Chapter 4:
The Wind Showed You to Me
The plan was executed perfectly. No one cares if Kazuya was spending hours walking around the city until he wasn't late for practices and just did what he was supposed to within acceptable time. He even tried to be more involved in other’s social media, so fans could think how strong their friendship is. Also his secret phone finally showed up the value, as he was using it to go through millions of accounts to find the younger sister. The reason behind that seemed obvious for him, everyone was using that app, the group was active there, so for sure as their fan she had to have one too.
But after a while the exhaustion finally hit him. Week after week passed without any results, the phone at the end of the day was so heavy that he barely checked a few accounts, while in the beginning his determination let him see a hundred at least. It made him also happy when he started spotting how ragtag and cool their fans were. He even observed some of them using his personal and blank account. If he wanted to share something, he was aware there were some crazy fans who would find out and that though itself was scary. Playing detectives, looking for details, all to know everything about the idol, even trail, to have an occasion to catch him and have him only for themselves.
It was about the time Kazuya wanted to give up, when he saw the light in the company's building in one of the rehearsal rooms, which they are using the most often. The boss located all charges quite close and gave them an opportunity to train anytime and a lot of them used it. This time it was Sho and Kazuya, led by curiosity, found his friend singing so beautifully that he started crying. He rapidly opened the door and startled him and it looked like it could give him a heart attack.
“What the hell is wrong with you?!”
“Nothing, except I was moved by your voice so much and I needed to express it.” Kazuya smiled innocently.
“By scaring me?” Sho was skeptical, also considering overall change in the other’s behaviour.
“Look. I cried and I admit that I forgot you can sing like an angel.” Kazuya tried to emphasize a lot of admiration in the last word.
“Not that anyone wants me to do so.” The vocalist sighed and started to gather his things. “But thanks. Anyway, what are you doing here? Going back to the dorm?”
“Yes, but I am kinda hungry, so I will go to grab something and then go back.”
Sho was thinking for the moment to announce he will join him. Initially the awkwardness couldn’t be broken as lately they only talk when it is necessary and situations like that one asked for some serious conversation. The vocalist was the one who gathered the courage first, after all the role of the oldest and a leader belonged to him, making Kazuya pretty surprised.
“You know Kazu, that I don’t want to sing forever?”
“I am not shocked by this news.” A younger one was watching Sho for a moment trying to figure out why and in which direction this conversation is going.
“At least not the way I do it right now. I miss the times when I didn’t have to move and could focus on conveying the emotions. Who will cry now hearing me?” He spat. “All I do is try to execute moves and sing at the same time, when I hate all this running, jumping and waving hands.”
Kazuya burst into laughter and for that Sho hit him lightly on the shoulder.
“I am sorry. I just didn’t think I would ever hear so many complaints from you. Not from always being serious, ‘I will deal with it’ Sho. That’s why you are ask for letting you try acting?”
“Kind of. I don’t think our situation will change for a while. Our fame as a group will fade sooner or later, so I am treating it as a cover and maybe then I could sing like I want to.”
“I hope it will happen.” Kazuya patted friend on the shoulder, he realized something important. Both needed some catharsis, so the younger idol used an opportunity to do so, when Sho asked: “What about you? I don’t think your sudden fire for work happened without a reason.”
“There is a reason and I am looking for her.”
“Her?” Sho raised one of his eyebrows. “Now, I want to hear more.”
The words started flowing themselves. It was not a long story to be told but Kazuya put a lot of emotions into the presentation, and his companion was a truly good listener. They were so focused on the conversation, so they didn’t look over at a girl passed in the doorway, who waved goodbye to the old lady standing behind the counter. It took a while until Kazuya realised who that was, he put everything vigorously in front of the cashier, whose gaze was full of suspicion.
“I am sorry m’am, but is there a chance you know the girl who left a few minutes ago?” Kazuya was holding his breath, waiting for the answer with heart pounding crazily in the chest, while Sho had an inkling about what was going on.
“Is this everything for you?” The old lady asked harshly.
“Yes, but please m’am answer me. Do you know her?” The older idol almost pitied his friend, hearing how desperate he sounded.
“Why should I?” She was still unmoved, giving the card back.
“Because I am asking nicely and I was looking for her for a while.”
“Hmm, you were looking for her, that’s interesting.” Another analyzing glance from head to toe. “I don’t like it and I don’t like you. No more questions. I need to protect my girls. Leave and never come back here.” Her voice was so cold, that made Sho shiver.
“So that means you know her! Please tell me anything!”
Kazuya was screaming while his leader was dragging him outside. A short but strong shake had to happen so the desperate one got his mind on the right track. Sho decided it was for the best if they are going back.
“But why couldn’t she just help me?”
“At least you have more info than before.” The leader reminded him. “I don’t say, when I met you I wanted to be witness to your failure but for sure not like that.”
“Thank you for honesty.” Kazuya pouted and opened a can of soda. “Is my situation that bad?”
“It’s tragic.”
