The Truth Behind Their Journey

"And after that, it is like you see. I lived here for many years."

As she looked at her, Caitrin said with a slightly sad expression on her face,

"I fell really for what had happened. It must have been really difficult to be accused of being a traitor by your own people for years."

"Ah, don't worry! I had so much fun here! And found many spells that are very interesting to experience!"

Then Caitrin said with a confused expression on her face,

"Oh, yeah! You were talking about the spells that you "found" and "created". And you told us that you created "The Rift". What are those spells that you have talked about?"

She then smiled, opened the book, and pointed a couple of spells that had their descriptions under them,

"As you can see there are a lot of spells that I have worked on or even invented over the years."

She then pointed the spells one by one and added,

"This one here is called "Carneus". It's a powerful spell that is created in the time of my ancestors. It makes you able to erase people's memories. But since it is very difficult to use this spell it is a spell that even I still have difficulty using, and I have not discovered any side effects of it yet."

She then added,

"But if my ancestor "Ishionavari" would be here, she could do it easily. After all, she once locked all the kingdoms in a magical box with a single spell because of the Black Wizards they dealt with."

She then pointed to the other spell and said,

"And the other one is called "Pheme". This spell is a spell that I have created many years ago. I made this for sick or wounded people, so they can transfer life energies to another and save others people's lives. And even if I tampered with Luroun's life-stealing spell, as long as I perfect it, it could help a lot of people. But I would still expect people who would want to use it to be very desperate since it's not a safe spell."

Then she pointed the last spell and said,

"And the final one is "The Rift". As you two said, I made this to show people places. But rather than exactly doing like that, that is not how it exactly works."

Caitrin asked confused,

"What do you mean by that?"

"The answer to your question is very simple, but I need to ask a few questions before that."

She then added,

"Did you-"

Caitrin then remembered the events that they have been through and said with an excited expression,

"Oh, yeah! I don't want to interrupt you but, When we were back in Faye, Tatsumi started to see Emperal. And since I saw Emperal too, it was a little weird for me. He wasn't seeing the same places as me but, when we fought with many creatures and helped many people, it kept appearing and slowly changed. But it didn't end there. We saw the same places over and over again until we came here. I knew something was odd with that, but I couldn't figure it out. Do you know why did that happen?"

"So it happened like that."

She then looked at them and said,

"I created this spell to show people what they truly desired from the deep of their hearts. It didn't matter if it was love, money, or war. And it looks like it worked differently on you. From the very moment, you two saw the rift from at the beginning and the places you started to see towards the end were different from each other. And if that means one thing then it's that both of ur goals slowly began to collide and become one. That is the only logical explanation for this."

Orano then asked,

"Maybe it makes sense to work it like that according to the events we've been through and that the Rifts show people the places they want the most, but you're forgetting one more detail."

He then looked at the witch and added,

"If it showed us what we wanted from the very start, why have we seen it almost repeatedly rather than just seeing it once? There's got to be a logical explanation for that too."

She grinned and said,

"Of course there is. But that depends on why did you search for the Rift all the way long. You had a purpose for that right?"

Orano looked at her and explained with a serious expression,

"I've been looking for them all this time because of the vortex that formed in Lake Rawara. It was the vortex that got me on to this world."

"To this world? Aren't you from around here?"

Caitrin said with a nervous smile,

"Actually, he comes from another world. I couldn't believe what I heard at first too."

"Is that so?"

She then grinned and said,

"This makes things more fun."

Orano then said,

"I came here believing that your spell was a part of that vortex, but it wasn't at all."

The witch looked at him and said,

"I understand what you trying to say and It is obvious that you want to get out of here, But is that your only reason to search for the Rifts from the beginning?"

At first, Orano looked at her confused. What was she trying to tell? Why he needed reasons? He didn't understand, but right after that, she started to explain,

"As I can understand from what you have told me. It looks like you wanted and did help people on the way, right? If it's like that, then it means there were more things that you wanted to do besides searching for the rifts. If all those Rifts showed you different places and kingdoms, then there was a reason for you to be there at that time."

Caitrin said with a surprised expression,

"Those actually make sense. No wonder we traveled almost all of the kingdoms."

Then Orano looked at the witch with a serious expression and said,

"Then I have one last question for you."

"I am listening."

Then he added,

"Do you know anything about that vortex, that appeared four and a half years ago?"

She looked at him confused and said,

"Vortex?"

Then she added,

"Unfortunately, I don't know any details about that."

Caitrin said with a sad expression,

"So you don't know too?"

As they were giving up on finding an answer, the witch smiled once more and said,

"But I only know one thing about it."

Caitrin then lifted her head and asked excitedly,

"Really?"

"I don't know if it still works like that but, that vortex appears every five years."

"Every five years?"

"Yeah. At first, I made many theories about it too, but I've seen it twice in the last ten years, and both were exactly after five years and they were the same day. And if my predictions are correct, this one will appear on April twelve. But if you miss this one, I don't know what will you guys do."

"April Twelve!? But that's-"

"When Nuzuki will attack." Orano said while completing her phrase.

The witch asked confused,

"Nuzuki?"

"Nuzuki Serumu. He is an Orwell. He is planning to release an "army" at the twelve of April and he says that he will capture every kingdom after that."

"An Orwell, huh? I'm not surprised, they were cocky all these years anyway." 

Caitrin asked,

"Did you met with an Orwell before?"

"Not really. I only saw Horus Serumu but he didn't talk to me. We just saw each other and walked away. But I heard about his incident though. It was cruel even for him.

Then she looked at them and added,

"I hope they don't do a mess like before, but I guess that is the cycle of life anyway. To kill the darkness, you have to hold a light towards it, and if you want to stop the light then you have to cover it with darkness."
