Chapter 3:

Chapter 3: This One’s Legit

LOOKING, but not SEEING

“Yoo—what’s up! It’s God, baby!
So listen, today I scored a super, insanely wild paranormal photo, and I’m gonna show it to you guys—special just for you.
FYI, I’m seeing this for the first time too, so get ready—this is gonna be a legit, no-filter reaction!”

The man, wearing a flashy patterned sukajan jacket and power stones covering his arms, with mottled blond hair and sunglasses, grinned broadly straight into the camera.

“Just so you know, my psychic sense is seriously insane.
If it’s the real deal, the instant it hits my eyes, I get that bzzt—right away.
Alright then, let’s get into it…!”

The screen cut, and the paranormal photo slammed into view.
God, in the picture-in-picture window, deliberately jerked back in an exaggerated recoil.

“Ah—yeah, this one’s bad.
First off, this orb. Normally, it’d just be dust. But this? Totally different.
This is the shattered soul type. For real, this is insanely rare. No doubt about it.”

He kept nodding with a smug look on his face.

“Then there’s this black-haired girl. Take a look—see that expression?
She’s already seeing the hands at her feet. I can tell. This one’s legit.
And the twin-tailed one next to her—throwing a peace sign and jumping around? That’s way past just a test of courage.
It’s the clueless ones like that who are the most dangerous. I know this stuff.”

After a brief pause, he pointed at the white mass.

“And then this—yeah, that’s a face. No doubt about it.
It’s asking for help. I don’t know what exactly.
But it is asking for help—that’s what my psychic sense is telling me.
Poor spirit. This one kinda hits me right in the chest.”

At the end, he showed the white hand at the feet and lowered his voice.

“And then—this cluster of hands. Yeah, this is the real deal.
If something like this grabs you, you’re seriously saying goodbye to this world.
Those kids are probably already… no—don’t make me say it.
I can just tell, you know. When I see stuff like this.”

The screen switched back to him, wearing a full-on smug grin.

“But hey, don’t worry.
I’ll take care of the exorcism for you guys right now. It works even through the screen.
Stuff like this—it’s all about the intent, you know.
Alright then! That was God!”

By sheer chance, he had faintly hit upon several truths that would later shape the future.
But all of it was nothing more than coincidence, and without realizing even that, he only deepened his confidence.

And his followers believed only what God said, never thinking for themselves even once, and continued to praise him blindly.
The comment section was flooded with such thoughtless adulation.

“As expected, God-san! Your psychic sense is on a whole different level!”
“Seriously, it’s helpful every single time! Thank you for the exorcism! It works perfectly even through the screen!”
“Those hands at their feet were seriously terrifying… I was saved after seeing this—all thanks to you, God-san!”
"That twin-tailed girl is seriously dangerous—I totally get it (lol)."
"The theory that just watching this channel wards off bad luck has basically been proven now."
"The eyes of God. God’s eyes. This is the truth."
"Stuff like this is impossible for other psychic streamers."
"God-san, please keep protecting humanity from now on too!"

If his followers had thought for themselves, even just a little,
they might have been able to reach the truth that could have saved his future, by piecing together the faint hints that still remained.

But for him, being surrounded by followers who did not think was precisely what made for the most comfortable environment.
That sense of ease may have been what created his own tragedy.
