Chapter 4:

A Normal Day of a Live Streamer

Kanojo wa Koe dake - A Love Beyond the Screen

It was Saturday when HikariAi went live again and thousends of viewers tuned into that stream as always. For the beginnig of the live stream, she talked about the things that happened in her week and especially in the first week of the seconed year of highschool. The live chat went crazy as she mentioned someone she found interesting even though she didn't mean it in a romantical way. And so the discussion went on.
[Ad0sense]: "Is the boy your type?"
The questions got really personal from that point but HikariAi wasn't paying attantion to that. She only wanted to be nice to everyone and answer as many questions as possible. That's why so many people follow her and love her.
"I don't really know if he's my type. But I think he looks cute though." HikariAi answered the question. But suddenly she switched the topic.
"Anyways, my first week was wonderful, everyone was nice to me and everything's fine so now we come to the main reason of this stream y'all been waiting for! Let's play your favorite game!" said HikariAi with a slightly unconfortable tone. Some viewers noticed that and asked why but they got no answer. HikariAi was playing the game now and was only talking about the game. Even Ren felt that the whole situation was weird but not only her sudden switch of topics but also in general.
The game was really fun to watch and as HikariAi was playing, the stream reached the highest number of viewers of all time.
"Thank you sooo much everyone! You're such a great community my Ais! I never thought soo many people would be watching my live stream. You really like this game, huh?" said HikariAi with great joy. In response to that the chat said things like:
[BelovedOne144]: "No, not because of the game but because of youu Hikari-chan!"
[ShadowHeart]: "I love you, not the game."
[NightOwlJP]: "The game is good but your content is better!"
And there were many more comments like that.
If you wonder if Ren was amongst the comments, no, he wasn't because just like in real life he doesn't really like to talk to others than his friend Haruto Kanda.
Nearly four hours passed while playing the game, it was five o'clock in the evening when the stream slowly came to an end.
"Soooo my beloved Ais. I think at this point we can call it a day right? I think this is a good save point and a good opportunity to end the stream. I'm a bit exhausted and I still have stuff to do" said HikariAi.
[User_04156]: "Oh no, already? I could only enjoy thirty minutes of your gameplay." said the viewer with a sad emoji.
[CtrlAltHug]: "Okay, have a nice day and till next time!"
The mood was mixed just like always. Some viewers were sad, some were looking forward to the next stream and complimented HikariAi for the good stream she made.
"Okay then, thank y'all very much for watching and see y'all next time my beloved Ais!" and with that words, HikariAi ended the live stream.
The sixteen-year-old Airi Fujimoto laid her headset on the desk, next to the keyboard of her new and high-end PC set-up. Ren could only dream about something like this. He was lucky enough that his parents were generous enough to financially support him a little with buying his PC. While Airi Fujimoto's parents were quite wealthy due to their jobs. Her father was an owner of a fairly big company and her mother was the secretary of the same company. That's even how they met each other.
That also meant for Airi, that she was most of the time alone and as an only child she was lonely most of these times. That's why she wished for a PC to better interact with people online and to free her mind from loneliness.
Since she began streaming, her life felt a little better. The positive feedback from all of her viewers gave Airi confidence in these times.
It's normal to ask at this point why she isn't doing anything with her friends, even though she's so popular. But Airi knows that not every friend is a real friend, and sadly, most of them want to be a friends with her just because she's good-looking, smart and always caring about others.
The only real friend she has or she sees as that is her best friend Hana Kanzaki from the class 2-B. She's also sixteen years old, just like Airi and is only a little bit taler than her. She's also really popular among her classmates, she has dark blond, shoulder-length hair—which she usually wore open or with a side braid—, dark green eyes and is in generall very beautiful. She's also someone you can always talk to.
Airi's streams were always without camera because she knew that privacy is very important and she didn't want to be recognized everywhere she was going. She liked playing video games on stream or to only chat with her chat about the newist things that happened the other day.
As Airi put her headset down, she got a text message from Hana Kanzaki, her best friend.
"WOW, you went viral again Airi! And who is the boy you were talking about?!"
"Yeah, I saw that! Amazing how many people like me and my content!" answered Airi without acknowledging a single thing about what Hana asked her about "the boy".
"They don't even like you Airi, they love you. Watch out before someone gets too creepy." texted Hana back.
"Yes, I'll watch out for that."
Since Airi still didn't say who "the boy" was, Hana called Airi now.
"What do you want Hana? Why don't you text me anymore but instead you're calling me?"
"Because you ignored my question earlier and that hurts!" said Hana in a mock-indignant tone.
"What question?" Airi then asked, somewhat embarrassed.
"The question was about the boy you mentioned. Didn't you read a thing I wrote you? I mean, I have even told you, that you should stop talking about him and you've done so, so you must've read it at least once!"
"Ah, that!" Airi pretended to remember, even though she'd never forgotten. "Well, I don't know if you can remember him but it's Sato-san from last year. We were all in the same class. His best friend Kanda-san is also in my class."
"Ah yeah, I can vaguely remember Sato-san but I remember Kanda-san very well. Sato-san was always by himself or with Kanda-san right? And Kanda-san was the total opposite of him. He was more hanging around with us and other classmates than before, right?"
"Yes, but at the end, Kanda-san was more with Sato-san I think."
"And this Sato-san is now your vice president? How did that happen?" asked Hana surprised.
"I don't really know but I'm happy to get to know him better now." answered Airi
"But is that all? I'm very hungry and tired. I'm going to cook and eat something now and then I want to go to bed."
"Oh, okay. No that's everything. I hope you sleep well Airi-chan!" said Hana and hung up.
That's how it often was. Airi woke up. Made and ate breakfast alone, learned or did homework for school, made and ate lunch alone, streamed for several hours and made and ate dinner alone and after that she went, most of the times, straight to bed. That's the life she had to live, with both of her parents working at a fairly big company.
And so she went to sleep on that Saturday.
