On a different board, Carol had opened her game against Yuusuke by playing the Egg Attack, consisting of e3, e5, g4, d5, and g5.

"This is Iori's friend, right? Sure shows," Yuusuke thought as he captured the pawn at g5 with his queen.

"Iori told me how much you suck, pants pisser. I'm gonna wreck you," Carol thought as she moved her pawn to d4.

Things continued on with bishop g4, h4, queen f5, f3, and bishop h5 providing little yields for Carol. Yuusuke's play of queen f6 was a slight misstep, but by no means a blunder. Thus, the tango continued with knight c3, bishop b4, and bishop d2.

"How stupid is she?" Yuusuke thought as he captured the pawn at d4 with his e-pawn.

Poorer words couldn't have been thought up at such a time as Carol captured the pawn at d5 with her knight.

"Uh, check?" Yuusuke growled as he captured the pawn at h4 with his queen.

"DUMBASS DON'T SEE IT!" Carol thought as she grinned and moved her king to f1.

Indeed he didn't until after he captured the pawn at e3 with his d-pawn.

Check!" Carol snickered as she captured the pawn at c7 with her knight.

Yuusuke sunk his face into his hands as he moved his king to e7. Then came an even nastier check in the form of bishop captures b4, all but forcing queen captures b4. And that allowed knight d5, check, meaning after king e8, it was bye-bye queen as the queen at b4 was gobbled up by the knight in an instant.

Any one else would have resigned at this point, but Yuusuke had pride, albeit, foolish pride. H6, queen d6, knight e7, rook e1, bishop captures f3, rook captures e3, knight c6, knight captures c6, king f8, queen captures e7, check, king g8, rook captures f3, rook f8, knight e5, rook h7, yet despite the imminent mate, Yuusuke refused to resign. Rook captures f7, rook a8, queen a6, king h8, bishop f5, king g8, knight g6, b5, then finally...

"Checkmate! You lose!" Carol laughed as she captured the pawn at a7 with her rook, winning the game.

The match was now even at 1.5-1.5 each.
