Chapter 36:
Blades of the Shattered Chaplets: 4th Novel
Nobody had sensed it as it infiltrated Veymaru, The Leech, and Kaibo who had not moved the entire time from Isara’s strength, then made its way to Isara and Titan as well.
Titan was strong enough to evade its infiltration into his body and shoved it away, however it was persistent and instead entered into the sword Alcion, and then forced the tip of the blade to drip onto Titan.
It was different this time. Stronger. Harder to control. It was like someone had improved its abilities.
In a shocking turn of events, this substance began to take control. The World of White fell apart as Isara was no longer in control of herself, but Michiaki sensed something strange was going on and figured that Isara had lost.
Michiaki: “Aamon, stay here and fight. I’ll go get Kazuki really quick. I have a feeling she lost. I’ll be back in 1 minute. I know you can hold out.”
Aamon: “Right!”
Charles, who was inside the World of White did not make it in time to Isara, but the substance tried to invade his body too. In his mind, it slowly started to take over.
Charles: “I don’t know what you are, but you just stopped me from saving that little girl. You probably don’t know who I am because you're a lowly level monster, but let me introduce you. My name is Charles Foster. I have the strongest will in the world. Tempt me all you want, but at this very moment, nothing is stronger than my mind. Now. Get out.”
The black substance did not willingly obey this order, but for some reason, it couldn’t penetrate his mind. It had gained control of even Titan Alcion and Isara Alcion, but this mere human was impenetrable.
It backed off, but the World of White fell and Charles noticed this. He ran to save Isara, but she began to attack him as if they were enemies. “Tch!” he yelled. “Isara! Trust your mind! Know who you are and you can beat anything!”
Charles backed off next to Aamon who was prepared to go to war with the 4 creatures now before them.
In Aamon’s ear was a voice that he was unfamiliar with. “Hey stranger. Name’s Lorenzo Cain. You don’t know who I am, but tell Michiaki this. The only way to beat that thing is to let it invade you and take control of it. That means you have to live with it forever. I spent enough time with it to know. It cut down my lifespan pretty good, but thank Michiaki for me. He healed my wife’s illness with that stupid teddy bear. Agh, you won’t understand any of this. Listen to me, that thing will kill everything in its path. If it touches you, then you’re infected. The only other way to get rid of it is to kill its user, but I have no idea who that is. Your best bet is to get Michiaki and that other man by your side. Goodluck.”
And like that, Lorenzo Cain had appeared and then disappeared with his wife to live out the rest of his life. It was like he did not care about anything anymore and this whole time he had planned to cure his wife, sacrificing everything for her.
Aamon did not know who this man was, but he took his words to heart and listened to them. “Kazuki and Michiaki are on their way. We need to hold out for 30 more seconds. Charles, you should be able to do that, right?”
Charles: “Yeah, let’s fucking do it.”
In a matter of 30 seconds, the area shrouded in different colored mana and chaplets that flung everywhere. Meteors rained down from the sky along with constellations and stars, absolutely obliterating the area.
When the rubble cleared, Charles was pierced directly with the point of a silver glowing constellation and Aamon was battered and bruised, but reversed time in his favor, however he couldn’t help Charles.
He fought tirelessly, holding back the four of them despite his stature. Aamon battled 3 Realm Rulers, an awakened Isara, and a former 1st Reverend. but could only do so much. He questioned where Michiaki and Kazuki were, but continued onwards while Charles pulled the Constellation out of his chest and acted as if nothing had happened even as he bled from his chest.
At his wits end, Aamon fell to one knee, absolutely exhausted. He looked up and screamed out his wife’s name. “RACHEL! GIVE ME STRENGTH!”
In this moment, his body ignited in green mana spirals and a continuous flow of mana that extended all the way to his enemies.
Aamon: “Ha! I guess she heard me. Well, not much of a choice then. Michiaki, you better make sure this kills everyone. This time, my mind won’t be lost, but my entire soul. Even you won’t be able to save me. Kill me before I wreck this world…Resonate with my body’s sacrifice to match my enemies. For they shall receive the same pain that I hinder. Save Point Soul: “Resona–!”
Michiaki: “AAMON! STOP IT! NO!”
He didn’t listen to Michiaki, but instead, his voice was cut off by a mysterious figure. It wasn’t human, but he didn’t know what it was. A grey mist shaped like a human, but with limited features.
Everyone stood confused, but Kazuki appeared next to Michiaki, smirked and let the smoke-like human take over. Rushing around as if teleporting, multiple of him appeared behind every person in the area, healing everyone and then ripping out the black substance from everyone infected.
Titan immediately swung down at the mist, yelling, screaming, and battering in anger, then unleashing what seemed like death amongst them all, making even Charles pass out along with Aamon, Kaibo, Isara, Michiaki, and the other 2 Realm Rulers.
Kazuki walked forward as the rest slumbered. “Angry, aren’t we?”
Titan: “Kazuki…Is this all your plan? Ha! You believe that you can defeat me? Do you not remember what happened the last time that we met?”
Kazuki: “Ah yes. You orchestrated Isamu’s attack on everyone, forcing me to take the blame on myself. Don’t worry. I do not forget things. I see you wanted me to kill everyone and make a poor name for myself.”
Titan: “You’re a poor excuse of a man. The strongest? Do people really believe that? Look at what I have created. Look at my strength. Even you would fall at the power of a Great Swordsman. What a shame. You believe that you have to save people? For what? Look what I did to you. Forced you to seal yourself to protect your precious reputation. You care for no reason. Caring makes you weak.”
Kazuki: “No Titan. You just do not know the truth of having pride as a swordsman. Look me in the eyes and tell me that you are not scared of the man that stands before us. Or have you forgotten his name? Let me remind you…Meyumaru, The Devil.”
Titan: “Tch! Who allowed you out of the Dark Realm, you wretched Beast.”
The Devil spoke in a very choppy and staticky voice, but he raised a hand at Titan as if to shame him for his actions.
Titan: “What a nuisance the both of you are. Shall I show you why they call me a God? Your skills have weakened, Devil. You’ve been stuck for too long. And you, Kazuki. You’ve never stood a chance against me ever.”
Kazuki sighed. “Ah well, Saikou! Are you done with all the preparations?”
Saikou suddenly appeared from under the ground and shook his head in approval.
Kazuki: “I see. Good job pal. I’m proud of you. You made that deal with the Great Sovereign knowing what would happen and not the world needs to be reset and you’re willing to do this to yourself. What a beautiful being you are. Never change. I promise you that you will return to what you are right now, and next time, you will be able to talk and chat and have fun with your new friends. I’ll make sure of it.”
Saikou jumped up and down in happiness, knowing that he was doing a good job. Despite all the powers of the world that gathered to fight against their enemies, the Swordsmen were not enough. Not even the elves could’ve fought against Titan and King, nor could the remaining fairies that were protected in the Elves land.
Kazuki and Saikou had been planning this since the start, knowing what would happen, and the Devil’s appearance was all they needed to begin. The Grey mist surrounded Titan and strapped him into place.
He screamed out loud, giving everything he had, causing havoc and even some mana to leak from the Devil’s control, trying to target Kazuki.
To his surprise, out of everyone, Charles Foster stood in front and purposely took the hits of the intense mana that would’ve killed anyone, but him of course.
Charles: “I-I told you, you stupid God. Don’t look down on humans.”
Kazuki: “I see. You are truly magnificent, Charles Foster. What a beautiful human you are. I shall commend you for this.”
Kazuki needed 30 seconds to activate his abilities as he sat down and slowly yelled out loud, getting louder and louder as his hair changed to a bright red and his eyes a bright white.
All of his mana expelled from his body, which stretched so far that nobody could see it. It was so thick and plentiful that it woke up everyone else around them, but paused them from moving.
Saikou gave the thumbs up to Aamon who had been communicating with him and Kazuki telepathically via a Tone Chaplet. Aamon nodded his head as this was the only option, knowing that he gave everything he had earlier in his fight.
The remaining black substance perished from the sheer might of Kazuki’s mana and Aamon looked sideways to see an approaching figure. A figure in a green cape who was masked, but carried a glowing orange sword that targeted Kazuki in desperation.
He sliced down, but was repelled and hundreds of black substances the same as before ran down from his coat, trying to infect Kazuki, but could not get close whatsoever. Nobody knew what was going on, but then Kazuki yelled even louder and his mana got thicker and thicker until it was like sludge and nobody could move a centimeter.
Kazuki: “CHAOS! TAKEOVER!”
He yelled so loud that it shattered the sound barrier, and then…
Nothingness.
