Luna placed her phone beside her dinner plate after multiple failed attempts to call her father.

"You no eat, Una?”

Yuki asked as she walked past her.

"Otto san… Lying as always…”
Luna pouting.

"Luna!”

Her mom raised her voice then let out a heavy sighed.

Yuki turned on the TV but every channel was broadcasting breaking news.

"Miraii City is under fire!”

Luna and her mother, who had been staring at their food, suddenly lifted their heads and rushed to the TV.

"Around 8:15 pm, police were flooded with calls reporting bomb threats all over the city! Twenty percent of them were false reports but the police chief said…”

The news transitioned to a press conference with high ranking officers.

"There’s a possibility that some of them may be real and we are taking this seriously! We will do our best to protect the city! I urge everyone to stay calm and avoid speculation!”

Meanwhile, at the hospital...

"You outnumbered and outgunned! Gimme your girl!”

Kitai and the intruder froze at Amri’s words.

"Wha-… She’s 12!”
"Not her, dumbass! Your 19 girl!”

The intruder flinched.

"Why he asking for his daughter at a time like this?!”

Kitai knelt, pulled the Glock 19 strapped to his leg and handed it to Amri.

"You better keep her safe! She’s precious!”
"Depends!”
"He gave him his daughter?! JUST LIKE THAT?!”

Amri cocked the handgun, preparing for battle.

"Now wha-”

Kitai turned to his back but Amri already gone.

"How did he-…”

He noticed the sliding window on the wall was slightly open.

"So uhh, how’s your day?”
Kitai asked.

The intruder looked at his Uzi. 

"Who? Me?"

A sharp crack echoed from inside and the intruder turned to look. At the same time, Kitai moved from the outer wall.

"Put your weapon down!”
"You are surrounded! On your stomach!”

Both Kitai from outside and Amri from inside pointed their gun at him. The intruder dropped his Uzi and Kitai handcuffed him.

"I'll secure him! Go!"

Amri removed the magazine, cleared the chamber and disassembled the top cover, bolt and barrel.

"You pretty good for a midman huh?”
Kitai grinned.

"I somehow got dragged into this mess, turning me into a madman! Go f*cker!”

Kitai tapped on the intruder’s shoulder before moving alone into the dim hospital corridor. He flicked on his flashlight briefly, scanned the surroundings then turn it off. 

"Gimme your f*cking boss’ name!”

Amri shoved the handgun against the intruder’s head.

"Huh or what? Gonna f*cking shoot me?”

The intruder smirked.

"I just need a name! Amarok’s real name, Lobo!”

Amri twisted the gun sideways. The intruder flinched, his expression changing instantly. 

"Wha-… How did he-… Who is this guy?!”

Several staff members escorting patients out but stunned by Amri and the intruder at the main entrance.

"Let’s go talk somewhere else… privately…”

Amri dragged the intruder away.

At the same time, a helicopter landed on the hospital roof, dropping a teenage boy with earphone in hand crackling loudly.

"Tortilla roll-… jammer?! No wonder no response from him!”

He rushed inside the building by tapping his ID Card against the smart lock. He easily accessed through the restricted areas until he reached the ICU facility.

"Wha- WHO ARE YOU?!”
"HOW DID YOU?!”

The staff started to panic but he flashed his Special Police badge.

"Badge number 19142! The patient in Officer Kitai’s custody is actively being targeted! National Security Protocol has order us for immediate transfer!”

Two intruders were stood outside the ICU, armed with Uzis, holding a surgeon hostage, the same surgeon Kitai met earlier.

"Quick! You old fart ass!”
"This card doesn’t work! You pig!”

The surgeon shook her head and pointed it out to them.

"You both Idiot! The scanner has been turned off from the inside!”

"HEY!!! TURN IT BACK ON OR WE KILL HER!!!”

One of them smashed the door with his Uzi.

"They bluffing! Keep the patience saf- akhh!”

One of them choked the surgeon from the back. Kitai open fire and hit the intruder that smashing the door but immediately took cover as the other shooting back. Two bullet grazed Kitai’s arm and hit his right shoulder before he took cover.

"Playing hide and seek, officer?”
The intruder laughed.

"Let her go! She’s innocent! Ughh! Forget the graveyard shift, why no one doing a security check?!"

Kitai knelt, clutched his shoulder and pressed the PTT on his radio but it was still affected by the jammer.

"Oi-… Help…”

The intruder who had been shot lay on the floor, glancing up.

"Hey, he needs help, let m-”
"Nah!"

The intruder shot him down.

"Woy-… Sheet! Ughh!”

Kitai breathed heavily, resisting the pain from his gunshot wound.

"Been long I wanna do that!”
The intruder smirked.

The surgeon frowned in disbelief.

"Tha- that’s your friend! Where’s your humanity?!”
"Friend? Heh… I no longer human the second I joined the pack! Awuuuu!!!”

The intruder howling but the surgeon doesn’t convince.

"Identity disturbance? This guy is mentally unstable…”
She whispered.

"You sure calm, doc… Ughh!”

Kitai putting pressure on his wound.

"I seen blood everyday, officer! Hey wolf guy, got a son? A daughter maybe?”

Both Kitai and the intruder flinched.

"You know, wolves may be wild, but they love their family!”
"Where you going with this?!”

He tighten his grip on her. She closed her eyes.

"Im- imagine… your child-… being held like thi-”
"Shut the f*ck up!”

She opened her eyes and smiles.

"Maybe your mom-”
"I SAID SHUT-”

A flashbang grenade suddenly landed, produced an intense light and deafening bang.

"MOVE! MOVE!”

The tactical police team stormed in, subduing the intruder and rescuing both Kitai and the surgeon.

"Officer, you alright?”
"What took you guys so long?!”
"Sounds good to me!”

Under the full moon, Amri walked alone, with both hands in his pocket.

"First ingredient acquired!”

Kitai returned home after getting his treatment, only to get rushed by his wife and daughter.

"Anata!”
"Ottooo sannnn!!!”

They hugged him but he shows a pain reaction, making them pulled back.

"Ughh!”

He squeezed his eyes close, clutching his right shoulder.

"Anata?”
"Otto san… What happened?!”

He opened his eyes and hold his arm.

"No- nothing… I… Aaa… I fell down the stairs haha! Also Luna…”

He knelt and patted his daughter’s head left handed.

"Im sorry… I failed to keep my promise agai- ahhh!”

His wife slapped his wounded shoulder.

"That’s not important right now! Sighed… Thank god the bomb threats were false!”
"Otto san! Tell us the story!”

Holding his shoulder, Kitai took a deep breath.

"Sheet, how do I start? Aaa, I was eating my donut when suddenly… BOOM!”

Yuki, who slept soundly in the bedroom, suddenly awoke.

"Then uhh… Dispatch yelled Code Red! Bombs all over the city! I jump into action, swoosh! And then uhh…”
"Otto san… Out of many lies you told, this one is the worst one yet…”

He got a medical leave on the next day but his sleep was interrupted by a phone call.

"Ughh… Hallo?”
"Morning donut lover! Im outside your house!”
"Amri?!"

Kitai rushed to the window and saw Amri, sat in his car, honking cheerfully.

"Wha-… What you doing in front of my house?!”
"Your suspect regained consciousness but he’s not cooperative! We need ya help!”

Kitai smiles while lowering his gaze.

"Ah! That’s a relieve! Why me, tho? I thought int- ehem! Special Police took over?”

Amri paused, letting out a heavy sigh.

"Someone is ‘core rap’ in PD, he said… So he doesn’t trust us… Ofc we didn’t tell him we were… Ehem! Different department but well… He only wanna talk with ya, so you coming or no-”

Kitai hung up and quickly took a shower.

"Which hopital you guys transfered him?”

He asked as he got into the car.

"Hikari Town!”

Amri put on his sunglasses, released the handbreak and hit the gas.

"Wait, you still didn’t renew your roadta-”

Kitai said but Amri adjusted the rearview mirror, revealing a box filled with donuts in the backseat.

"I’ll let it slide this time!”
"Ma man!”

They were pulled over by a police patrol due to expired roadtax. 

"Kitai…”
"Bob, hear me out..."

Amri offered a piece of donut to him.

"Sir, bribing an officer is a serious offense! Have a safe trip, sir!”

The police munched the donut as they drove away.
