Chapter 9:

"We Don't Negotiate With The DEAD"

The Land of Maidens and Corpses (Original)

There was no doubt about it. She was beyond mad. Commanding an army of liches?

They had been trying to kill me earlier, and now she wanted me to lead them in an army? I doubt that they would listen to me. No, they would probably also kill me as soon as I attempted to boss them around.

"You're insane!" I shouted, pointing my finger at her.

"Insane? Someone like you doesn't have the right to spout such a word around. You're the one who has been acting calmly about all of this."

I guess she had a point. So much had happened, that I didn't really have time to panic anymore. This entire thing was one big tragic event. None of it should've been happening, and yet it all did. Here I stood, inside a building with an army of liches, confronting their leader, as the ever growing threat of the horde outside getting in was getting more and more clear. There was no doubt about this either. I was just as mad as her by this point

"I might be as mad as you, but I'm nothing like you! Like you said, I'm a madman. However, I do something that you don't. Even though, I might not show it. . . I value human life! Therefore, I refuse your offer!" I stated. Just like the accident, this statement came from somewhere unknown. It wasn't heroic like the accident though. This just felt like something that I had to say. I couldn't resist it.

"Are you really sure about this? There is nothing that can change your mind?" She offered, obviously disappointed at my refusal.

"There is no negotiation in the face of a demon like you!"

. . .

"Very well. . . " She looked up into the ceiling. "As you can see, he isn't interested in your offer! Seems like I'll have to execute my original plan."

She turned to face me again, the dark smile growing ever larger. "KILL HIM"

This was it. . . This was the moment, I had feared would happen. The beast outside crashed through the wall. I could feel as my heart beats were getting faster and faster. My impending death got ever so clearer, as Dozer glanced around the room before spotting me. His lifeless eyes, now gave off a malicious stare.

"You're scared of him? I've overestimated you I think. . ." She laughed.

"What the hell do you mean, you've underestimated?!" I shouted at her. "I'm not a king, nor am I a leader of an army. I'm not fit for any of this! I shouldn't be the one standing here, obviously!"

And yet you are. . .
