Chapter 730: The Destined Lovers Alternate Universe

Back with Sasha.

A male demon shouts, “Ye who would side with the light, face your judgment!”

Sasha raises an eyebrow as the gang of demons charge straight for her. Even ganging up on her, they are no match. She punches all of them one by one before any of them can land a single hit. She is both faster and stronger than them. After one punch each, they are all down for the count.

However, a large demon horde starts appearing from a big cluster of trees at the field’s exit.

She grits her teeth. “I don’t have time for this.”

She turns around and runs. The angry demons give chase, some of which shout, “Kill the traitorous heretic!”

As Sasha runs, she thinks, “This absolutely must be another alternate universe! But what’s the story in this one?! One of them mentioned something about siding with the light, but I need to know more than that! I hope Zeth is in this same one!”

Meanwhile with Zeth.

The angels have Zeth surrounded and the Zaydra of this alternate universe makes her way inside the circle of angels to confront Zeth.

“Zaydra, what is going on here?!” Zeth asks urgently.

AU Zaydra sneers. “Don’t play dumb with me! Just because it’s been some time since you last showed your face doesn’t mean we’ve forgiven you for betraying Heaven…! For betraying Mother!”

“What the hell are you talking about?!” Zeth asks, completely dumbfounded. “I didn’t betray anyone!”

AU Zaydra stomps the stone floor in frustration, cracking it a bit. “Silence!! You will pay for what you’ve done!” She lunges forward trying to punch Zeth. He sidesteps and grabs her arm to stop the punch.

“Just calm down!” Zeth demands. “Explain what is going on!”

“Shut up!!” AU Zaydra screams as she breaks free of his grasp and successfully punches him in the face, causing him to stumble back a bit.

Zeth quickly thinks to himself. “This Zaydra still has both of her eyes so this is not my world’s Zaydra! I don’t know what is going on in this alternate universe but I need to get away!”

Zaydra charges her fists with magic energy.

Zeth glares at her, turning completely serious. “You have my sister’s face, so I’d hate to have to do this to you, but…”

As AU Zaydra lunges forward to attack, Zeth grabs her by the neck, and punches her in the gut with his other hand, causing her to cough up some blood. He then kicks her back, knocking over the angels in the path. With the opening created, Zeth dashes forward, past both the knocked-over angels and AU Zaydra, who is coughing as she tries to get back up.

AU Zaydra turns her head toward Zeth as he sprints away, she grits her teeth as some blood flows down her chin. “Don’t let him escape!!!!”

Meanwhile, a hooded figure stands on top of a city building, watching them.

As Zeth runs, more winged angels fly down from above and join the grounded angels in pursuit.

Zeth looks over his shoulder, clenching his teeth as he heads toward the city. He thinks, “Despite what they want to do to me, and this being an alternate universe, I don’t want to kill them!”

Once he enters the city, the humans all start staring at him with interest as they also notice the angels pursuing him. He thinks, “Would they really be willing to put all these people in danger just to take me out?!”

He soon comes across a T-shaped intersection. He forms a Star Shine Blast in his left hand and fires it directly down at the ground beneath him, causing an explosion that leaves a smoke cloud. The angels can’t tell whether Zeth went left or right due to the smoke so they split up and go both ways.

In Zeth’s path, he mixes in with a large crowd. The angels that took the correct path don’t spot him so they stop in their tracks.

Zeth thinks, “Thankfully, there are plenty of people with blonde hair here so they can’t point me out so easily.”

He walks calmly through the large crowd. He passes by an alley, and is immediately grabbed by someone and pulled in. It’s the hooded figure who was watching him earlier. The hooded figure runs while leading him by the hand.

“Who are you?!” Zeth demands to know.

“I think you know quite well,” the hooded person replies.

The hooded person lifts up a sewer lid at the end of the alley and motions Zeth down inside. Closing the lid, the hooded person joins Zeth at the bottom on a walkway alongside sewer water.

“No, seriously, just who are you?” Zeth asks in a serious tone.

The hooded person pulls down the hood, revealing herself to be Pearl.

“Pearl?” Zeth asks, surprised. “Did you get sent to this alternate universe as well?”

Pearl takes a step forward, disappointment etched on her face. “Zeth, what are you doing here? Why aren’t you in the Dimension of Deities? After all the trouble you went through to get there, why would you come back?”

Zeth looks speechless for a moment before he utters one word. “Huh?”

“Are you okay, Zeth?” Pearl asks, becoming confused. “Do you have amnesia?”

Zeth rubs his cheek, avoiding eye contact as he says, “Right… I guess you are this alternate universe’s Pearl…”

AU Pearl tilts her head, staring at him completely flabbergasted. “What are you talking about…?”

Zeth sighs. “This is going to be a long story, isn’t it?”

AU Pearl’s expression turns serious, ready to listen to his story.

Zeth begins. “You see, I’m not ‘your’ Zeth. We’re from different universes entirely. In other words, this universe is an alternate universe from my own.”

“What? But how?” AU Pearl asks, now intrigued.

“We’re facing an enemy in our universe that has the ability to open portals to alternate universes. Don’t ask me how he could possibly do it, but he can. This is the second alternate universe I have been sent to. The me of the first alternate universe is apparently an evil tyrant, and in this one… I’m a traitor? I guess?”

AU Pearl nods. “The ‘you’ of this universe entered into a forbidden relationship with the Dark Goddess’s daughter, Sasha. ‘You’ were deemed a traitor and were being hunted down, but I helped ‘you’ get to the Dimension of Deities which is where I assume ‘you’ still are.”

Zeth rubs the top of his head, smiling to the point he almost laughs. “Uhh, well you see, in my universe, I’m actually outright married to Sasha, and not only is it not forbidden, it’s widely accepted. In fact, we’ve ended the war between Heaven and Hell. Peace has been achieved.”

AU Pearl looks at him in awe. “Oh, wow! To think that’s even possible!” She chuckles before continuing. “Perhaps you two really were destined to be lovers. Well, as long as you’re here, you can refer to this as the Destined Lovers Alternate Universe. You can even refer to me as DL Pearl if you want. I guess I have one more question. Is your universe’s Sasha here too?”

“I would assume so,” Zeth replies. “We were both sent through a portal at the same time.”

“And she hasn’t been with you since you got here?”

“No.”

“…Oh no. This universe’s Sasha was also being pursued!”

Zeth’s eyes widen as he comes to the realization. “Then that means…!”

Back to Sasha.

Sasha continues running from the demon horde. However, a large object flies down from the sky at blazing speed and lands on the ground in front her, causing it to rumble as a dust cloud kicks up.

Sasha stops as she asks in a loud tone, “What’s that?”

The dust cloud quickly clears as DL Harmona stands up, glaring at Sasha furiously. The demon horde also stops, shocked to see DL Harmona.

“Her expression… That can’t be good…” Sasha mutters.

DL Harmona yells, “Tell me where Zeth is right now!!”

While Zeth is temporarily safe with DL Pearl, Sasha finds herself in a tough situation, being confronted by a furious DL Harmona!
