Chapter 1:

Behind The Building Where They Met

The Wind Showed You to Me

A young man sneaked out and hid behind the building. He let out a breath of relief, when his back was finally leaning against the cold wall. The impression of the concert hall vibrating was still pretty sensible. The crowd, excitement, noise, and fans were everything he wanted to run away from. The well hidden cigarettes and a lighter found a place in his palm.

He needed this short break to survive another concert, so why suddenly someone was standing next to him? His first reaction was willingness to see who that is, but instead he pulled down the hat even more. It was a girl for sure, that what the young man could say from a quick glance in the stranger direction. He was getting nervous the longer the silence between them was going. His mind went fully on analyzing mode, it could be a few possibilities.

One, she is a fan trying to reach him by pretending not to be one and that's making him a bit scared. Two, the woman is on a mission to set him up into dating rumors, but the paparazzis waiting for the perfect shot were not seen. But there were tough enemies skilled in hiding, waiting and getting ready in the blink of an eye. The third option was her being sent from his company to supervise him even more, this one he hated as more as being controlled. The last one he actually hoped for was her not having an idea who he actually was.

“Isn't smoking bad for your health and career?” Her voice lacked emotions, more like stating the obvious.

He barely stopped before swearing out loud as the realization that she must know hit him. Then a bit of frustration came. Shouldn't questions like that be asked in a more caring voice? His eyes after all make a quick glance at the company, the young woman was also hiding herself. A black cap on her head, a high collar, which didn't let him look at her face, what made him even more intrigued, but she wasn't actually interested in him. Her mind was somewhere else, posture like she was ready to act in a second, aura signaling fussiness and sadness.

“Why do you even care?” he asked with a bit more of an angry tone than he wanted initially.

“I couldn't care less,” she answered coldly, not moved by his attitude. “But someone close to me does then you deserve”

“Still I don't understand what your problem is?” The man pulled at a cigarette and was surprised by her reflex, when it landed on the ground. “Hey…” he protested, but was observing when his unexpected companion kneeled down to get a butt.

“Today is her only chance to see you and the rest of your stupid group. I was slaving for months to make it possible.”

She was shivering, because the worry she was trying to hide until now, started to overwhelm her. The idol’s face was known to her more than she wanted and when she accidentally saw him sneaking out for the cigarette made her angry. Kiki was waiting there to see him, all happy, excited, moved and he was smoking, destroying his health. As an older sister and her guardian she wanted to be inside, make sure she is safe and he still looks like neglecting his duties. Clenched fist, eyes closed and a deep breath, she reminded herself. The man sighed heavily, the reason why she decided to talk to him was a mystery.

“Just what do you want? An autograph or what?!” Frustration was rising inside him, how much he didn't want to be there.

“For you to be your best tonight!”

She screamed from the tops of her lungs, being on the edge of crying. This simple request was the hardest part of the conversation. Not talking to someone famous or amazingly handsome but saying out loud one unreasonable request. She understood that he was also a human being, probably tired of the life he was going through at that moment. At least that was Kiki’s theory behind the change of his behaviour and as it was making her worried… Even with growing internal conflict she said that, making the singer shocked by the sudden burst of young woman’s emotions.

“That’s all I wanted to say,” she added between deep breaths she was taking just to not let tears start falling. She wanted to avoid the embarrassment and just disappear, hoping he would quickly forget about their strange meeting. “I am sorry for that. I will take care of it,” she showed the butt she was still holding, ready to throw it away.

The idol felt strange and he didn’t want her to go, but like something invisible stopped him from making her stop. Suddenly a strong wind was running through the lane. Leaves were going around the circles and the woman’s cap was blown off. As she turned around to catch it, he could finally see her and it was the most stunning sight he ever experienced.

With the beauty she had, having the world at her feet seemed like the easiest thing to do. He couldn’t understand why it had to stay hidden and wanted to see it even more. Her oval and natural face, as she hated doing make-up, with symmetrical features. Auburn hair was visible, but its length had to stay a mystery for a moment. The moment the woman catched the cap their eyes met for a brief moment. The hazel colour was magnetising for him, but she quickly turned around again, still not making him out of the charm. Then she was not ready to leave without the word, took a deep breath and smiled to herself.

“Please don’t let her down or I will find you and kill you.” Jokes were not her speciality and the silence made her sure this one was a failure too, but she didn’t need to care, as she was sure it was their first and the last meeting.
