Chapter 30:

ARCHIVE ENTRY 2: THE LETTER OF THE CHIEF LIBRARIAN ABOUT THE EPIC OF THE WEST URSUS (EXCERPTS)

The Beastman Saint is H*rny, so I was Kidnapped to Another World Vol. 9

To the Director of the Royal Academy,

At the request of the Chief Researcher of the Royal Academy, Professor Medlin Fengor, I took the burden of studying the ancient stories and texts for any clues on the origins of the Kingdom of Cherwind. Below is a collection of excerpts from the Book of Beastmen Folk Tales and Epics, collected and written by the author, Sergius of the Tigers. The scholars have selected these passages in relation to the research being conducted about the origins of the Kingdom of Cherwind. I think these will reveal something about our country’s background, or at least give direction to the scholars of where to look.

(Stanza 56, Book 2)

And the Light said to the bear-woman, very well, I have heard your cry,

Behold…in this life, in this land, in everything that one sees when the Eagles fly.

Fear not, for it is the heaven’s will to allow you and try,

Rule over your people, raise their heads, wipe their tears dry.

(Stanza 57, Book 2)

So a promise on stone was struck,

Atop that formidable Kingdom Rock.

Between the gods of the realm and the bear-woman,

The former slave Ursura, savior of the Beastman.

(Stanza 45, Book 3)

For the heaven’s test, the Queen was given,

Three labors, so the arms of the gods would open.

The first among these was to save the tribe of Chickens,

Who gave up on their lives, their village filled with mayhems.

(Stanza 66, Book 3)

The Queen led the bloody fight against the harpies,

Monsters of old, terrorizing and destroying entire cities.

The daughter of the mountain tribes, leading the way.

Gave courage to the Chickens, and they won the day.

(Stanza 7, Book 4)

The second labor, capture that mighty human fortress,

The Black Tower, symbol of men’s power at best.

This, the Queen did in a matter of moments,

Helped by her men, fighting like there’s no end.

(Stanza 38, Book 4)

The Wise White Wolf, the god of the Cauldron Isles,

Broke the deities’ ban and gave the Queen demon arms.

Powder and weapon, they overcame the humans,

Who soon surrendered and threw off their plans.

(Stanza 13, Book 5)

The final labor, to gain the heavens’ aid,

Unite the beastmen and men, blood is not to be paid.

With a mighty army, the Queen struck down her enemies,

But with sword and demon arms, come the forgiveness and peace.

(Stanza 47, Book 5)

For the Queen was a merciful and magnanimous soul,

Accepted the battered and bruised humans, like a wounded foal.

The races united, moving with one common goal,

That is to free Cherwind from the final evil, once and for all.

(Stanza 100, Book 7)

The Queen was of power, magnificent and terrible,

Courageous daughter of the mountain tribes, she was able.

Smote down the mighty men, level their cities,

Brought forth fearful retribution and justice.

It has been brought to my attention that someone from the scholars suggested the existence of a ‘third person’ aside from Queen Ursura and her ministers, who possessed the knowledge of the technologies and concepts that founded the Kingdom of Cherwind. While I myself find this quite impossible, I implore everyone involved in this undertaking to keep an open mind for every possibility.

As you can read from these passages, there are several instances of ‘divine beings’ or ‘deities’ helping the Queen Ursura with her calling to unite and lead the ancient peoples of Cherwind. I highly-suspect that these parts lend credence to that theory of a ‘third person’. I mean, though the ancient authors might attribute the miraculous events to the heavenly beings, the fact remains that, in reality, these might have been inspired by the actions of someone, or some people that remain unrecorded. Given proper funding and people in researching these certain ‘points’, I’m sure something important would be revealed.

I hope these excerpts would help you in directing the research and archaeological efforts. May our scholars find something valuable just in time for the celebration of the 2000th Anniversary of the Kingdom of Cherwind’s founding.

Long live the Queen!
