Chapter 35:
meet the bloodbriars
My children sit in the back of my classroom.
Observing.
Judging.
I continue teaching. Flawless as always.
Later, they approach.
Hades speaks first.
“Effective authority. Minimal wasted motion.”
Persephone adds, “Slight overreliance on sarcasm.”
I pause.
“…Excuse me?”
Beckett, from the doorway: “…I’m not involved.”
I cross my arms.
“…And your conclusion?”
“Acceptable,” they say together.
I sigh.
“…You are both insufferable.”
Privately, I smile.
