Yamaguchi Kitai is a patrol officer under the Seigi Division of the Miraii City Police Department. His strong dedication to duty makes him respected by his colleagues, but it also creates distance between him and his family. No matter how many promises he makes to his daughter, he always ends up breaking them because work comes first.

Meanwhile, the community has grown frustrated and fearful. For nearly a decade, a mysterious wolf-like creature has been blamed for disappearances and deaths. Whenever someone goes missing, the citizens immediately point to this so-called beast as the cause.

Seeing the rising panic, Officer Kitai steps forward. Even though he’s only a patrol officer, he promises to take responsibility and put an end to the fear once and for all. Deep down, he hopes this will finally be the first promise he can keep—for his daughter, and for himself.
