Chapter 9: Ketsueki

12 Months Later:

" It has already been 12 months," I said while smiling sorely as I got ready to leave.

I got my backpack ready with some food, other necessities, and many other things and crammed them into my loused up bag.

I ran to the gates where all the people who had taken care of me stood about.

" Do not get yourself killed, kid, remember all the training you did, do not let it go into vain," he said.

I ran through the magnanimous gates with tears flowing through my eyes as I tried to hide it, as I walked in the slowest manner possible.

" Men don't cry, kid," he said with a serious expression on his face.

" Show this god damn world what a normal kid like you can achieve," he screamed!

" I will miss you guys," I said while more tears flow through my eyes as if it was a wave of water.

I sped up and accelerated as fast as I can as the military base became a distant memory I will remember forever.

A lot of thought collided into my brain, from every piece of training I did to everything I learned about my new-found power.

There was a gigantic beast blocking my path, as I expeditiously stopped to prevent collision with such a creature.

It had a green slimy body with curvy whetted claws, extended antenna-like ears, microscopic nit-like eyes, extended wings that looked like the fans of an airplane, and four prolonged feet ready to stomp anything that comes by its path like thor's hammer crushing its enemy into oblivion. It was a grasshopper.

" Time to put my training to use," I thought while smiling creepily as if I was a serial killer who had heard the screams of agony of my victim who I had transfixed and slowly lacerated his arms as the blood splattered everywhere.

[Light bullet]

I pointed my fingers at the grasshopper in a gun-like shape as lanceolated bullets of light left my hand and perforated the ribs of the grasshopper as if it was the whetted edges of a spear impaling its victim.

Yes, the light was my power. I did not realize it was my power until 2 months into my training when I started to release these yellow shiny bullets. I can not travel at light speed because I have a mass and you can not travel at light speed if weigh something. But I have noticed during my training is that no matter how much I eat, I am decreasing in weight by 50 grams every day. But I do not feel any different. I suspect that my power has something to do with this and in about 3.5 years, I will lose my total mass and be able to travel at light speed.

Even after being perforated by my light bullets, the grasshopper got up and tried to shave me into grass cuttings with its serrated claws. But I managed to escape with my speed. I accelerated to my best speed and got into my boxing stance and bashed it with my fist as I went through its thick and scaly skin with brute force, sending green grasshopper gue everywhere.

" That was easy," I said, smiling with relief. " I probably would have lost if I fought this thing before I learned to control this power," I thought while getting ready to speed run through this place.

My stop was at one of the unofficial safe zones by one of the organizations, Ketsueki. It is one of the 7 safe locations where my parents could be located at and thanks to Meishu's spies who gave me the location of each safe zone. Ketsueki was one of the most dangerous but one of the biggest safe zones. Katsueki meaning blood because here power was everything and you can kill people for their food and no one would say anything.

Here killing, stealing, lynching and burning were all common and the leader could not care less. The leader of this safe zone was, Kyuketsuki also know as the blood demon. No one actually knew why he was called this but there was a rumor that it had something to do with his power. This place was also called Ketsueki because to live here you had to pay by giving some of your blood up every single day. No one knew where this blood was going and what it was used for.

I was nearly there in the unofficial safe zone. I prayed that my parents would be here and I prayed that I would not get into any unnecessary fights because I did not want to get into anything but boy did you know I got into a lot of things.
