Chapter 24:

The Powers of Tradition and the Will of Destiny

From High School Senior - To Fantasy Card Game Slayer

"She'll never defeat us - for it does not matter if she unites all of the other rulers in stewardship, and then proceeds to command their combined forces under one, solidified army. Even if Akira never rose up - we're the only ones who re immortal - not her, not any of those that she may call allies."

Haruto said as he floated in his wingless dragon form - high above the ground of the four parts of the Primordial Elemental Elder Realm - looking to Akio, Aoto, and Sota, who were each in their respective wingless dragon forms as well. Each of them carried the curse of arrogance that immortality had brought with it, their age beyond the comprehension of humanity just as much as their individual powers were.

"She knows not of our other forms - she knows not that our human forms are far from our only forms besides these forms - our natural dragon forms. Her heart may burn with the passion of war and of love for the Sorceress Queen who ruled in stewardship under you, Haruto. And yet, she shall be frozen in despair with the piercing pain of defeat soon enough."

Akio said as he stared into Haruto's eyes. The clouds shifted around them as each wingless dragon looked at the other with soft but meaningful movements, the consensus strong so far - as it was guaranteed to be, due to each carrying equal parts immorality and arrogance within them, and yet destiny and tradition dictated their collectivist consensus and approval for action, like that of a council of old.

"Like a typhoon - she'll be washed away when she dares declare battle within my fiefdom. The Slayer King whom most recently ruled in stewardship under me may've been a fool who was defeated because of his pride - and yet he was not us, a false ruler who falsely believed that he could indeed win. And yet, it is not an ambition to rule with an unequal level of ability to do so that will bring down this Slayer Queen who seeks to be a usurper - but her callous disregard for tradition and the ways of old of which she underhands not."

Aoto said as he looked at his brethren and peers in immortality as at last, Sota presented his view on the mater in order to seal the consensus for their own preparations for the War of the Realm.

"To defeat us would not only force her to confront the truth that she would have to master the powers and elements of all of the four fiefdoms of the realm - of those - darkness in the mires and rotten bamboo forests shrouded in agony and grimness. It is simply not in the character of the Slayer Queen who is for now, our Emissary - and yet not for long now."

Sota said as then they all changed into their human forms, with their color coated suits with their ties with single jewels that each corresponded to their respective powers in their wingless dragon forms. They were back in the boardroom of Imagination and Illusions Inc. Headquarters Building in Tokyo, as they each looked at each other, before standing up and looking out the windows of Tokyo.

Meanwhile, Kimi was in her Fortress and Armory - considering how she was going to go about this final War of the Realm? She felt uneasy in the sense that Haruto, Akio, Aoto, nor Sota presented themselves to her or summoned her, as she ha been elevated in her position in this world. The thing was, Kimi didn't consider that they already knew about her plans to attack them, to unleash the disruptive uprising that would have the affect of destroying tradition like that of the Haijo and Haito Edicts, and the Assassination of Julius Caesar.

Kimi then sat on her ruby inlaid ivory throne as she looked at her sword, her palms sweating slightly as she took in the weight of what she was truly going to do. As such, it was only a week before the beginnings of the next War of the Realm were to begin.

"Let the wrath of war be unleashed - it shall be done."

Haruto said as he nodded to his peers, as each of them looked to each other, before Haruto pulled a cellphone out of his pocket and dialed a number on its touchscreen, waiting a moment before answering.

"Make an announcement to the news media, and to all of the retailers across Japan that can be reached: the new set of cards can be sold early - and the price will be free. Ensure that this is carried out."

Haruto said authoritatively as he then hung up the phone, turning to Akio, Aoto, and Sota once more - having called their Executive Assistant, Yui, who was always working late and who knew not of their respective shared secrets.

"Humanity shall know that when one rises up against the collective order - all shall fall for their sin. If the Slayer Queen wants a war - then she shall have one which she shall not see coming, and one for which humanity will not forget. This time - those who fall in the Primordial Elemental Elder Realm, their souls will forever be bound to the that land - and those who are left here, in this world, in Japan - will feel what their ancestors did, to remember why they once worshipped the worlds beyond with true reverence."

Haruto stated to Akio, Aoto, and Sota, who all bowed to him as he bowed back, while they looked outside, the result of his command already unfolding with dramatic consequences that they gazed upon with powerful reverence. People ran all over the streets in a frantic desperation, some with new booster packs of Sorcerers and Slayers cards in their hands, some fighting to take booster packs and booster boxes from others, while others broke into various businesses around Tokyo as sirens of the Prefectural Police wailed.

"The pandemonium of the times of Akira and before him - these humans shall truly pay for the hubris and focal, single sin of the Slayer Queen. This darkness shall indeed, serve as the perfect reminder for what she has brought upon herself and upon her fellow humans."

Sota replied as the chaos and avaricious frenzy related to the Sorcerers and Slayers cards that the would be looters and fanatics didn't know were enchanted, continued their mob mentality frenzy as the Prefectural Police, and even the advance parties of the Self Defense Forces that had made their way into Tokyo - and in other cities across Japan - failed to be able to hold them back and regain order.

"Now - it's time."

Haruto said calmly as he held up his right hand and snapped his fingers - and as soon as the snap ended, all of those who wrestled touching the new Sorcerers and Slayers cards, turned into flashes of light, all the while those who weren't in possession of rose cards screamed, cried, ran, and froze in place - for that was happening was beyond their comprehension. Though the culprit was so obvious, avarice had given way to fear, and this fear acted as the assassin's cloak and curtain of darkness that whisked these people away into the Primordial Elemental Elder Realm.

Vastly and overwhelmingly made of youth aged eighteen to twenty-nine year old poured into the Primordial Elemental Elder Realm. In total, they were about half of Japan's population of this age range - and all the while, Kimi ran out of her fortress and armory as she heard screams cries, and yelling - like an unexpected cacophony of fear and unease.

Kimi didn't know what to do, or what to say - this was completely unexpected, and completely different. All of these young adults her age were dressed in the same simplified pink and white armor that her Common Folk of the Slayer variety during the last War of the Realm, while also carrying the same simplified swords as them - and yet that was another combined detail that confused and unsettled Kimi. Why was this happening!?

With a rush of adrenaline and desperation - Kimi felt her eyes and the rest of her body hear up, unable to see that her eyes were glowing pink and white as her voice boomed when she spoke.

"LISTEN TO ME! LISTEN TO ME AND I'LL MAKE SURE THAT YOU LEAVE THIS PLACE!"

Kimi let out before taking a few breaths, unsure of what came over her, besides knowing that it was part of the power that she'd been granted when Akira had transferred his position of otherworldly and supernatural authority to her. The previously frightened and frenzied, but armored masses froze in place and stared at her, listening intently and respectfully - awed by her authority.
