally deeply into Kimi's eyes.

"You can count on me to fight and command alongside you in battle in that other world, just like you can count on me to love you with passion."

Kana replied as she swept Kana off her feet into that all too familiar bridal carry position, holding Kimi as they shared one more kiss, with Kana's soft, feminine fingers running through Kimi's hair. It was in this moment that they both knew that they could in fact, win in the true, fair and just sense of the term.

As Kana put Kimi down carefully, they looked at each other as Kimi nodded to Kana, before bowing to her, and then hugging her.

"I need to go back to the other world, back to the Primordial Elemental Elder Realm. I'll miss you - but I promise, we'll make it through this, we will end this cycle for ourselves - and for everyone else for all of time."

Kimi said as Kana smiled at her, stroking Kimi's hair. There was no need for them to say anything else to each other, and they both knew this.

As Kimi stepped back, she clutched her school bag and closed her eyes - imagining the Primordial Elemental Elder Realm, and the throne room in her fortress and armory that she ruled over her original fiefdom, and the others in as the Slayer Queen and the Emissary of that other world. Before long, Kimi was back there, standing in her elaborate and tight fitting, lightweight but powerful, pink and white armor, now also with her enchanted sword in addition to her school bag. There was no time to waste - she had to prepare for the coming and final - War of the Realm.
