Chapter 38:
Unforgivable Vengeance
Hiku and her team froze, their eyes wide in disbelief, followed by his wife, hands flew over her mouth in disbelief, the ambience became silent, except the sound of wind howled, and my rage breathing, my damp bangs clinging on my face, still furious gazing at my father, reptilian pupils slitted, my grip from the staff of my spear tightened, clenching my teeth.
His eyes wide in disbelief, realized he remembered me as his estranged daughter, he reached his gun from the pocket, but I was quicker than his eyes, I stabbed my spear beside his head, making him shivered and I let a low-pitched guttural snarl.
He flinched, he knows the consequences of his actions, my mother, my father and my slain siblings, Everything lost from the blood and fire because of his reckless scheme. He already knew I was now gone feral after years of grief and lost of my entire family because of his selfishness.
"M-My… d-daughter…?"
I slammed my palm on the other side of his face, forcing him to stay silent, my pupils slitted furiously,
"Don't you dare to call me your daughter! It's too late now, father…!" I sneered, leaned my face close, inches from his own. His eyes were wide, pupils shaking, fixed at his own daughter he thought I was died from the predator's meal, but he was wrong, his believes was vanished, replaced in regret and guilt.
~~~
I towered over him, my shadow swallowed him whole like a young queen of the dinosaur, fangs bared, gaze lowered, ragged breathing although he could see my slitted pupils focused on him made him uncomfortable, he smelled the earth and wrath on my breath, he recognized the same purple-amber eyes—now with traits from the reptilians.
My claw sank on earth beside his head, my voice trembled—rage, betrayal, lost swirled together into one.
"You… left me alone, father…"
"I-I though you were dead—"
"I'm not dead, father."
"H-H-How did you live by yourself?!"
"I have family, unlike you! You were just choosing your own sins over your own child?! I was raised from both king and queen of the predator. They fed me even I didn't feel my real mother's arms—her warmth, her lullaby… but I ended myself here, alone without human friends."
Shame flickered across his face, for the first time in years, his bravado vanished, leaving him look—smaller, older and guilt.
Hiku and her team gathered together, watching the dramatic between the father and his estranged father. Sylvia whispered to Violet.
"Wait… Is that…?"
"Her father, Syl." Violet answered, gaze focused beneath her visor.
"He abandoned her since she was just a helpless infant, starving, needs warmth from her mother, wrapped on bundle inside the basket, shivering from the cold weather without humans living in the wilderness." she explained, lowered her gaze, still furrowed—not on me, on my father.
Sylvia nodded off, melancholy look across her face, not responded back, just stay silent, her axolotl frills flattened as she observing from the distance.
Hiku and Rosetta exchanged look before shift their attention from each other. My enormous brother stared at his sister, proud yet with melancholy look on his reptilian gaze.
~~~
"I-I though you were died from that day?"
"Who cares?! A father showing his affection to his grown up daughter!?" I hollowed laugh, tears spilled on the ground, snapped my attention to him, furious.
"But you almost killed me."
Everyone gasped, General Naoryuu's eyes wide in disbelief, mumble under her breath, her gaze landed between me and my father.
"Honey, I-Is she telling the truth?"
General Naoryuu shift his gaze to his wife, shook his head, pleading.
"No, s-she's lying!" he lied, although his trembled hands showing the truth despite he was breathing in anger.
"Don't believe her! She's just a curse—! Don't believe her— just believe me!"
Everyone stared at him silently, Hiku huffed crossed her arms around her armored chest, Sylvia didn't listen to him, Violet just… nothing, stared at him nonchalantly, even his guards left him behind, retreat back from the darkness. Hiku muttered under her breath.
"Tch! I don't trust selfish people like you."
His wife and two son stepped backwards away, no longer faith to him. General Naoryuu yelled, need for attention.
"Hey, hey?! WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING! I'M YOUR BOSS, DON'T YOU DARE TO IGNORE ME! I'LL DESTROY THE WHOLE WORLD! ONLY OUR BLOODLINE WILL BE—!"
I growled in irritation, charged forward before he spoke back by grabbed his neck with my reptilian arm, two clawed finger curled around his throat in deadly grip, lifting him from the ground, he managed to find his voice—but he ended up choked, struggled to find his words as his gaze focused against mine, slitted pupils molding into Q-shaped.
"A-Acckk—!?! W-who—!?"
~~~
Hiku and her team shocked, their eyes wide in horror, exchanged look before they split up for another intense mission—to stop me from my vengeance. They exchanged nod at each other, gathered in small circle.
"Guys, we have to stop her before she lost control."
"What should we do? But she was formidable to defeat her!" Rosetta cried, clasped her hands together on her chest.
"Hiku, but how? She was stronger than us!" Sylvia added, panicked look on her face, axolotl frills pinned.
Hiku's gaze narrowed in determination. "We need to stop her. With a plan."
~~~
With a growl, I threw him on the clearing, stared at him with predatory grin, baring sharp jagged teeth, that easily to tear the skin, my pupils already in Q-shaped, without a warning, I pressed my two clawed fingers deeper against my chest—extract the core out from my body to trigger my another transformation, a pool of crimson flowing continuously on my lower lip, let a devilish laugh.
Hiku's eyes wide in disbelief and horror, her dark blue-turquoise eyes shaking, gloved hand flew over her mouth.
"No… S-S-She extract her own heart!?"
"Hiku, what should we do?! She's going to destroy everything and we cannot stop her!"
Rosetta's grip around her bow trembled, her mint-green eyes focused on my trembled form, tears flowing silently on her eyes, mumbled my name.
"K-Kyou-san…"
Sylvia stood beside her, soothing her desperately despite the real horror began. Hiku gestured to her friends with a silent nod, exchange glanced, agitated but they can handle with risk.
~~~
Then, the transformation begin, the sound of cracked bones, my form expand even further and further as ten times larger as size of the massive building, the shadow swallowed the entire clearing.
The thick dark ash covered the entire forest during my bizarre transformation. Hiku coughed, moved her hand over her mouth.
The air grew heavy, the scent of ozone and ancient earth lingers the atmosphere, Hiku and her team stood in front of the Naoryuu's family, General Naoryuu's eyes wide, pupils trembled in fear as the massive shadow casting over the thick ash. My massive form shift from the ashes, two pairs of eerie crimson gleamed from the thick fog, let a guttural cry in both grief, wrath and pure rage, causing the entire world rattling, the city's light of Osaka, brownout, from the sudden shock, outside of the city, citizens confused, even Yua on her home blinked in confusion, she thought it must've be the heavy wind from outside.
~~~
My enormous brother let a whimper, he know his sister was consumed by all of this—vengeance, revenge, trauma and. Rosetta's golem GigaPetal gave him a gentle pat.
Hiku and her team exchange glanced each other, weapons ready, their hair fluttered from the gust behind them, they stood together, undertaking me from my darkness—to get me out from the shadows of vengeance.
