Chapter 18:

Ivy’s Story

My Sister Found a Spaceship

I woke up in a weird room. I was probably unconscious for two hours or so. Clare was still on the floor. My vision was blurry and it was hard to sit up. I managed to sit up and crawl to Clare.

“Clare. Clare? Clare!” I said, shaking her.

“Ughh, my head!”

“You’re finally awake!”

“Finally?”

“You have been unconscious longer than me.”

“Longer than you?”

“Yeah,” I said, finally standing up

Clare stood up too. I saw a figure walking towards us.

“Wow,” the figure said. “It has been so many years since I’ve seen other people!”

The girl had long, straight, green hair that reached her lower back. It was obvious it was dyed. Her eyes were silver. She wore a blue shirt, pink sweatpants, sneakers and had a bat in her designer belt. She also held a pot with a poison ivy plant inside.

“Wait, Stephan?” she said to me.

“Ivy?”

“Hi!” she said running towards me, put down her plant and hugged me tight. I hugged her back.

“Where were you all these years?” Me and Ivy asked at the same time.

“Ahem.” Clare cleared her throat.

“Oh, sorry. Ivy. Clare. Clare. Ivy”

Clare glared at Ivy.

“Well,” Ivy said, ignoring Clare. “When we lived in Philly I went missing, remember?”

“Oh yeah!” I said.

“Anyways. I was in the woods one day, when you were making toy rafts, I was collecting sticks near the stream. When I was walking back, I heard a crash. I walked towards the noise and I saw a spaceship and the door was open. Like any curious kid would do, I walked into the ship, wanting to fulfill the stories my mom told me about aliens, I went inside. Then the doors closed. I panicked, then the head alien came over and treated me like their own kid. They fed me food and stuff like that. Then, we flew into space and I’ve technically been adopted by aliens since.”

“Wow,” I said. “I’ve missed you so much, Ivy! I always thought you would come back, but you never did. This is such a wonderful experience!” I said, hugging her again.
