Chapter 2:

A New Beginning

The Redemption Arc

It almost feels humane as a smile spreads across my face. What a day to be alive. I will have to start small and see the limitations of these powers of mine, before I plot anything crazy. The trains feel as if they move quicker today as I see the reflection in the mirror. I wonder what I might do today? How early should I go home? 6? 7? 8? It feels bizarre to even start thinking about those numbers. So far I haven't been able to wipe this smirk off my face until I had reached the studio. Well, I wouldn't want to call it that.

"Last minute cancellation" I say to security as I walk in.

Out the glass doors are animators, bound to their desks, working tirelessly all while I sit here doing nothing. It's time to turn things around. After all this is my revenge! As I press the button to boot up his computer, I see in the there are 3 drawers under the table.  I open the first one, nothing but, different manga and dvd copies of different anime we have done in the past. How anti-climatic. I open the second one, it seems to full of different pay slips to the different people working here. I put the all in the bin next to me and grab the below them. I begin writing new pay slips. Pay day is tomorrow, so let's make it a little fun.  I begin writing similar hours to ones before but, increase the rate of pay. This is what is must feel to be morally correct. What a feeling, this is what it must mean to morally righteous.

After putting the stamp on all of theme I place them neatly back in the drawer. I pull. I pull harder. I last one seems to be locked shut. Dammit. I've come far and done so little. This is unfair. There's no way this can right. Upon closer inspection, the lock isn't the different and not positioned straight. Slanted to the left. There might be a lock behind this one. Trying that come with no luck. With all the frustration and contempt filled inside me I kick the table. A drawer from the side slowly seeps out. It's a secret drawer? What a cliche. I push the chair back to get a better look at what in the drawer.

Nothing? Really? No, I remember a common technique of hiding thing under drawer were to keep a fake bottom in the drawer. I t was featured, i think in Death Note. A fake bottom in the drawer to hide the notebook. Yes, I am just like light. No, I am just like Kira. I will be 3rd Kiras. Pick up where the other two failed. I'm going to call my self the Kira 4. My shirt feels drenched in sweat as I begin to pick up the fake bottom of the drawer. Who would have guessed something like this lurked here.
