Chapter 54:

Living in my little sister's body - 1 - 'kyuu' is a problem

I Won't Kill Myself for the Second Time

About twenty-five minutes, that was the time we had to wait curled up in a corner for someone to pick us up. However, the person who had appeared wasn’t the Amato’s family chauffeur.

An elegant man in his forties was standing at the entrance of the dark path we were hiding in. He stroked his chin with an engrossed expression, recording every detail of the scene in front of him.

“This is strange, I rushed here without delay after hearing that my cute daughter was attacked and is hiding from her assailant, but now I see two Violets, both of them naked, shivering from cold, with their backs leaning against each other and crouching in a puddle of water despite the fact that it’s below zero degrees. Is that a stack of abandoned clothes over there? Gas masks? And what’s with this ice all around as if someone was pouring water randomly? This is truly an intriguing puzzle. Michael, can you confirm the clothes for me? But first, tell one of your guys to bring two thermal blankets from the heli, in case one of them really is my daughter.”

Gregory’s lush raven black hair was neatly combed to the side. His business black suit and red necktie were visible through the unbuttoned, perfectly matched, winter cloak.

“Yes, Mr. Amato.”

Answered calmly a tall, muscular man in a grey suit standing by Gregory’s right side. The chief of security kept one of his hands in the inner pocket of his suit and reached for the phone with the other.

“S-she’s the real V-violet and I’m your s-son, g-good to see you t-too father. C-cool ability I’ve got h-here, don’t y-you think?”

“Oh?”

My teeth were chattering from the cold making it hard to talk properly. Violet situation wasn’t better, but she didn’t even try to say anything and only curled herself more, trying to hide as much of her body as possible.

The story that I had told father during the previous phone call was briefly about how I (Violet) together with my friend had been attacked in the Third Communal Cemetery - couldn't move from it - and I had asked to quickly send someone to pick us up as we still might have been in danger. I had also mentioned the exact place where we were hiding. He had simply said 'Understood, don't move, someone will get you soon. You will tell me everything back in the mansion.' and disconnected.

I hadn't thought about it at that time, but it might have been a poor choice of words. Father not only arrived in person, but it seemed that he had brought a major part of the mansion’s security with him.

“Now this is getting more and more intriguing. How is it?”

Father addressed this question to Michael who had finished the call and was now looking through our abandoned clothes.

“Tear gas, my eyes are already starting to swell.” *cough* “One bigger set of clothes in Victor’s size and one smaller that should fit Violet. Shoe sizes are also matching theirs.”

After receiving this answer, Gregory moved three steps closer and while alternating his sight, like a pendulum, between the two blond girls asked:

"Violet what did I tell you when you've told me that you didn't want to attend the same school as your siblings did?"

What? Why is he asking about this?

Vio apparently better understood his intentions as she broke her silence and answered in a quiet, slightly breaking voice:

“T-that… a-avoiding the p-problem is u-useless… new ones w-will a-appear... anyway.”

This seemed to be the answer father wanted as he clapped twice and locked his eyes on me.

“She’s my real cute daughter and you, are you my real surprisingly cute son? Victor, what did I tell you when you’ve said that you were preparing for an ambush?”

An ambush? What ambush? Think… think… think…

I was fruitlessly looking for an answer for more than a minute when Michael made a move as if he was about to pull something out from the inside of his suit, but father stopped him with one hand and added:

“Hmm… I will give you one small tip, it was during the last time when we were drinking the beer together like we usually do.”

It clicked, not only I recalled what ambush he was talking about, but I also spotted another trap in his words.

“L-looks like f-father’s m-memory isn’t m-much better than m-mine. W-we only d-drank beer t-together once and, b-back then, you’ve t-told me to g-go back t-to school, the p-place w-where Viktoria and V-Vincent w-were.”

Together with this answer, the whole atmosphere changed. The slightly amused and intrigued mask on father's face fell off and a terrifying expression hidden underneath made both me and Violet shiver way more intensely than a mere cold could make us to. He didn't spare us another glance and immediately started issuing orders in an ice-cold tone to the chief of security.

“Michael, call forty more people, tell ten of them to come with dogs. Inform the police that I’m organizing a hunt and tell them not to disturb us. By the time this night ends, I want you to bring me whoever did this to my children. Anyone messing with the Amato family has to pay the price.”

“Yes, Mr. Amato.”

Hearing this a completely new kind of shiver ran down my spine, a really dark one - filled with joy.

“A g-guy with a b-brown b-biker jacket, name’s A-adam. An e-esper t-that can b-block hostile a-actions.”

I added with a corrupted smile that didn’t fit Violet’s pretty face. Michael was busy talking on the phone and didn’t react to my words, but father did. He turned towards us, instantly swapped his expression to a gentle one, came closer and put one hand on each of the blonde heads.

“Don’t worry, he will pay, but… if I remember correctly, you two tried to live on your own, didn’t you? You can’t just come crying to me at the first sign of trouble, every decision and its corresponding implications have a price attached.”

I wasn’t the only one who understood that it wasn’t going to be a small one, Violet’s small hand finally found mine and clung to it tightly.

Right after that, we were given large thermal blankets brought by one of Micheal’s men. The young guy seemed to be quite shocked by the sight of his boss naked and doubled daughter.

“Now, now. Everyone turn around quickly. Michael, shot in the leg anyone who will try to peek, me included.”

“Yes, Mr.Amato.”

This was probably a joke, but it became a serious matter as soon as the security chief got included. After confirming that the three men gave us some space, I uncurled myself from the crouching position and wrapped a blanket tightly around. Behind me, Vio probably did the same.

“Violet, Victor are you done?”

“Yeah.” “Yes.”

Father turned around to which Michael reacted by pulling out his gun and aimed at Gregory's knee. This unexpected turn of events caught all of us by surprise and even father was unable to find the correct way of reacting to it. Michael looked carefully at each of us, cleared his throat to mask his troubled expression and hid the gun.

“A joke…”

“A joke? Huh… good one.”

Said father in a calm tone while trying to stealthily wipe out the sweat from his forehead.

“Pff-ff-hahahahaha!”

The one who reacted like a laughing volcano was Violet. I also smiled a little, seeing the first sign of her regaining the mental balance.

I was starting to get worried that she will end with a trauma or worse, if Micheal did this while aiming at this result, he’s on a master tier.

“Alright, Michael, carry the laughing one to the heli, I will take the dickless one.”

Next, he pointed at the young guy and said:

“Rob? Bob? Yeah, you. Get all of the stuff lying here inside a plastic bag and bring it to the mansion.”

Still giggling Violet had no objections to being princess carried by Michael, I bet she even liked it. On the other hand… for me the next few minutes were incredibly bizarre and embarrassing. I had lost not only the physical symbol of my manhood, but I felt as even the psychical one was evaporating due to being carried in my father’s astonishingly strong arms.

I even made a small, extremely cute ‘kyuu’ sound when he pressed me strongly against his chest, just like Vio once did when I had hugged her.

I tried to hide my blazing red face with hands before Gregory noticed anything.

“I’ve got nothing against a new cute daughter. What's more, you’re not scared of me like Vio or worshipping like Viki, I like this new feeling. How long are you going to stay like this? Please tell me its permanent.”

Unfortunately, it was in vain - there was no coming back after this line.

Give me back my testosterone… I never had too much of it… it was precious…

Up till now, I had somehow missed one keyword that had emerged from father's mouth and it was the word 'heli'. Instead of the expected black Mercedes, on a nearby empty parking lot stood a shiny new helicopter. It was a beautiful black machine with three red stripes on the side, smoothly build from the very cockpit up to the tip of its tail. On its side were five crimson letters 'AMATO', probably in case it got lost so the finder would know where to return it.

That explained how they got here so fast. Still, in my joined memories, there wasn't even a small note of our family owning a helicopter - Violet looked equally surprised.

Once inside, I realized that there were two seats in the front and four in the back, everything covered with black leather. Curious, I tried poking and peeking all around like a small child. The remote control was attached - I mean the pilot, he was sitting on his seat with a helmet and a mouthpiece. The four of us were in the back and my brain was malfunctioning.

It was caused by the fact that father refused to let me go when we were sitting inside and still forcibly held close to his chest. Violet was in a reversed position, Michael tried to let her go, but she clung to him tightly until he resigned and allowed her to do it. Vio was apparently going through an additional renaissance of happiness solely thanks to watching my terrified, confused and red-hot face.

We didn’t talk as any sound that wasn’t adequately loud would be only drowned in the noise of the helicopter’s rotor. To save the remains of my mental dignity I focused solely on analyzing the cemetery fight.

- Our stealth attempt only succeeded because Adam was in his own world with Rora.

- We attacked, while first, we should have re-positioned ourselves closer to the hatch behind the grave.

- The two grenades I threw turned out to be useless. Vio saved the day with her kick and the additional one.

- I sent her as the main attacker without telling her about Adam’s taser.

- I waited for her to grab the DOLL instead of immediately following with the support. At that point, was I scared to face Adam? Somehow, loose clothes stopped being a convenient excuse when I saw Vio fell down.

- Rather than cutting the wires as fast as possible I left Vio to suffer and went to exact revenge… the truth was that a part of me wanted her to suffer a little so she would know how the real pain felt like…

- I didn’t run away which could be perceived as a positive thing. However, I used Vio as fuel for my rage till I lost control and by now I would have been a murderer if not for Adam’s ability… that was really bad and filled me with dre-

Even if it feels good, stop patting me! What am I?! A cuddly toy?! Ergh… focus and forget… focus and forget...

- We were lucky that Adam was overconfident and didn’t try to run away or maybe Rora did something? If I remember correctly due to his boyfriend category he wanted to fulfill her whims and they shared their feelings… did it mean that the pain got doubled and he had a screaming girl inside his head that didn’t allow him to think straight?

- The idea ‘I will throw the grenade first and see how he reacts to it.’ was a bullshit level one, since I had so much time to prepare and already had an inkling on how to counter Adam’s power.

- I didn’t even take our clothes into the equation despite the fact that it should be obvious, which resulted in our current situation...

“Kyuu…”

God damn it, I made this sound again… he’s messing with me on purpose… thank the heavens he can’t hear all those embarrassing noises I make… I hope...

I stopped at this point… the overall verdict was - failure. This should have gone so much better given the time we had to prepare and that we had the upper hand of a surprise attack, at least we had retrieved Luna… although she was being transported in a plastic bag somewhere… shit, I forgot to take her.

Votr lessons weren't in vain, he thought me how to quickly make myself depressed without his help.

Now I have to do to tell everything to Violet and somehow make it up to her, find Luna before she gets lost again… and survive the upcoming stay in the mansion.
