Shocking Revelations

Jessie: Well we never actually talked before, but I went to the same school as all of you. My name is Jessie. Griff probably knows me best. We were in the same graduating class!

G: Oh yeah, class president of literally everything. You did a lot for us with fundraising, like so freaking much, could’ve bought another school with the money you raised. Well anyways, would you mind explaining where you have been with these unique powers?

J: I can ask you boys the same thing.

H: Well if I may interject here, we have been secretly busting our chops saving everyone from these random shadow freaks. So as we said before, where have you been?

J: College. I was planning on living a normal life with a good education, but it seems that will have to be on hold for this summer. I want to help you guys out, these occurrences seem to be happening too often, and they seem to happen around you most of the time.(she pauses) Actually, all of the time.

G: It could be a coincidence.

J: (sarcastically) Yeah that’s it, Griff.

G: See I knew it was.

H: Well I mean, the more the merrier, so we would be honored to have you join our team. I seem to sense them a lot.

J: You seem to radiate the same energy as them, Hayden.

T: She’s got a point, it feels the exact same as those freaks.

H: Well I don’t have any intentions of destroying this world, guess that makes me a little different.

J: (Looking at Hayden) When did you get your powers?

H: A little bit after Griff and I’s mom passed away, almost eight years ago now?

G: Just about.

J: Well at least you have control over those interesting powers.

H: At this point I’d say that’s a good thing, it hasn’t changed since I got them.

J: Let’s keep it that way.

(They all stand in silent for a few seconds)

T: Well, I could eat.

H: I’m down.

G: Same!

J: We can discuss the things we’ve seen since the start of this interesting summer at dinner.

(Griff’s phone starts ringing, he looks at the caller ID)

G: Well, not everyone makes the appearance that Thom does, Zach is calling.

H: Tell him to meet us at Interstellar Burger for dinner.

G: (Into the phone) Zach meet us at Interstellar Burger for Dinner.

Z: Boy, I'm a vegan.

H: (Yells over Griff into the phone) Too bad Zach, see you soon boy. (Hayden hangs up Griffin’s phone)

INT. Interstellar Burger

(The group is sitting in a booth all eating burgers, Zach now with the group, having a glass of water and french fries as he cannot have much from the menu. Michaela is telling the guys about the extent of her research into these mythical stories she’s read. Everyone’s powers connecting to these myths, becoming reality. All the guys are listening intently.)

Z: Okay can I get that all summarized one more time I am hella confused right now.

J: Okay... so in an old tale passed on from a tribe called the Osiris Society thousands of years ago, states there was an ongoing war between Light and Darkness, one that would never seem to end. Their gods supposedly created this Earth, in the space between Light and Dark, and created three main elements, Water, Fire, Earth to keep balance between both Light and Dark on Earth. Each generation had a new guardian for each element, and it seems both Griff and Thom possess Earth and Water like powers, like ones of the Earth and Water guardians. I wonder if there is someone out there who possesses the power over fire, if so we need to find them. The war between light and darkness never ended. When the earth separated the forces supposedly, it created the Void and the Venture, a heaven and hell type of situation, in hopes to keep them away from any interaction between the two. It closed off any entrances to go between the two places to cross through the earth and break this barrier it created. Although it seems someone or something has created a hole in the Void to Earth, which could explain all the recent appearances of these freakish monsters. The Void is supposedly home to some of the deadliest monsters out there. Some of these “Shadows” fought in that war millions of years ago and bred some of the fiercest fighting monsters you could ever imagine. All from different ages in time, each is unique from each other. (Looks at Hayden) Hayden you obtained this power randomly you claim. I don’t think that is the case. Something chose you way back when, we just don’t know why. It could be the reason why this entrance to the Void opened. We need to find the source and stop it before it’s too late.

(Everyone is sitting in silence, contemplating what Jessie had laid down on them)

H: Well, I think tha-

??: Hey!!!

(A yell from the back of the restaurant in the kitchen, a young boy with big round glasses waves at the group and comes running over as fast as he can)
H: (He turns to the kid running up) Simon! Hey bud, how are ya?

Simon: Hey Hayden, and everyone else, I’m good! Just washing dishes for work, what are you guys doing here?

T: Our taxes Simon.

S: Good one Thom (Chuckling), since you asked how I am doing as well, I am doing amazing. I’ve been working on interdimensional web chat!

J: What?

S: Interdimensional web chat! Since my reputation is basically ruined here on this earth from bullies at school, I’ve made technology that lets me communicate with another world! One that is almost exactly like ours, but just a little different! I’m talking to this girl Sarah who does the exact same things as me, and created the same program as me, it’s probably why we are the only two people on it, but like its real-

H: Wow that’s awesome Simon is it okay if we hear about it later? Sorry I sound really mean but we are in a time crunch, could you get the waitress to get our check for us?

S: Yeah of course, I will talk to you guys soon!

H: (smiling) Have a good night Simon.

(He walks away to get the waitress)

(Simon walks by another waitress who starts making her way over to the gangs table, she has a paper in hand with some type of writing on it, as soon as she tries to quickly leave it on the table, Hayden notices and engages in conversation…)

H: Oh hey Bri!

Brianna: Oh, uh, hi Hayden! (With a look like she’s worried and up to something)

H: You work here too?

B: Yeah just on the weekends, so what are you guys doing after this?

H: Probably gonna head home, it’s getting kinda late, long day for all of us here.

B: Oh okay that’s cool I hope you guys enjoy the rest of your night then...

G: Is that our check in your hand?

B: Uh no actually it’s my check.

(She speed walks away)

J: Circling back, Hayden.. you claimed that you obtained these powers randomly, with no consent to anything else?

H: Basically, I think it could have stemmed from the trauma? When mom passed, it hard our family hard, I think I took it the hardest though. I wasn't myself mentally for a month. The first week after was the hardest. The powers started to appear, and I just rolled with it. Dad did not mind, Griff thought it was cool that I had powers, just like him.

G: Yeah! At birth, my parents were confused from the start, as I arrived in the world, they said the delivery room bloomed with flowers and plants of the sorts, definitely relates to the Earth guardian aspect.

J: Going off of that, turns out there are sub powers that continue to build off the elemental guardians, such as myself, a conductor of electricity, as an extended power based from the fire guardian, who we have not identified yet.

H: I see, so we really are not that special then...

J: Yes and no, mainly the main elemental guardians have more unique powers and connections to the earth, which mostly drive their power in the long run it seems.

H: For sure, I really want to learn more about my power, or curse maybe. I think there is a lot of good that can come from it.

J: Hopefully. You proved to me you are not like those other shadow monsters, so we can work together to put an end to all this craziness. Sheesh it's getting late, think it's safe to call it a night. If you guys see, hear, or feel anything odd going on, let me know, you all have my number now.

(Jessie gets up and leaves the restaurant)
(Manager walks by and says)
Manager: Alright guys we are closing soon time to head out.

G:(Looks over at Jessie’s seat) Hey Jessie didn’t pay her bill… did you guys -

(Everyone has left except Griff)

G: Aww.

(Griff pays the bill and heads outside, where everyone else is)

Z: You are a real one for paying Griff.

G: Shut up.

H: Well, I think we are a in for a fun summer boys.

T: Without a doubt.

Z: Heck yes my dude.

G: So are we still gonna try to hit the amusement parks this summer? I bought tickets at the beginning of the summer.

H: Our “amusement” is gonna be fighting these monsters till we know everything is settled.

G: Any chance that will be before August 19th my coupon for one free ride at any County Fair expires then.

H: No promises.

G: Dang.

(The 4 boys get ready to depart, but before they say their goodbyes, Zach’s facial expression changes)

Z:(sniffing) Wait.. (sniffing again)something is burning…

T: I smelled it, too, but I’m not sure where it is coming from…

H: I sense something, but it does not feel like a shadow…

G: I’ve had a stuffy nose for like the past week I got nothing.

(A huge flame erupts across the parking lot, the boys ready up to fight, then the flame dies down. They look at each other, then run over to the scene. There are words burned into the pavement that read, “MEET ME IN TESNO PARK, TOMORROW NIGHT AT 12”)

Z: Looks like a formal invite.

H: For all of us?

T: (Jokingly) Except Griff.

G: Actually it says for Griffin right there!

(They all look at the corner he points too, a long vine whip slips behind the three’s heads and smacks them face down into the pavement)
G: That’s the tip for the bill I paid.

H: (Slowly getting back up) Definitely deserved that one… so same time tomorrow?

Z: See you guys then! (He disappears into the darkness)

T: So I swam here earlier could I get a ride home.

(Hayden in the background): Wait pause, how did Zach do that...

G: I mean, as long as you got a towel to put on that backseat, sure.

(G, H and T all laugh and drive off into the moonlight,  the scene pans to a flame burning in the bush, a shadowy figure is watching them drive away, with hands covered in a blue flame)
