Chapter 7:

Family

Crown Of Zethor

Chapter 7

"My son… You finally opened your eyes!"

Zen felt like females around him were having a competition on how to kill someone by suffocating them with their breasts.

The scapegoat for this competition was the brilliant experiment object, him.

As he thought about random stuff, He was being embraced tightly by his mother. More accurately, it was the mother of the previous soul, but given the circumstances, it was not wrong to say that she was now his mother.

"Mother… R-release me…"

It was only after he said those words that Zen was finally able to escape the blissful hell.

"Oh I'm sorry. I just wasn't able to hold myself back after I finally saw you awake."

His mother said as she stepped back.

'Uhh, I really thought I was gonna die.'

Zen thought as he gave out a wry smile and wondered why every woman he met was hell bent on crushing his body with a hug.

After some breaths, he finally calmed down and looked at the people gathered around him.

After Anna had calmed down, she had quickly called his parents

His parents had come running after hearing the news that he had woken up. In particular, His mother had hugged him tight the moment she entered, making him unable to even see her or open his mouth to talk to her.

It had happened so abruptly that Zen hadn't gotten the time to react at all.

As he finally calmed down, he looked at the people gathered in his room and he couldn't help, but think that nobles were all too perfect creatures, at least in flesh.

'It feels like I'm in some sort of beauty event. Why is my family so pretty? Do all nobles have such pretty features?'

He wondered as he stared at his parents.

He had seen his father before, but he didn't have much time to admire his appearance. Now that he was looking at him seriously, he realised that his father was a handsome man.

He had a sharp jawline and a face that could easily compete with a top actor. His moustache didn't hinder his appearance, but gave it a more manly aura.

Zen was sure that his father would have attracted a lot of girls in his youth.

On the other hand, his mother was also on the same level as his father, maybe higher.

She had a gentle appearance with deep brown eyes and brown shoulder length hair. Her face was still youthful with no signs of aging.

Her body was in great shape too. She could easily compete with the top models of earth with that figure.

Her gentle eyes were still soaked with tears of happiness as she looked at him.

Despite already being the mother of a teenage boy, she looked like she was in her late 20s and Zen was sure that he would have been attracted to her as a man if not for the motherly feelings he had for her.

And since he was talking about looks, there was someone even more beautiful than his mom present in the room.

His maid.

'Even she is incredibly pretty!'

She wasn't a nobility, Zen knew this because of his memories. But she was so beautiful that it was hard to distinguish that she was a maid if not for her outfit.

Especially the way she looked at him. Any man would get jealous of Zen if they saw such beautiful and affectionate eyes directed only towards him.

"Zen, how are you feeling?"

He stopped admiring the appearance of his family when his father directed his gaze towards him and asked.

"I'm feeling better than before, but my body is still sore and it's hard to move my leg." He answered, taking glances at his broken leg.

"I had Bishop Arson apply healing spells to your body when you were brought here. I have called for him and he will be here soon to do a thorough examination of your body."

Viscount Ferox said with a hint of regret.

Although his son was saved, he still was frustrated with himself. His son had gone through a lot and nearly lost his life. He felt that it was because of his carelessness that his son had to go through such an experience.

"Can I come in?"

At that moment, there was a knock on the door.

Anna quickly went to open the door and it revealed an old man who was wearing a strange white cloak with a plus symbol covered by a viper ingrained on it .

"Bishop Arson, you don't have to ask for permission. Please come in and check my son's condition."

"You don't have to rush, Viscount Ferox. Young master has opened his eyes and that's a good thing. God Zyren is benevolent and he will surely not let anything happen to a good soul like your son."

The old Bishop named Arson said as he came close to Zen's bed.

'Bishop Arson'

Zen quickly scanned his memories and found information about him.

He was one of the Bishops from the church of Zyren and he has been coming to check up on Zen since his childhood. It was not wrong to say that the old priest was like a family doctor.

"Umm… Your eyes have a lot more energy now."

Bishop Arson said as he sat on a chair brought by Anna. For a second, Zen was scared that the old priest would find out that he was n

ot the original soul occupying this body.

After all, he knew - from his memories - that the priest was quite high ranked in the church of Zyren.

A Bishop was an honorable title and a rather strong one.

Even his father was obliged to show him a level of respect, but his worries were for nothing. Bishop Arson just took his hand and pressed his thumb on one of his visible nerves.

Then, he chanted some words and a strange, warm energy started flowing in his body. The energy travelled all over his body and Zen was tongue tied throughout the process.

After all, it was the first time he was experiencing magic.

'What a weird sensation it is…'

Although he knew about the existence of magic and supernatural powers through his memories, it was the first time he was actually seeing and feeling it.

He was bound to be shocked by it.

Soon, the warm energy inside his body died down like it was never there and Bishop Arson stopped holding his hands, having completed his body detection magic.

"WHAT…. How can this be ...No... it's!!"

He shouted out suddenly, scaring both of his parents. Anna looked like she was preparing herself to hear bad news.

"Bishop Arson, is my son okay?"

"What happened 1?! Has Zen's condition deteriorated?"

His parents asked, eager to inquire about his condition, but Bishop Arson shook his head and took a few deep breaths to calm himself down.

'God Zyren has finally shown his blessings to this poor child.'

He thought and thanked God Zyren in his heart

before announcing the good news to Zen's parents.

"You don't have to worry about anything. Actually, you should be happy as your son's condition has improved by leaps and bounds. I don't know how, but the mana inside his body is stable now and there are no complications."

"Bishop, you aren't lying, right?"

"I would never dare to joke about such a sensitive topic. I swear on God Zyren that I'm not lying. Your son's illness is finally showing improvement."

Bishop Arson's words became a sort of trigger and Zen's mother wasn't able to stop the tears running down from her cheeks. This time, the tears weren't because of worry, but happiness.

Even his father was emotional and started thanking God Zyren while hugging his wife.

The worst of them was Anna who looked like she would have already hugged Zen if not for his current condition and the presence of his parents.

The only confused one was Zen who wasn't able to quite take in this emotional atmosphere, but by the words spoken by his parents and Bishop Arson, he soon understood the situation.

'It looks like the illness plaguing the original soul has started to improve.'

He thought silently.

He wasn't quite sure why it had happened as even Bishop Arson can't point out the reason behind it. Zen had few speculations about it, but he was already tired from going through all these situations in a day.

'Let's think about all that stuff later.'

He decided to just observe his new family for now and restrained from speaking too much.

Next, his parents and Anna stayed by his side for a while before leaving him alone. His mother and Anna were reluctant, but his father insisted that he needed some rest.

Before leaving, Bishop Arson applied a few more healing spells to his body, making him feel more and more better. He left after giving some instructions to him and his parents.

"I'm finally alone."

Zen sighed as he laid down alone in his room.

His life has changed a lot in the last 12 hours, but those words were not even enough to describe the mess his life has become.

He thought about everything again and wondered if his original body was really dead. He wasn't able to think of a way he would have survived the malfunction.

His thoughts drifted to his parents and sisters and he wondered if they would have cried at his funeral.

At least he hoped they would have.

In the end, his eyelids got heavy due to the mental exhaustion and he found himself drifting back to sleep.

For some reason, it was the most peaceful sleep he got after a long time.
